  We started out planning our trip for our daughters 21st birthday to Key West. It turned out to be a birthday/family reunion. There were 8 in our party, age 21 to 77, and the consensus is Home! All agreed that it felt like Home. The pictures reflect the property but, we know pictures just don't do justice. Leah has made an incredible paradise for people to have a wonderful vacation. The grounds reflect her hard work to show the beauty of the Keys. Lots of fun in the kayaks. Plenty of beach towels, no need to waste the packing space. The pool is awesome, along with the hot tub. All the kitchen amenities that you could need. The BEDS are so comfortable. Every one slept very well. Lots of room for a big family. Gorgeous sunrises from all decks. Bamboo Palms is close to Key West which makes it the ideal place to stay. Very private and relaxing. Already talking about going back. Next time we want to stay for two weeks. LOTS to do and see.

• Absolutely Perfect!

  It's hard to add anything to the other reviews as they are all accurate in their descriptions. Our children and families joined us for a week at Bamboo Palms and we had a blast (7 of us total). Even tho the weather was a little cool and breezy, the sun and blue skies more than made up for it. And it didn't keep anyone out of the pool and hot tub. Leah is kind enough to keep the pool heated enough to be used in any kind of weather. The house is very comfortable and has many spots to hide for a little privacy if needed. A fully stocked kitchen and laundry room. Lots and lots of pool towels. Leah had the house totally supplied from paper products right down to spices in the cupboard. We only needed to bring our food. Lots of fun on the kayaks and paddle board. Lots of excursions into Key West and north to Big Pine Key and areas. We were centrally located. As stated before, the landscaping is absolutely gorgeous. At night, it's like a fairy wonderland with all the lights on (according to our granddaughter). After a lovely walk to the end of the dock one night, it seemed like the stars were hanging just out of touch. The widows walk is a wonderful place to have a cup of coffee, relax and watch the sun rise. When we asked the family what would they do different - 2 responses. "Nothing - it was absolutely perfect" and "Make it a week longer". The kids did go to 'Strike Zone' at MM29 and went diving and snorkeling. They raved about this company, their good customer service and the trip they took. Check them out if you are planning on any water fun. We would love to go back some day and hope to do so. Leah is a wonderful hostess and lives in Paradise. So nice of her to share it with us :) She was readily available to answer any questions and provide help if we needed it (which we didn't).

  My husband and I have been traveling to the Keys for many years and have rented many homes in which to vacation. . Bamboo Palms was a totally exciting experience for us. It is a gorgeous, tropical oasis, not merely a house. As you drive through the gates onto the cobblestone driveway, you feel as though you have arrived at a beautiful retreat with grounds, not a house with a yard. Leah and Nathaniel have created an oasis, that as Leah puts it, is "Rustic Elegance with a West Indies feel." They are the most accomodating, fun, and resourceful couple we have ever rented from. Leah decorates so beautifully and everything is so together, you will feel so at home!!! We loved the beauty, furnishings and art of the house itself - the feeling of being up in the trees was great, so many decks and porches, pool and hot tub beautifully decorated too! The fruit trees, palm trees, lighting, just general beauty.... of the entire acreage was WOW!!! Then, when you think you have seen it all - you can travel out to the dock and enjoy kayaking - we had never done it and it is a blast! We live on a lake in Connecticut and I think we now need kayaks. Many pleasant surprises you discover about this wonderful home will have you wanting to come back again.... we will for sure!!! Best time we every had in the Keys!!!! P.S. We were in Florida for Fantasy Fest, however, rarely left the house it was so fabulous!

  Thank you Leah for allowing us to stay at your beautiful home. Even though we were a large group, with ages ranging from 9 to 79 your home fit us perfectly. The youngest in our group enjoyed playing in the pool until the late evening, all of us enjoyed fishing from the dock, from there we saw rays, baracuda, horseshoe crabs, lion fish, shark, parrot fish, snapper and other various fishes. We all took turns on the kayaks, including the standing one. My daughter in law found her new passion in a kayak on the water. The youngest (boys) found a multitude of lizards to catch, providing hours of entertainment. All of us slept well and had ample room to cook and eat our meals together. Thank you again for the key lime pie waiting for us in the fridge.

  The house, setting -- and hospitality -- far exceeded our expectations. We are two families who have been to the Keys often. We had a difficult set of criteria to satisfy -- comfortable for seven, including 3 children ranging frrom 2 1/2 to age 13, a dock for a fishing boat, good access to the backcountry and the ocean, a nice pool, hot tub, a feeling of privacy and seclusion, and all the modern amenities. Bamboo Palms was perfect! The house itself is wonderful. It's large and well equipped, with beaufiful views. The upstairs has nice water views. It's very private. The beds were huge and comfortable. All surfaces are wood, with tasteful upscale Keys decor. The screened in dining room overlooking the pool is fabulous. It has a "tree house" feel to it. The dock includes a new kayak dock, with easy launching. Great kayaking (with kayaks included!) right off the dock. The kids loved fishing from the dock for Mangrove Snapper. The dock is connected to the house by a long walkway through tropical grounds. There are chairs on the dock for watching the sunset, and tiki umbrellas. It's an easy, well lit walk to the house, with carts provided for gear. There is a bait freezer at the house. It's the perfect fishing/snorkeling set up. Looe Key is 1/2 hr or so by boat from the bridge. Leah did everything possible to make us feel welcome, and even lent us some missing gear. The place was spotless, from the pool to the new grill and new fridge (which included a welcome Key Lime Pie). She takes pride in her home, and it shows. She genuinely wants everything to be perfect, and for you to have a great time. The pool is very private. We didn't need a thing -- towels and floats were at the ready. We cooked our catch by the pool and ate under the stars. The pool was so nice and warm, (heated) we didn't use the hot tub. It's a 30-40 min trip to Key West for restaurants and action, and it's about 30 mins to Bahia Honda for a nice beach. Check out Murray's for a gourment deli, etc. Leah has a welcome book with local recommnendations for everthing. Everything is close at hand, but far enough removed so that you feel like you're away from it all. Although it was nice to be close to "attractions," we rarely left the house and dock except for boating. Be sure to visit Marvin Key. Watch the tides so you return with good water. It's like the Bahamas! We will be back again. We wouldn't change a thing.

  Bamboo Palms is a wonderful and really cozy house on Sugarloaf Key! It was very clean, and well-maintained. The owners were very helpful and recommended many restaurants and places to do outdoor activities. We will suggest this property to all our friends and people asking and will come back in any case!

  I just wanted to express my thoughts on this lovely home and the spectacular time we had at Bamboo Palms house in July 2011. The pictures alone dont do justice to this property. The home is breath taking with wood floors,ceilings through out the entire house. When you enter this property you forget time and enjoy all their is to offer in the keys, I have 3 children and they fell in love with Bamboo Palms House, swimming in the heated pool to fishing mangrove snappers right from the private dock, Cable was availalbe 24hrs a day in case they got bored. extra plus on that one... We will defiantley be back next year and hope my review serves as enough convinving to visit Bamboo Palms house. All the best M&M
