Living room with deluxe sofabed & window opening out to private terrace.
Location: Paris Arrondissement 9, Paris, Ile-de-France (Paris Area), France, Europe (Located in the lively, trendy, funky 9th arrondissement!)
Accommodations: Apartment, Studio + Convertible Bed(s), 1 Bath (Sleeps 2-4)
Welcome to our intimate, peaceful hideaway tucked inside a typical Parisian building on the rue de Douai, just beside the front slope of Montmartre and the bright lights of the Moulin Rouge.
This airy studio has high ceilings (3 meters high!) and large windows, opening out onto a small, private terrace (photo with red umbrella shows the terrace and furniture). The terrace is the perfect escape for a relaxing break from the city and a glass of wine in the afternoon...or anytime! The apartment sleeps 2-4 adults, with a high-quality double bed in the bedroom nook and a deluxe double sofabed designed for daily use which is as comfortable as a traditional bed. The bedroom area also has plenty of storage (behind the white curtain in the photo) for both hanging and folding clothing, and the curtains in front close for privacy.
The large eat-in kitchen features full-size appliances (four-burner stove, oven, clothes washer/dryer, refrigerator with freezer) and accesses the courtyard and bathroom. NOTE: The kitchen has a new dining table with four chairs - not pictured yet. The modern bathroom has a sink, vanity area with storage, toilet and is equipped with a large bathtub with shower.
Step outside the apartment and you'll find your new neighborhood to lively, convenient, funky and increasingly trendy. The area is bursting with boulangeries, greengrocers, fromageries, boucheries, wine vendors, flower shops - as well several modern grocery stores making it easy to purchase the essentials for feeling at home in the apartment. Just outside the door and to your left you'll find the sweet little park at Square Berlioz, accross from the excellent boulangerie Le Cocqulicot. Take a two-minute walk north you'll find yourselves in Montmartre on the market street rue Lepic and cafes and shopping on rue des Abesses. A two-minute walk also leads you to two different metro stops (Blanche or Place de Clichy) and several bus stops (74, 68, 80, 95, 30, 54) which will take you anywhere in Paris quickly and easily.
I look forward to greeting you in Paris and helping you settle into your new petit paradise on rue de Douai!

Paris is the most beautiful city in the world! Who wouldn't want a second home in a city filled with amazing food, architecture and culture?
The Unique Benefits of this Apartment
Having a private outdoor space is an unusual treat in Paris! I hope guests use and enjoy the terrace as often as possible. The apartment is also unique in that it is on the ground floor but is very quiet as it is tucked back on the courtyard side of the building. It also happens to get plenty of good light due to the terrace, which is a luxury in any Parisian apartment!

A cosy, quiet retreat from the hustle and bustle of Paris

This is the 4th apartment I have rented from Frenchy Rentals and each apartment has their own unique personality and charm. This Studio apartment comes with a very firm comfortable bed and a just as comfortable sofa bed. I experienced sleeping in both beds since I travelled with a friend for the first half of my holiday and I took the sofa bed for the first part of the stay. One of the main reasons I chose this flat was because it had a full sized bath so that the end of each day I could take long hot soaks to ease my tired muscles. It was great to discover the apartment has lots of hot water ! Another factor was the small terrace that provided an added dimension to our living space. Unfortunately it was a very cold and wet April so we sat out only once , but if the weather had been drier and warmer it would have been used often. The kitchen was outfitted with enough dishes, pots, pans, oven mitt, cooking implements, etc... that you could easily prepare a sumptuous meal for 4 people. The large fridge and full sized freezer and full sized oven made it easy to prepare meals. I travel on a budget and eat breakfast in the apartment every morning and I pack picnic lunches and prepare at least half my evening meals in , and then I am able to splurge several times eating out at really nice mid priced cafes. The apartment was located down a long hallway so that it was very quiet and you could not hear ANY street noises and we only heard footsteps coming from the tenants above on 3 occasions. The Montmartre area is my most favourite place to stay in because it is packed with sights to see, museums, shops and endless cafes to spend your evenings sipping on wine and soaking up the atmosphere. Since I usually travel solo I have always found it a very safe neighbourhood. The main reason I keep coming back to Frenchy Rentals is because of the personal service I receive from Paula. She lives in the Montmartre area, speaks fluent English and French , and I know that if ever I had an emergency I am confident she would come to my rescue. Thankfully, in the last 4 years, I have not had anything happen ! Paula makes the rental process very easy, I have used PayPal to pay the rental fee and I find it to be a very safe and secure way of transferring money, and the damage deposit was also paid this way and it was always returned within 2 weeks although last year it was back in my account in two days ! I will be using Paula again in 2013

Our family of four stayed in this apartment for a week. We loved the location, the charming decor, the comfortable beds and the super nice owner. Especially nice was the little outdoor patio that we enjoyed for eating all the wonderful take out food in the neighborhood. Paris is fabulous and this is a very nice alternative to a hotel for a small family.

This lovely studio apartment is a real find, a wonderful place to stay. Booking was seamless and Paula's welcoming attitude adds to the excitement as you plan your trip. The apartment was easy to find and the instructions sent through to get into the building were easy to follow. And it was nice to get a personal welcome after a our journey With metro stop Blanche really close this place makes all of Paris really accessible. It's about a minute walk to the station and all the local facilities you need. There is a big supermarket on the corner with an ATM, and bakery and lots of fresh food shops, cafes and Restaurants over on rue Lepic. There is a cinema at the end of the road when you turn left which seems to show one English speaking film a night - if you happen to having nothing to do one evening (which is unlikely but worth knowing about!) The things that make this place really special and better than other apartments we looked at in this price range are a full kitchen, a bath, a real bed (not just a sofa bed) and the perfect little courtyard. Paula has thought of everything you could ever need in the kitchen, there's a big fridge and freezer, coffee machine and lots of pots and pans. She has even been thoughtful enough to include a picnic bag which we found so useful for our days, and evenings, out. The bed is wonderfully comfortable and nicely cordoned off from the living space. And the bath was a real luxury after spending hours wondering round the city. There is so much to see in Paris it's difficult to know what to recommend, you can't go far wrong hopping on and off the metro, and a carnet of 10 tickets is the cheapest way to get around. In the evenings it was easy to pack a bottle of wine in the picnic bag and head of somewhere like the Troccadero to see the Eiffel tower (be there on the hour in the evening to see its light twickleling away. Its also so easy to get back to the apartment if you just need a rest for a few hours in the day before heading off to explore again All in all, can't fault the place. Thanks Paula
