I remember every summer growing up vividly, because we went back to the same house at the beach for years. In fact, it was like seeing an old friend after another year at school. We had changed, but the old house was still the same quaint and cozy home that we'd been dreaming of getting back to all year long. That is our goal in sharing our little slice of paradise with you......Welcome Home!
This cozy North Pacific Beach cottage is centrally located and walking distance to all. Coffee in the lush, quiet garden, a beach cruiser ride around the bay, walk to the beach for some surf and sun, BBQ on your private patio, stroll down Garnet Ave. for some nightlife, curl up with a book , watch a movie or surf the web....it's all there for you.
This charming 1940's 2 bedroom home is tastefully decorated for your pleasure. Hardwood floors and plantation shutters accent the old world plaster walls with decorative architectural designs. Cable TV and Wi-Fi Internet throughout the entire house. Completely remodeled bathroom with travertine shower and floors. Fully stocked kitchen for your cooking pleasure, or walk 2 blocks for countless dining choices.
The spacious backyard, with it's lush tropical setting, is perfect for reading a book, taking a nap, or entertaining around the BBQ. Outdoor shower to rinse off the sand after a day at the beach. Surfboards, boogie boards, cooler, beach towels....it's all there just waiting for you.

Dear Tom and Family, My family and I had a wonderful time at your holiday home. It was perfect for our needs. The house was beautifully decorated, with a kitchen stocked with useful utensils....made cooking feel almost like home. We loved P.B. town and all the interesting "finds". We made full use of the boogie boards and the outside shower was fantastic. My son was sad to leave, as were all of us. It means we had a lovely vacation. We had a wonderful stay at the PB cottage. The accommodations were just as described. We appreciated all that was provided; backyard with hammock & BBQ, outdoor shower, beach amenities, remodeled bathroom, washer/dryer, and comfy beds for the family. We loved the proximity to the beach, shopping, restaurants and nightlife. Tom was helpful and very responsive to our questions/needs. We will definitely be back!!Recommended for: Sightseeing, tourists without a car, girls getaway, families with young children, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with teenagers.

The home was well appointed, comfortable, sparkling clean and in the most perfect location we could ask for. The beach is a 3-4 minute walk, there are two markets within a minute-walk, and tons of restaurants, bars, and shops right around the corner. The home is far enough from the main road to be quiet and serene at night. It's the perfect place for a mellow family holiday. The yard is beautifully landscaped and perfect for BBQing and eating outside. All the beach gear you need is available-- folding chairs, a sand castle kit, cooler, surf boards, boogie boards, and a couple of bikes (one for adult, one for child), plus a cart if you need it. Balboa Park was a 10 minute drive, and La Jolla is less than 5 minutes drive. Tom and Astrid were super attentive and welcoming. We didn't want to leave!Recommended for: Sightseeing, tourists without a car, girls getaway, families with young children, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with teenagers.

Year Purchased: 1991
About the owner: I moved to San Diego in 1986 with the Navy and have been here ever since. I bought the house in 1991 and lived on Emerald St. for the next 11 years. I married my wife Astrid in 2001 and we have 2 very active boys Jack (9) and Finn (7). We live less than a mile from Emerald and stay in touch with friends and neighbors as we manage the property ourselves.
Why the Owner Chose Pacific Beach:
The central location is hard to beat. We are far enough away from the beach to beat the crowds and still enjoy our quiet street, yet close enough to be there in 5 minutes. The bay is perfect for taking the beach cruisers out for an easy ride around it(or rollerblade...way back when!) The proximity of Trader Joe's and Henry's market 1 block away is perfect. My wife Astrid, who is Dutch, used to shop daily for our meals (a very European thing to do to ensure freshness) We miss that convenience.
The Unique Benefits at this Cottage:
Just walk out the front door to get your groceries at the Henrey's Market and Trader Joe's or do a little shopping at the many casual shops here on Garnet Ave (just a block away from the house) Have lunch at one of the many great eateries and enjoy a day at the beach.
