We had a great time. The house was as pictured. We picked berries at a local farm and made a berry pie. Swam and fished off the dock. rented a pontoon boat and cruised the lake. Did a day trip to Cherokee and went zip lining. We're going to Alaska next summer but will definitely rent here the following summerRecommended for: Families with teenagers, age 55+, families with young children, adventure seekers.
Owner response: Thank you so much for taking time to submit your review! Enjoy Alaska!!!

About the owner: We have been married for 38 years and have two grown daughters. We all love to water ski and this uncrowded lake is a great place to be! I teach middle school string music and my husband owns his own company designing and selling 3 dimensional displays. This is my summer haven for reading, cooling off and just plain relaxing! After 23 years I don't know what I would do without this place for amazing R and R!! We're delighted to share it with you and your loved ones!
Why the Owner Chose Lake Santeetlah:
Because 80% of the lake is national forest the lake sees very little boat traffic. We love to ski and swim. The water is so clear you won't need a shower. The water is a very comfortable temperature from June-October. We are close to the water, yet have a fabulous view. We love being in the trees where we can wear our jammies for breakfast and see all but not be seen! Oue girls love swimming in the cove and I never worry about boats coming by because they turn out before they reach us at the end of the cove. A day of rest here will refresh you for a full week! Easy living at its best!
The Unique Benefits at this Cottage:
This is the only rental listing that has a screened in porch. Cozy, comfortable, easy living with beautiful views all year round. Since we have a number of days of rain this is a BIG plus! The bathrooms have been recently tiled, with new flooring and plenty of towels. WALK TO THE MARINA AND RENTAL CRAFT. Free boat launching within one mile of cottage. Only 6 miles from Robbinsville and good grocery shopping and eating out. There is an amazing farm nearby where you can pick your own fruit and purchase delicious vegetables and beautiful flowers. Not far from the Nantahala River and extra special dining, Great hiking near by and resort shopping only 40 minutes away. Wonderful artisans in the area make exploring extra fun! Run on over to Bryson City and enjoy a run on the Smokey Mountain Railroad or a tube run on Deep Creek. Nantahala Inn has fabulous food as does the :Snowbird Mountain Lodge. Cherohala Skyway is very close as is the Tail of the Dragon.
