This handsome Black Butte Ranch vacation home is filled with modern amenities, but thoughtfully designed to feel like a cozy mountain cabin. From its exposed timber beams to a luxurious jetted tub to a towering stone hearth surrounding the wood-burning fireplace, this is a truly special retreat tucked away in the inclusive Central Oregon resort's most desirable location.
While offering convenient access to both the South Meadow Pool and the Glaze Meadow Recreation Center, this getaway still feels wonderfully peaceful and private. Surrounded by Ponderosa pines, you'll find plenty of quiet and solitude as you relax on the wraparound deck with your morning coffee or enjoy the horseshoe pit in the yard.
After a long day of hiking, swimming, or golf, you'll love returning home to your own private mountain lodge. There is plenty of room for everyone in your group to gather in the great room, where vaulted ceilings criss-crossed by timber beams and soft leather furnishings surrounding the fireplace offer the ideal spot to unwind. With a library of DVDs, books, and board games, you'll always find the perfect activity, and the 37' flat-screen offers cable so you won't miss your favorite shows or sporting events. Best of all, the great room is ringed with wide picture windows and a sliding glass door leading to the deck, so you can watch for wildlife passing through the yard as you're cozy and warm by the fire.
Overlooking the living area, an open kitchen lets the cook in your group be part of the fun even while preparing meals. Fully equipped with updated appliances (including refrigerator, oven with stovetop, dishwasher, microwave, toaster, blender, and coffeemaker), expansive countertops, and all the pots and pans, serving dishes, bakeware, and dinnerware you might need for hearty homemade breakfasts or leisurely dinners. Grab a glass of wine and a stool at the breakfast bar for a sociable pre-dinner perch, or head to the beautiful trestle table for a family meal.
At the end of your adventure-packed day, choose from three well-appointed bedrooms for a restful night's sleep, each with its own special appeal and unique name. The master bedroom, dubbed the Black Butte suite, offers a king bed, private doors leading to the wraparound deck, and a luxurious attached bath. Here, busy hosts can enjoy their own private getaway-within-a-getaway, with a relaxing jetted tub tucked in the corner and a spacious separate shower.
While the master bedroom is spacious and luxurious, the Ponderosa and Juniper rooms are wonderfully cozy and beautifully furnished. Each has a queen bed dressed in quality linens and tucked under a sloping ceiling, with wood paneling, carefully selected artwork, and soft armchairs creating a peaceful space for reading or afternoon naps. The second full bathroom has a glass-enclosed shower/tub combo, and a convenient layout with a pocket door separating the shower and toilet area from the main bathroom with sink. Morning routines will be a breeze, even with a full house of up to six guests.
The home also offers wireless Internet access and a washer/dryer, so longer stays or working vacations are a breeze. With a $10 nightly per pet fee, up to two well-behaved dogs are allowed. A spacious two-car garage has room for your vehicles and sporting equipment, and you'll find extra amenities ranging from horseshoes for the backyard to a high chair for our youngest guests to fluffy towels for your trips to one of the ranch's four swimming pools.
Of course, just beyond your front door waits all the adventures of Black Butte Ranch. The nearby Glaze Meadow Recreation Center has a year-round indoor swimming pool, seasonal outdoor pools, hot tub and sauna, exercise equipment, and bicycle rentals. There are two golf courses, biking and hiking trails, horseback rides, and fishing, kayaking, and canoeing on Phalarope Lake.
If you don't feel like cooking one night, head over to the resort's lodge for a meal at its excellent lodge restaurant and bar; for more options, Sisters is just twenty minutes east and offers even more options for dining and shopping, along with a movie theater.
Whether you've come to the ranch to experience all the great outdoor activities offered in Central Oregon or just come to relax, this home is the ideal place to enjoy both. Beyond the ranch's borders, you can hike up Black Butte to the fire station, fish on the Metolius River across from the resort in Camp Sherman or shop in the charming Western towns of Sisters (8 miles east) or Bend (30 miles south).
**Please note that Black Butte Ranch will collect a recreation access fee of $5 per person (over age 7) per day upon your arrival at the resort.

My husband and our two adult sons stayed for Thanksgiving weekend. The home is very comfortable. The beds are awesome. I was amazed at how well stocked the kitchen is for utensils. You can cook anything. There is a great assortment of games as well as videos. TV has a wide range of channel choices. Home is in a great location and we did lots of walking around the resort. Great place to stay. We look forward to coming back.Recommended for: Girls getaway, pet owners, sightseeing, age 55+, adventure seekers.

What a great Thanksgiving we had at BBR! We found this house to be perfect for our family of 5. It was very clean, well stocked (I made the full Thanksgiving dinner in a kitchen I never had been in, with great success) and extremely comfortable. The description of the house was accurate as were the pictures. It was obvious that the owners took a lot of time and energy in making the house as comfortable to renters as possible. There were instructions with pictures for everything (so no need to call and ask questions) and cupboards were labeled so things were easy to find. Cathy was a joy to work with. We will definitely be returning.Recommended for: Girls getaway, pet owners, families with young children, sightseeing, families with teenagers.

About the owner: We have been coming to Black Butte Ranch for over 10 years--first as renters and now as owners. BBR is our sanctuary and our special place to share with family and friends.
Why the Owner Chose Black Butte Ranch:
We chose BBR over other Central Oregon resorts because of its location, tall Ponderosa Pines, private nature, size and quality. We love the bike trails and walking. We love the sound of the wind blowing through the pines and gazing at the stars at night.
BBR is a great place to reconnect with family and friends or just get away and recharge your batteries. It provides all the amenities of the larger resorts, but it is small enough to enjoy all the beauty nature has to offer. There is a place--and this is it!
The Unique Benefits at this House:
We love to take walks and ride our bikes at BBR. No matter which direction you go, you will find a beautiful spot. Sitting on the deck with a glass of wine and watching the world go by is heaven.
