Lincoln Park house description

Welcome to Lill Manor for the Arts in the heart of the bustling DePaul University area of Lincoln Park. Lill Street is a quiet, kid-friendly, tree-lined residential street nestled in between 2 parks. 1-block away is the famous Lincoln/Sheffield intersection, home of the best bars and restaurants in Chicago. You are 2 blocks from bustling Fullteron Avenue and and the 'el' stop where Division Street/Michigan Avenue is 2 stops south, Millennium Park is 4 stops south, and Wrigley Field is 2 stops north!

The house itself is a beautiful and historic 'painted lady' dating from 1890. The residence offers a combined two suites which together boast 8 BR and 4 bath. (Suite 1 has 4BR and Suite 2 has 4BR). The beautiful first floor suite, our largest, contains three queen beds and one full bed while the second floor suite contains two queen beds and two twin beds.

While we only offer monthly leases to be fully in compliance with city ordinances, our pricing is compellingly structured to compete with hotels. Our pricing is $2000-7000 per stay, depending on the season, availability, and demand.

We also offer a very special Lill Manor Art Patron Residency Package. Lill Street has long been an important art destination in Chicago with the famous Lill Street Art Center located nearby for many years. In recent years the Manor has been used as an Artist in Residency destination for some of the world's most prestigious artists. The Manor is home to an important art collection. For those of our guests who aspire to be Patrons of the Arts, we have a very special program in which our guests pre-select artwork from our curated collection of leading artists of the world, and we make arrangements for those particular pieces to be 'in residence' at the home during your stay! All artwork is available for sale in support of our long term plan to turn the Lill Manor for the Arts into a museum. The Art Patron Residency also includes visits to Chicago's finest museums, galleries, and private visits to artist studios. Guests who have already signed a lease to stay at the Manor may inquire for details on the Patron Art Residency premium upgrade.

My friends and I stayed in Suite 1 in August and can wholeheartedly recommend Lill Manor. Russ is easy to work with and responsive. The house is gorgeous and very charming, with high ceilings and beautiful bedrooms and bathrooms, decorated nicely and plenty of linens provided. We grilled on the patio one night and made breakfast each morning in the well-stocked kitchen. The house key is smartly provided in a lock box which allows people from our large group to come and go as they please without worrying about keys. The location is perfect, we walked to Wrigley both days. Near Fullerton there's also a bike rental station available for those who prefer to see Chicago on 2 wheels. Several times we walked to the grocery store/liquor store on Fullerton to stock our supplies, so close and convenient. The experience you get in this setting is far superior to a hotel/motel. Will definitely stay at Lill Manor again. Thanks for the great weekend!

A large group of friends and I stayed in Suite 1 for a bachelor party. The apartment was equipped with everything we needed and the location was awesome. Easily sleeps more than 12, and everything is in walking distance. Several great places to eat and local bars close by. Russ and Alisha were both very responsive during the entire stay and the process was very easy to get book, pay and stay. Awesome patio in the back as well that allows for a place to gather. Would for sure stay here again. Much better than a hotel.

This apartment was PERFECT! We go to Chicago several times a year with family. This apartment was very comfortable for 6 people, clean, wonderful location - near grocery store, bars, restaurants and the EL. I would totally stay here again hands down. The managing staff was fabulous too - answered all of my questions and were very responsive.

10 college friends from all over the country found this property perfect for a long awaited get together. Russ and Alisha were both very responsive during the entire process. The property has a fantastic location in the Lincoln Park/Depaul neighborhood - many places to walk for food & drink. Wrigleyville just a mile and half away - nice walk as well. I would definitely recommend - allows larger groups to congregate comfortably.

We stayed at Lill Manor for a bachelor party and had a great experience throughout. The owner was very responsive and prepared us well with information on parking, internet, door access, etc. The unit is extremely spacious (easily sleeps 8-12), was clean and fit our group well. The house is within walking distance of many good bars and restaurants, but is also on a quiet street with a large park. Would highly recommend this place for large groups looking to explore the city.

My family recently stayed in both units of Lill Manor for a reunion in Chicago. I live and work here in the city so I can say that the location is one of the biggest selling points of the house. You're very close to the L (about a 5-10 minute walk) so you really don't need a car if you're staying here. The neighborhood is quiet (at least in late July) and there are playgrounds at both ends of the street. I really liked that my family got to experience staying in a real Chicago house while they were here instead of nondescript hotel room. It's long and skinny just nearly every other house on the block. The rooms are clean and comfortable, a little small, but that's a Chicago house! The kitchens (there's one on both levels) were big enough for all of us, and we could gather in one of the two living rooms. If you have a large group, keep in mind that one of the queen size beds is in the basement. In our case, no one felt comfortable staying down there so we didn't use it. With the hot summer, it was necessary that the house had A/C, which was a plus for staying in a renovated house like this. The property manager was very friendly and responsive. I took a tour of the house a few months before the reunion, and she showed me around. Also, when we checked-in and had questions about the keys and Wi-fi, she emailed me back very quickly. One more item to note, we had a few cars coming into town (since there were 14 people staying in the house), and since the street parking is by permits, each car needed a sticker each day. There were a limited number left at the house so we had to move some of the cars to the neighborhood (non-permitted) where I live until the end of the reunion. If you have one or two cars, it shouldn't be a problem. Overall, it was a very positive experience, and I'd recommend it to friends, family, or anyone visiting Chicago!

We were a group of 12 college friends reuniting in Chicago for a wedding and wanted to all stay together. It was impossible to find a place that was willing to rent for a weekend... most required 3-5 nights stays. Russ' property looked perfect and it actually IS perfect. The apts look even better in person and the pictures do not capture how spacious the space is b/c the ceilings are soaring (I'm not sure if they were 10 or 11 ft). Everyone had more than enough space, both apts were immaculate and the location was incredibly easy to navigate. There were two additional single beds we didn't even use. None of us had cars and we were concerned about getting cabs especially with 12 people, but we walked 2 blocks over to a main road and never had to wait more than a minute. We didn't spend a ton of time in the neighborhood due to wedding activities, but the free time we did have we spent at really good brunch spots (batter & berries is fabulous!), restaurants (Noodles in the Pot has authentic, delicious thai) and shops on Lincoln. Most importantly, the house was a place we could and wanted to spend time together in a warm, homey environment. We had a hiccup in our reservation to start but Russ addressed it immediately and his team was very responsive when we first arrived. It's the perfect space for a crew large or small since you can rent one apt or both and Russ was a pleasure to deal with. This was my first VRBO booking and it was as smooth as possible! Thanks Russ!

Our stay at LillManor was excellent. The house had everything you could possibly need and was very clean. We were able to walk to restaurants and even a Cubs game. Street parking was plentiful and easy. This is one of the best properties I have stayed at and we are looking forward to returning in the future.

About the owner: Your owners, Russ and Lucy, have been in Chicago since 1989. Russ went to Northwestern and also studied business at the University of Chicago. He is passionate about Chicago and especially the spicy restaurants and the cycling scene.

Why the Owner Chose Lincoln Park:
I wanted to combine the grace and elegance of Lill Street -- full of stately homes and kid-friendly parks, with the action and night life of Lincoln Park just steps away. Key to this purchase also was the el being a 3 block walk.

The Unique Benefits at this House:
Lill Manor for the Arts is a perfect place for groups of 4-14. We have two beautiful and reasonably priced suites within a wonderful historic home. Whether your group is a family with kids or grandparents, executives at a retreat, or bachelors and bachelorettes seeking fame and fortune in our great town, Lill Manor combines all the elements you need: a B&B-style home on a quiet street, steps from the action and close to the el.
