Perfection!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, families with young children, sightseeing.
Owner response: ........and this was in response to a major snowstorm ! Summer is in many ways "easier" than winter, and we hope you will visit Vermont when you can swim in our ponds, walk through our beautiful countryside and eat farm fresh food in our restaurants or at the Cabin. The perfect place for a relaxing and renewing stay.

My husband and I had such a wonderful long weekend at the cabin in early November. It was just starting to feel like the holidays, and we realized how special the cabin must feel at Christmas time. And then it hit us. We booked a mid-week stay for my retired parents for their Christmas gift this year. As in many families, grandparents get the bulk of the hosting responsibilities and run themselves ragged pulling so many family members together. So, my siblings and I sent them away the week before Christmas. They were delighted! Beyond delighted! They said those two nights in the woods of Vermont did more to center them on the true meaning of the holidays than anything else. I encourage anyone who loves this cabin to consider booking it as a gift for people they love. We all have so much "stuff" that it makes great sense to give people what they really crave: peace, time, and beauty. We can't wait to return to the cabin ourselves next summer--we'll probably have to compete with my parents' request! Happy Visits. And thank you, Sue, for all the little details that make it feel so magical. My parents have kept their Welcome Sign you made for them.Recommended for: Age 55+, romantic getaway, sightseeing.
Owner response: "Gifting a stay" at our Cabin is the most wonderful and heartfelt endorsement we have received from our guests. Special occasions such as Birthdays, Anniversaries and Honeymoons have all been celebrated there and now we are becoming a "special gift destination." Keep us in mind the next time you are searching for that most special gift you would like to give. Your recipients will not be disappointed.

My husband and I were fortunate again to be able to spend Wassail Weekend at this very special cabin. As we drove down the road to the cabin, smiles came to our faces and as we walked through the door, the magic began. The music was softly playing, greeting us and beckoning us to step into the calm, relaxing environment that has been created within the cabin. We found everything we needed to be comfortable - Sue has anticipated every need. We relaxed by the fireplace, ate well, slept soundly and enjoyed the feastivities in town. We were amazed and entertained by The Ten and The Campbell Brothers - such talent! Our friend, an owl we heard last year, serenaded us again and he revealed himself to us on Sunday as we were leaving, showing off his hunting skills before he disappeared with his lunch. We left, reluctantly, but know we will return again next year! Thank you, Sue, for sharing your peaceful cabin!Recommended for: Age 55+, romantic getaway, girls getaway, sightseeing.
Owner response: It is so rewarding to have "repeat customers" who return to the Cabin for special occasions and a chance to relax and enjoy the peace and tranquility it provides. Winter is starting here and we welcome the snow and winter activities. It is advisable to have a reliable vehicle with good tires if you choose to visit during the winter. The roads are plowed and sanded but can be tricky in a snow storm. While it is wonderful to visit in warmer weather the Cabin has a special charm for a winter escape. Come visit.

Honestly - we came in jet-lagged from an over-night flight from WA state, we were hungry, tired, and just wanted to sleep. After a hot shower we slumped into bed, and two hours later woke up refreshed like we'd been on vacation for a week! The cabin is even more cozy and wonderful than we remembered, and while I've not even considered moving back to VT in 22 years, I have talked my husband into looking at real estate and building a cabin after this stay. It rained all three days we were here, and we couldn't care less. We were so content to snuggle in, play games, read books, and visit with our dear friends, that we were confused when we were told the sun wasn't shining the entire time! Perfection personified. I want first rights of refusal if this property is ever sold!!!!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway, sightseeing.
Owner response: It is delightful to have "second timers" visit and we love to see them again. The weather is cooling down, the leaves are gorgeous and winter will be just around the corner. Come visit, it is cozy and warm in the Cabin and the crisp air is invigorating if you want to walk on the many trails and back roads that are nearby.

As soon as we drove up, we knew that this was a special place. The cabin suited our needs perfectly. Sweet, perfectly furnished. Serene. Beautiful views. We had such a relaxing time. Sue left us a welcoming note and she was just a phone call away if we needed anything. The week went by too fast.Recommended for: Age 55+, romantic getaway, girls getaway.
Owner response: The nights are getting cool, but the Cabin is cozy and warm. Just the subtlest shades of Fall colors are beginning to appear. Fall is a most spectacular time in Vermont, but all seasons have their own beauty and lots of fun activities. Don't miss out !

I can't say enough positive things about our stay here! It was simply perfect. Just thinking about it makes me feel instantly relaxed. We definitely plan to go back and have already recommended it to friends! We describe it to people as a luxury oasis in the middle of the woods.Beautiful furniture and home decor, well-stocked kitchen, amazing balcony with glowing sunsets.Recommended for: Romantic getaway.
Owner response: The first full year of renting our Cabin has been most rewarding. Our guests have been wonderful - respectful of our property and appreciative of our efforts. Thank you all! Plan ahead and make your reservations early. We would love to have you visit Vermont and the Cabin.

My husband and I were fortunate enough to spend a well needed break at this cabin. The owner goes above and beyond to make sure you have a memorable, relaxing vacation. From the personalized Welcome Sign, to the soft music playing, and the fresh flowers when we arrived to the overall coziness of the cabin, we felt welcomed and "at home"...And it was beyond immaculate...The owner's attention to every last detail and the fact that we felt so welcome was the reason we chose to cook our meals at the cabin rather than venturing out for our meals. Thank you isnt enough for the memorable weekend we had! The ONLY time we logged on to the computer was to check for future availability of the cabin!! We cant wait to go back!!!Recommended for: Age 55+, romantic getaway, girls getaway, sightseeing.
Owner response: Spring is officially here and the warm temperatures and sprouting leaves are 10 days earlier than usual, according to the record keepers. The Cabin is available (please check the calendar) throughout the Spring months as flowers start to bloom, Vermont turns green and the animals emerge from their dens. The frogs are merrily singing in the many Spring ponds and the peepers will add their voices any day now. Come visit, it is so refreshing and relaxing to be in Vermont.

I was so fortunate to have found this place. After several other options had fallen through, I stumbled across this entry and sent in a request. Sue was incredible from the start: very fast replies on e-mails, excellent descriptions of the cabin and surrounding areas, and a wonderfully pleasant person to talk to considering the time crunch I was under. With only 3 weeks before the arrival date, I consulted with my partner, and we agreed this was the winner. How right we were! As soon as we hit the dirt roads that bring you to the cabin, we were smiling ear to ear. Anticipation and excitement filled the car. The long driveway passes by a gorgeous home, and then terminates at the charming rustic cabin. The view of snow capped mountains in the distance, lightly falling snow in front of us, and the inviting cabin took my breath away. Being from a fairly large city, I was literally taken aback by the beauty of it all. We felt like we were the only two people in the world. You are, quite literally, away from it all. The interior of the cabin was spectacular. The space is warm, welcoming, homey, and feels lived in and well loved. Wooden beams and posts throughout the cabin remind you of where you're staying. Large windows look out to the mountains in the distance, and I found myself sitting and staring at the natural beauty of it several times during our stay. The beds are perfect. We stayed in the loft bedroom, and it was the most comfortable bed I've ever slept in. For wildlife, we ended up seeing a fox one morning out the window, and heard a woodpecker tapping at the tree nearest the front door. The living spaces and the kitchen are all well furnished and we never found that we were lacking anything. In fact, we were pleasantly surprised to find a cast iron pan to perfectly cook pancakes and hash browns on. The whole place is perfect. If you're looking for a charming, rustic, secluded, relaxing getaway, this cabin has everything you could want. Look no further. I hope to find myself back here again, and fully intend on sharing my experience with all my friends. Thank you Sue!Recommended for: Romantic getaway, families with young children, sightseeing.
Owner response: What a wonderful descriptive review of the Cabin. Vermont is experiencing a "snow drought" but snow is expected before MLK weekend. It will be a welcome sight. The Alpine ski areas have been making snow and the ski reports are good. In the meantime we have been skating, walking and observing wildlife tracks in the light snow covering, and breathing the cold, pure air. Snow is coming - let the cross country skiing and sledding begin !

My husband and I spent Wassail Weekend at the camp and had an absolutely wonderful time. The cabin was everything we hoped for and much more! When we arrived there was a personalized welcome note on a post near the driveway and the lights were on, beckoning us to come inside. This charming cabin is located in a quiet setting with great views from every window. It is immaculate throughout, with comfortable beds and is tastefully decorated with a flare that says “make yourself at home”. We did and we will be back! Sometimes when we read a review on a cabin, we wonder what point of reference the writer comes from. As former B & B owners, we know a gem when we find one and we highly recommend this very special camp.Recommended for: Age 55+, romantic getaway, girls getaway.
Owner response: Winter is upon us here in Vermont and the Cabin is warm and cozy. It is located up a dirt road that is plowed, but we highly recommend that you have a 4 wheel or all wheel drive vehicle as the road can be tricky if it is snowing. Do come and visit, it is truly a Winter Wonderland.

I was rendered speechless when I pulled up to the cabin and about fell over at my good fortune when I walked in. This cabin is so special and more than one could expect. The owners have spared nothing and stocked the home with all one could need...and more. Walking and hiking is right out the front door. Town is only a few minutes drive. The location is perfect in that it provides the seculsion one would want in a cabin with a perfect quintessential village just minutes away. You will NOT be disappointed.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, tourists without a car, romantic getaway, sightseeing.
