  Spent two nights there after Thanksgiving. Great place to stay, lots of room. My wife,children and grandson loved it. Only ten minutes from Black Mountain. The owner was very helpful and answered any questions we had over the phone. I would definitely stay here again in the future.

  Love this place! This cabin is well appointed and very comfortable. It met all of our needs. We enjoyed the property - spending time at the fire pit and walking up to the top of the mountain. Our stay was peaceful and relaxing. The neighbors were great also! Thanks so much for all you did to make our stay so memorable!

  My husband and I have rented many cabins in western NC and Black Mountain area and have never had such a frustrating experience. On answering the add, no one ever got back to us after several phone calls to secure the place. Then the owner (after telling them we wanted the place) changed the add on VBRO regarding an upcharge for holidays which wasn't on there before. He said he wouldn't charge us but ended up overcharging us in the long run and wouldn't give an explaination except that we were "saving" significant money by not being charged the holiday fee. He never refunded the money nor gave an explaination of the overcharge. He also charged us twice for the sheets but did refund for that. The hot tub wasn't working when we got there which he assured us it would be and the water was ice cold. So by the time someone fixed it and it heated up it was 2-3 days after our arrival that we could use it. It never worked very well turning it off and on the whole time and some of the jets weren't working. The property had trash scattered around in places and just seemed like it wasn't well cared for. Inside, on opening the medicine cabinet in the shelves fell down before even putting anything in it. An outlet that was falling out of the wall that was much needed as was by the bed was told to owner and never fixed while we were there as well as the med cabinet. The kitchen was sparcely stocked, ie. 3 regular glasses and many normal things needed for cooking that weren't there. No place to put food except countertop. Frig was loaded with old condiments from other people with many outdates. Two tables were falling apart, the cocktail table in LR and side table in den. There was no cell service, which we stayed at a cabin once in same neighborhood and had cell, which was not mentioned in add and very important for us and no DVD player. Owner also had me pay a charge for paypal which he asked me to pay this way and never meantioned I'd have to pay a fee. Never received itemized bill so couldn't tell if I was being overcharged. Pictures look good, but the most frustrating experience we've ever had. Wouldn't reccomend.

  Holy cow what a great time .I want one. This place had everything and most of all it was quite .3 nights we had a lite snow and the fire pit was warm and delightful . The shower( the master shower) would fit 4 people. The mountain water was the best i had ever had. We went in to town before we left and bought 4-5 gallon containers to take this water home .The owners when all out on this place and even had a book on local things to do .we did them all. The gem dig , builtmore. the best part was getting back to the cabin to enjoy the fire place.

  Lovely cabin with cozy living room, GREAT kitchen and plenty of room to spread out. We enjoyed the large gas-fireplace which kept us toasty warm over Christmas. There are lovely porches and a hot tub which would be fabulous in warmer weather. We did build a wonderful fire in the firepit one night and also enjoyed the quiet creekside seating steps from the cabin. This is a very nice cabin; secluded up a twisty mountain highway yet minutes from town.

  Spent Christmas in this wonderful cabin, enjoying the cozy living room with large gas-fireplace. Nicely furnished rooms, GREAT porches for outdoor seating (though it was too cold for us in December!) and a wonderful kitchen set-up to prepare all our meals. We did build a fire outside in the firepit which was lots of fun. All in all, a GREAT cabin with a secluded mountain feel but minutes to town on the twisty, mountain road.

  Recommended for: Age 55+, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway, sightseeing.

  Overall the rental was very good...quiet and peaceful and convenient to town. The only negatives were the lack of kitchen tools (ie peelers, wisks, etc.) and the overall lighting in the cabin for reading. Otherwise it was a very positive experience.

  Recommended for: Age 55+, romantic getaway, pet owners.

  We just spent last weekend in this wonderful property. The pictures don't do it justice. It was very well maintained and looked brand new on the inside. All of our guests enjoyed the confortable sleeping arrangements. We loved all of the hardwoods throughout the place and the warm and cozy fireplace. We spent most of our time outside by the firepit which is just off of the house. It could not have been in better location. It was great to sit outside on the front porch in a rocking chair in the morning and have our coffee. We all love to cook and where able to utilize many of the items that they had on hand. They did have plenty of pots and pans, silverware, dishware and cups. Close to a great store (Ingles) which we loved! Many things to do close by if your want to venture out. We do recommend that you call someone in advance to deliver firewood. Alittle expensive at the store if you need alot for a long weekend. We had to drive awhile to find someone to sell us wood. We highly recommend this property and can't wait to rent it again.

  Loved the cabin. Great for my family of 5. In the mountains, yet so close to the town of Black Mountain, separate fire pit area to roast s'mores or just sit by a campfire, great area for hiking & or running, or most importantly, just relaxing. Couldn't have asked for more!

  When I arrived to Bear foot cabin I didnt know what to expect. I had never been to a cabin before. I had nightmares of no cable or internet. Being cut off from the world. "Camping'" ...Once there I was pleasantly surprized a comfy home. Complete with a new kitchen and dishwasher TV and a large oversized showered covered in marble. The grounds were superb a classic firepit. A stream to sit lazily by. The property is so clean and well maintained. From the beginning dealing with the wonerful owners to the very end it was a dream vacation. I highly recommend this place to anyone and everyone and will visit again this spring. I LOVE BLACKMOUNTAIN!!
