Islamorada is known as 'The Purple Isle' and is located in the heart of the Florida Keys - midway between bustling Miami and laid-back Key West.
House has a 50foot cement dock with an outdoor shower head and only minutes from the bay and the local boat ramp is close. Enjoy the Tiki Hut with bar. Dock is fenced and gated with lighting. Upon exiting the canal there is a great bay area for wakeboarding, skiing, tubing etc. Snake Creek and Tavernier Creek are just minutes away and easy access to the ocean.
In Plantation Key Colony, this home is in a safe neighborhood, only a short distance away from shopping centers, movie theater, great restaurants, John Pennekamp Coral Reef Park, Founder's Park, Harry Harris State Park, and the famous Tiki Bar.
The home is air-conditioned. It is fully tiled and furnished. The kitchen is stocked with all the tools needed to cook up a storm. A porch overlooking the water is the perfect place to end your day. Linens provided.

About the owner: My wife and I both work for the Department of Defense. We love traveling and I guess that helps seeing that we have been all over the world for our jobs. We enjoyed living full time in the Keys and always found plenty to do. The house has been venue for many large Thanksgivings, many parties and one wedding, so far. We are ready for others to make our home feel like theirs. So, kick back, enjoy a rum drink under the Tiki Hut and get to know the locals. Guaranteed to make your vacation or long term stay an event you will not likely to forget.
Why the Owner Chose Plantation Key:
We had the house built starting in 1997. We started driving down from Miami on Friday nights and worked on finishing the house. We started stretching the days out and eventually found ourselves living there full time and commuting. The drive to and from work was so relaxing, so we didn't mind the time. Everything there just makes you want to stay.

No matter your idea of relaxation, there is something for everyone - Founders Park with its lagoon style beach, olympic size pool, dog park, marina and more. For the flats fishermen -Flamingo national Park is close with ocean access only minutes away. Also enjoy snorkeling, diving, kayaking, shelling, jet skis, boat rentals, eco tours, sandbars, kiteboarding, shopping, nature parks, camping, museums, too many to list. Consider The Diving Musuem, Fish Bowl Bowling, Theatre of the Sea, The Rain Barrel Village of Artists, Robbie's feed the Tarpon, and many others.No boating experience - not a problem , the Islamorada charter fleet is close where you can enjoy diving and fishing
Islamorada is known as having the best restaurants in the Keys. There are many choices, ranging from local flavors to elegant dining. All within a short driving distance and some you can easily reach by boat. Some favorites are Island Grill, Kaiyo Sushi, Morada Bay Beach Cafe, Pierres's, Uncles, Green Turtle Inn and Islamorada Fish company. Enjoy!
