  We responded to this add, arrived late at night as predicted, and had been directed not to apt advertised, but to a filthy tiny apt with bugs. caution to those who rent from this person

  We have stayed in Kailua many times. For a value-priced rental, this place is wonderful. Dan and his family were very accommodating of our few requests. It is conveniently located to the beach and to Kailua town, on a bus line for those who chose not to rent a car. We have always rented a car to have maximum freedom; parking is tight, but adequate for our compact car. We would definitely be interested in staying again; we might rent the larger unit for additional room for visitors. We love dining and shopping in Kailua and the beach park lives up to its reputation as one of the world's best beaches.

  Thank you Dan for your hospitality. We appreciated that you let us borrow beach towels, etc, and that you were so friendly yet laid back. The large one bedroom was beautiful, and had plenty of room for our one year old to crawl around the place. Thanks again! We had a wonderful vacation.

  We are a married couple age around 50, who stayed 10 nights. The location is very good, close to shopping and beach, and for excursions, You can manage without, but it is preferred to have a car. Apartment has plenty of space, but was originally not built as an apartment for living, so it is nice sober and workable but perhaps not 'cosy'. Bed was very comfortable. The small garden is very nice to relax in. Do not expect a full kitchen, as it is not, but the cooker/kitchen area is OK for purpose, we could cook for 4. The owner (&family) is very friendly, knowlegable and helpful. A pleasure to deal with the owner, we felt very welcome. The few requests we had were all met without any problem. Also nice that basic beach equipment was provided to us. If you have doors and windows open at night, there can be a bit of traffic noice from the street, e.g in the morning, but not so that it bothered us.. We never tried the AC (No need, temp was perfect anyway). All in all, a very positive experience, and we certainly would not hestitate to come back to the same place. Göran from Sweden

  The studio itself was perfect for my needs! I was traveling alone visiting friends that are stationed on base. There was parking available for my local friends to visit and also was located just accross the street from the bus stop so I didn't need to worry about renting a car. He also has a smaller studio on the property if there is additional space needed for larger parties. The owner is very friendly and accommodating and I would highly recommend this property for anyone visiting the windward side of the island!
