Looking for something a little different for your lakeside vacation? Escape to Sycamore Landing. The 165 feet of level lakefront gives you plenty of elbow room and unobstructed vistas of the Bristol Mountains and a 180 degree lake view of the quiet south end of beautiful Canandaigua Lake. The private, well maintained, gravel road minimizes traffic and maximizes privacy. Retreat from the daily grind and enjoy lake living in an incredible natural setting for a week or just a long weekend. Our traditional lake cottage offers everything from boating, swimming, kayaking and fishing to experiencing a world where bald eagles fly from their nearby nesting grounds, hummingbirds flock to your window daily, ducks and geese wander and herons stand watch in the marshlands at the end of the lake. Artists, writers or those just seeking a refuge come rejuvenate and relax under the large sycamore tree which beckons you to sit and soak up the incredible beauty of Canandaigua Lake and rolling hillsides.
Simply walk out the door and in a few steps you are at the water. Use the permanent deck to soak up some sun or catch your dinner. The screened front porch provides you the traditional “lake” feeling - have a meal, a cool drink or just relax and read a good book (and maybe fall asleep!) while gazing out on a panoramic view of the lake. The sliding glass door from the porch leads to the indoor living space with large windows featuring spectacular lake views welcoming you to relax without taking you away from the lake. Sleep sofa offers additional sleeping options. Our eat-in kitchen is fully stocked with everything you need to prepare meals. Enjoy your morning coffee as you sit at the dinette and watch the resident hummingbirds flock to the multiple feeders. A washer and dryer are located right off the kitchen for your convenience. Down the hallway are 2 bedrooms and a full, modern bath. The master bedroom overlooks the lake while still being shaded by our lovely sycamore tree. The 2nd bedroom offers a view of the cliffs behind our cottage and can sleep two with the supplied roll-a-way bed.
The yard offers multiple grassy level areas to play yard games, stretch out under the sun or enjoy a bon fire. The front yard offers plenty of room for lounging lakeside, while the back yard is great for barbecuing (gas grill available) and viewing the picturesque cliffs. In the springtime or after a heavy rain, enjoy our spectacular 80+ foot waterfall! Just a few steps up to the large side yard, yields additional space for a tent, yard games or second bon fire pit with spectacular vistas of the south end of the lake.
Bring your boat and use the available mooring whips installed on the permanent dock for your use. Woodville boat launch just across the lake makes for an easy launch and there is room for trailer storage at the cottage during your stay.
Fisherman can get a hassle-free, early morning start from this ideal location. Ice fisherman can easily launch their efforts from our dock or shore.
Kayakers love this location. Enjoy the calm open lake water of the south end or venture into the West River Marsh and enjoy up to 4 miles of easy paddling while you spot bald eagles, herons, turtles and more! Bring your own kayak or use the ones provided.
Sycamore Landing makes a terrific home base for land lover activities as well. Downhill skiers are just 20 minutes from Bristol Mountain and XC skiers have numerous ski trails available including those in the Hi Tor Management Area, Cumming Nature Center and Bristol Mountain. Hikers can choose all types of hiking experiences from novice to challenging including the Parish Glen / Conklin Gully (12 Waterfalls). Hunters can use the lakeside setting as base camp while hunting their favorite public hunting grounds.
We chose this location because it is “the road less traveled”, yet still centered among a wide variety of activities and amenities. Canandaigua offers convenient shopping, waterparks, and historic landmarks, while Naples (15 min.) is home to a wonderful artisan community that offers everything from wood carvings to watercolor paintings and everything in between. Looking for a home base for your wine tours? We are just a short run to many of the finest wineries on Keuka and Seneca Lake wineries.
During your stay at Sycamore Landing you will always feel “connected” to the lake and nature, whether you are inside or out, engaging in activities on the lake or off, or just looking for some rest and relaxation with one of the most picturesque settings in the world. We know you’ll enjoy your stay.

I was certainly lucky when I found the listing for sycamore landing on the VRBO web-site. From the begging the owner was verry pleasent to deal with. what a wonderfull place . It looked like we were the first people to stay there the furniture carpets t.v.(HD) batheroom and kitchen looked all new. The views from every window was spectacular, from the lake to the waterfall and the country road . While we were there we saw ducks ,geese, deer, beaver, and my personal favorite was an eagle fishing for dinner a sight I will never forget ! I would certainly recomend Sycamore Landing to freinds and family. If you are a fisherman the fishing is great right off the pier/dock. I plan to spend many more vacations at Sycamore LandingRecommended for: Sightseeing, age 55+, adventure seekers, girls getaway, romantic getaway.
