Hatteras Holiday is located in picturesque Hatteras Village. This 2 bedroom 2 bath cottage is just steps from the beach. You can park your car, relax, and begin to enjoy island living. Ride your bike or walk to artisan shops, art galleries, marinas, restaurants, and the Ocracoke Ferry Landing.
Hatteras Holiday is perfect for a couple or a small family. Everything you need for your vacation is here. Two lots back from the ocean, the beach is just steps away across a community boardwalk. You can walk for hours on our beautiful, unspoiled beaches or you can just relax under your umbrella and read that book you’ve been saving for the beach. Water sports enthusiasts can kiteboard, kayak, windsurf, or even parasail.
Fishermen can fish from the surf or charter a day trip at one of the marinas. There is a lighted fish cleaning table for preparing your catch for dinner. A locked storage area under the house makes it easy for you to stow your boogie boards, kites, or fishing gear. Chairs, beach umbrellas, and sandcastle building toys are provided for you.
Our home is nicely furnished and includes a roomy combined living/dining area. A well equipped modern kitchen has a large refrigerator with an icemaker, a microwave, and a dishwasher. The laundry is a separate room adjacent to the living area.
The screened porch off the kitchen, through sliding glass doors, is popular with all our guests. There is a big table and chairs on the screened porch that provides a space for outdoor dining .
Well furnished outdoor decks are comfortable for sunbathers and sunsets.
For entertainment, there are three televisions and DVD players, and a video library with a nice variety of movies. There is also a stereo system and an Ipod docking station. Charter Cable, high speed Internet, and WiFi are all included.
The two bedrooms are comfortable with good quality bedding. One has a queen size bed and the other has a full size platform bed with a memory foam mattress and twin beds with new mattresses. All beds have mattress pads, pillows and quilts.
Linens are available from Shore Details at your request, or you can bring yours from home.
There are two full bathrooms, plus an outdoor shower room with hot water for rinsing off after a day on the beach.
We want you to have a good vacation at a reasonable cost. The basic weekly rental is just that. You pay the basic fee, and tax. No additional charges for anything. The $200 security deposit will be in the mail for you just as soon as you depart.
Hatteras Holiday is a Shore Details house. The folks at Shore Details make sure your house is clean when you check in. They are also available to help you with any maintenance problems during your stay.

- Hatteras Holiday is close to the ferry landing for scenic, historic Ocracoke Island, with its beautiful beaches and many fine restaurants. The ferry is free. You can stay all day and discover Ocracoke. Charter fishing is something you can and should do. The marinas, steps from Hatteras Holiday will take care of you every need and desire. The Cape Hatteras Lighthouse is 12 miles north at Buxton. There is a lifeguarded public beach at the Lighthouse, and a public beach with parking, showers, and a boardwalk to the beach at Frisco. Kill Devil Hills, home to the Wright Brothers Historical Memorial is 48 miles north. The aquarium is in Manteo, 45 miles northwest, as well as Roanoake Island Festival Park and Elizabethan Gardens. Kiteboarding and Paddle boarding lessons are available on Hatteras Island, Kayaks can be rented as well. On the beach you can walk, surf, hunt for shipwrecks, or just relax.

April - May $625 per week plus tax June, July, August $1175 per week plus tax September - November $625 per week plus tax We accept cash, personal checks, and money orders. Security Deposit $200 due December 15. One half of rental fee due December 15. Remaining half of rental fee due 30 days prior to stay.

Why the Owner Chose Hatteras VillageAfter Hurricane Isabel we decided to buy a rental property. Hatteras Holiday was available and we were able to purchase it, known then as Shellfinder. We live in Buxton and had always vacationed in Frisco, so Hatteras, only ten miles away, was a learning experience for us. We have learned to love Hatteras and spend many days at Hatteras Holiday. Our children and grandchildren think of our cottage as their vacation home. The neighborhood is wonderful, made up of vacationers and summer residents. It is safe, quiet, and welcoming, a great place for anyone who wants to get away from hectic every day life and relax.
The Unique Benefits at this CottageHatteras is a village, home to many of our local people and charter boat families. There is a grocery store, a hardware, good restaurants, a library, a museum, the Coast Guard base, great marinas, and quiet island living. You can walk to everything in Hatteras or you can ride your bike anywhere. If you like more excitement, you can drive an hour to Nags Head for shopping and golf. If you want to step back in time, you can take the free ferry to Ocracoke and spend the day.

Hatteras Island is home to us. We are retired schoolteachers from Ohio who have vacationed here for 45 years. When we had the opportunity we built a home and moved here. After ten years, we still love this island we call home and look forward to many years of happy island living.

Every bit of our stay at 'Hatteras Holiday' was perfect. The drive into Hatteras is beautiful. We turned onto our street and saw a lovely neighborhood. Drove up to our address and found a perfect little house. This house is situated in the perfect spot, right near the ferry across the sound, very close to the ocean, away from the main drag. The house itself was very clean and neat. Two beds, two baths perfect for a small family. We were completely satisfied with our dealings with John and our stay at 'Hatteras Holiday'. Thank you John and Pat!

My husband and I and our two children have stayed in this cottage for three vacations and absolutely love it! It has everything we need to relax and enjoy the beach. Most importantly it is so clean!! The sreened in porch and deck were great for dinners and just enjoying the ocean breeze. We also enjoyed the convenience to the beach...just over the boardwalk and through the dunes. It is also just a walk to Hatteras Landing and the Ferry...so convenient. We will definitely vaction here again!!!

We thoroughly enjoyed our visit for the Thanksgiving holiday. Hatteras Holiday was comfortable, very clean and cozy. Loved sitting on the deck and looking at the stars. Short walk to a great beach.
