Review Submitted: November 22, 2011 Date of Stay: November 2011 My husband and I have spent the last ten days having the most relaxing holiday that I have ever spent. We had visited Barbados the previous year and were full of good intentions of things that we wanted to do and places that we wanted to visit. We did nothing! We spent almost the entire holiday lazing around on the fabulous patio, watching the world go by or maybe if we were feeling particularly energetic, we made it into the sea. We had everything that we needed right there in the apartment. I wish that we had discovered the snorkelling masks before we bought some more, but no doubt they will come in again, next time we visit. Just because we did very little, that should not put off the visitor who might like to see the island. Transportation is very good and literally outside the door. I am not too sure that you would need a car, since the local facilities are fine and there is a wide selection of restaurants close by, many offering take away/delivery if you want to go back to the patio in the evening. As previously reported, Mark is an excellent host, providing everything that we might need. He was of invaluable help during our stay and we cannot thank him enough.Did you find this review helpful? Review Submitted: October 24, 2011 Date of Stay: October 2011 My husband and I stayed at Camelot during the first half of our honeymoon. We loved the house so much we didn't want to leave! Lower Camelot was really wonderful. The house was clean and very nice. Absolutely perfect location. Our favorite part of the house was the huge deck with plenty of shade. You are steps away from the beach and the lagoon is awesome!! We swam in the lagoon day and night and was able to snorkel around the rocks. Camelot is a little slice of heaven. Mark was very accomadating and easily accessible if we needed anything. The only thing Camelot was lacking was an outdoor BBQ grill. We hope to return someday soon!Did you find this review helpful? Review brought in from Home Away Holiday Rentals Review Submitted: June 23, 2011 This is a great apartment for two or a family with two young children, the beach is perfect and the lagoon ideal for small children. Location on Barbados is superb, close to Blakey's and Tapas for nice eating and "reggae" buses recommended. The owner, Mark is accesible but not intrusive. Easy reach of the racecourse, needhams point and Bridgetown. The apartment is part of a really well restored Barbados House, it is ver clean and well maintained, ideal when rented with the upper apartment or just as a stand alone apartment.Did you find this review helpful? Review brought in from Home Away Holiday Rentals Review Submitted: August 15, 2010 Me , my husband and 2 boys aged 12 & 14 stayed in Lower Camelot the 1st 2 weeks in Aug. There was plenty of space and the facilities were great. Would recommend it to everyone and we will be returning again! Mark was great and very flexible we booked at very short notice and he was very helpful and available if we needed him, he even gave us a lift to the supermarket the day we arrived as we had no car and there were 2 bank holidays the following days when it would be closed which we were very grateful for. The location is fantastic right on the beach the lagoon just outside was great to snorkell in, we fed the fish with bread every morning. It was popular with the locals as it is very safe for small children. The balcony was great to sit on out of the shade of the very hot midday sun Accra Beach just 10 mins walk down the board walk was our favourite beach some days the waves were big and we had great fun body boarding. We had no car but this was no problem using the ZR taxi's was my boys favourite thing to do they cost $1.50 per person per trip and you can hale them anywhere, be warned they cram you in and play reggae music loudly but that was half the fun! (there is also a bus stop just outside). The big supermarket is 20 mins walk away but has a free bus to return you home, there is also a garage and convienience store closeby that you can get milk etc. The local resturants were also good Just grilling (opposite the Accra beach hotel) do a great fish sandwich & Chefette also at Accra Beach was a tasty fast food alternativeDid you find this review helpful? Review brought in from Home Away Holiday rentals Review Submitted: August 1, 2010 We came to Barbados in July and stayed two weeks in Lower Camelot. Mark met us at the door and within fifteen minutes of arriving my kids (12 and 17) were swimming, snorkeling and having a blast. Lower Camelot is excellent and we would definitely recommend it to anyone. We loved the large balcony which we luckily had all to ourselves and thoroughly enjoyed sitting under the almond tree watching the ocean and the kids. There is a very nice shallow lagoon right in front of the house which is a very safe swimming area for toddlers. If you swim out beyond the rock barriers it is eventually over your head but it is still a very safe and very enjoyable to swim in. Early morning and evening dips in front of Camelot House are great! There is another rocky barrier further out which is underwater during high tide and a coral reef beyond that. My husband and son (17). enjoyed swimming out to the coral reef and exploring. Camelot House itself is wonderful with a great layout, and is very attractive. A good size for a family of four. We only used the air conditioning in the bedroom at night as the fans and the sea breeze made the house very comfortable. Kitchen is a galley kitchen and very functional. Outdoor shower is a great idea and the indoor bathroom although on the small size was very nice. Location was excellent. Five minutes along the beach to Coconut Court Hotel/Restaurant/Bar and a 15-20 minute walk along the boardwalk to Rockly Beach which is a wonderful beach. Actually it is easy to get to nearly all the beaches from Camelot House. Just step outside the house and the bus stop is just a few steps away. We never rented a car because the bus system here is so easy and inexpensive. It was so great to go off for the day experiencing the wonderful beaches and activities of Barbados and then come back to this lovely house! The Boardwalk which is again just steps away was also a pleasant surprise and we used it for morning walks or jogs and evening strolls to restaurants. There are other nice restaurants within a ten minute walk along the main road going towards the Hilton and St. Lawrence Gap is a five to ten minute bus ride away. Mark, the owner, was very helpful, friendly and very informative. The house was very clean and very well maintained. We would definitely come back to Barbados and would love to stay at Lower Camelot again! We all had a wonderful time!Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0
