We went to the cottage for Spring Break this year. It happened to snow 3days while there. Perfect! We downhill skiied, cross country skiied, toured the town and Olympic Museum, hiked on one of the trails, had a great, memorable time. The cottage was very charming, very nice updates! We were able to eat in several times and found several nice restaurants. The owner had lots of great information and was extremely nice! Close to town, walking distance, enjoyed the fireplace, well stocked kitchen, even had the driveway shoveled. Loved that we were able to wash clothes as well. Thanks for sharing your home.Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this Lake Placid cottage. Only improvement needed would be extra bathroom. With five women trying to get out in the morning, it was hectic. We managed nicely due to the wonderful comfort the cottage afforded us. Very, very clean and tastefully decorated, we cooked, relaxed and slept well here. We plan another trip back next spring!Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

The cottage on Grand Avenue was just the perfect place to enjoy all that Lake Placid has to offer. Everything we needed was available, functional, and of high quality. Being only three blocks from the main drag around Mirror Lake, allowed us to walk to and enjoy town without worrying about parking! The beds were all comfortable and the way the owners renovated the cottage maximizes the space without being cramped - the three bedrooms are quite a plus. Everything was tastefully updated and comfortable! Just perfect!Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, tourists without a car, age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children.

I wanted to thank you for allowing myself, my daughter, and another family the oportunity to stay in you home on Grandview . The house was lovely and very comfortable.I appreciated having everything we needed available for use inside the home and made our stay even more enjoyable, not having to run out looking for select items, especially during the snow storm. Thank you again and hope to be able to stay again soon. RegardsDid you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

This cottage is a perfect retreat in Lake Placid. We stayed 4 nights during a very cold week and were very pleased. All of the previous reviews are very accurate and the photos are spot on. We were extremely impressed by how clean and cozy the cottage was. It has everything you could need and has been updated very well. The fireplace was great to come back to after a long day of skiing. It is located in a great area that is very close to everything. The owner is very pleasant and easy to get in touch with. We would definately recommend this property to anyone.Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children.

This is a wonderful property, very well maintained. Correspondence was quick and painless. Clean and spotless with modern aesthetic. 3 bedrooms, 1 with 2 pulldown beds that kids argued who got to sleep in. Nice gas fireplace to cozy up at end of cold active day. Easy walk to Main Street and all the attractions. We never drove to Main Street. 2 grocers 5 minute drive away. Whiteface was about 15 mins away and a great mountain for novice skiiers to learn on. Plenty of activities in town (ice skating, bobsledding, ski jumping, stars on ice) for non skiiers. Just what our young family of 5 needed at the end of the year. Great place, LH, and thanks for sharing it with us!Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.

We just got back from a lovely 4 night stay, and would highly recommend this house. There were a lot of things we particularly liked about the cottage: -the overall decor, furnishings, etc are beautiful. My wife loves arts and crafts type furnishings and architecture, and loved the dining room set - she wanted to take it home !! -having enough beds to fit up to 6 people is very handy - the 5 of us had plenty of room -having wifi, and a washer and dryer are great conveniences -the kitchen is great, with modern, full-size appliances, a dishwasher, etc - helps a lot when on vacation to not have to eat out every meal -location perfect - the street is very quiet, but we walked everywhere (the whole neighbourhood is beautiful - loved the classic country style homes) -having a fireplace to turn on the winter was very nice My 23 year old daughter exclaimed "If we come back to Lake Placid, I absolutely want to stay here again!"Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, families with teenagers.

My boyfriend had never spent time in the Adirondacks, so last year I decided to surprise him with a trip to Lake Placid. We stayed for a weekend at the Crowne Plaza and enjoyed everything that we had time to. When we talked about taking a week off for a Fall vacation this year, we decided to go back to Placid to enjoy everything that we hadn't had time to last year, but decided to see what there was available for vacation rentals rather than staying at a hotel for an entire week. My, oh, my was that ever the right decision! We'd reserved the cabin for a week, and we arrived on a rainy afternoon after a leisurely drive up. We walked in and knew immediately that we'd made the right decision. Entry: Lots of floormats and shoeholders for all of those hiking boots and other shoes and plenty of hooks for coats and sweaters. Living Room: Comfortable with two cozy couches, a nice gas fireplace, and a flat screen tv. Nice pillows for the couch and a fuzzy throw blanket to snuggle in to. Dining Room: Great big table, nice sideboard, stocked with all sorts of games, DVDs, and brochures for lots of different things to see and do in Lake Placid. Three Bedrooms: Comfortable beds, all rooms have closets to stow luggage in, extra pillows, blankets, fans, etc. All linens and blankets were provided and quite snuggly and comfortable. The bedroom we used had a nice big dresser for us to put all of our things in. Bathroom: Immaculately clean, nice tub/shower, soft towels and lots of washcloths. Cleaning supplies and extra toilet paper were stored under the sink- nice things to have. Kitchen: Wow, they had more than I have in my kitchen, I think! Lots of plates, dishes, glasses, mugs, etc., and tons of cooking utensils and pots and pans. Blender, toaster, microwave, coffeemaker...everything you could want. Nice appliances, everything clean- not a crumb anywhere! I'm a stickler for clean, and this place got it right. I had no complaints at all- it was all immaculate, which made the stay comfortable. There was enough storage to really unpack and feel like it was home for a week. The location is ideal. It's just a couple of blocks to Main Street- it's as close as the Crowne Plaza at a much better price, with more room, and even cleaner than the hotel! We enjoyed the entire week- being able to walk into town and around the lake, and being able to stay in and make dinner and watch a movie. Stay here! We know we'll be back...Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, tourists without a car, age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.
