If you're looking for a private, pet friendly, real life New Mexico experience; this place is for you. Actually located just outside of Chimayo this is a great location for visiting local artisans, good dining, and stars at night. The owners are gracious, very knowledgeable, and non-intrusive. We highly recommend the breakfast option; very reasonably priced and made from their farm-fresh ingredients. The Santuario de Chimayo is just down the road, as are many artisans, especially weavers. Rancho de Chimayo is a great place for dinner. We took the high road to Taos, visited Bandelier National Monument and the Jemez Mountains in easy day trips. Our experience here reminded us of our time spent in an "agriturismo" in Europe; warm, personal touches abound in this granny flat. It offers limited communications ability--spotty cell service, no convenient wifi, and a mini kitchen. However, plenty of peace and quite, extensive hiking opportunity, communing with nature, and night skies peppered with stars.Recommended for: Sightseeing, people with disabilities, pet owners, adventure seekers, age 55+.
Owner response: Thanks Peter and Becky. We loved having you visit. Stay in touch!!!
