My family spent an absolutely fantastic week at the barn this summer. It was a vacation which was truly difficult to go home from. If you are looking for a quiet and peaceful retreat in the heart of North Fork Wine Country, this is the place for you. The property is nestled on a quiet peninsula surrounded by calm protected waters. It is excellent for kayaking and biking if you are so inclined. We had delicious meals of clams and oysters we harvested ourselves during our "boat" trips. While close to scads of wonderful restaurants and wineries, the house itself is off the beaten path and offers exceptional seclusion at the end of the day when its time to relax. The floor plan is open and superbly set up for relaxed country living and entertaining. The kitchen is nicely appointed and allows for everyone to join in on the fun when putting together a meal if you choose to eat in. The property was very well maintained, squeaky clean and chock full of amenities. We really can't say enough about the barn, its surroundings and its warm and friendly owner who made sure we had everything we needed to enjoy our stay. Highly recommended!Recommended for: Girls getaway, families with young children, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with teenagers.

My husband and I had the good fortune of staying in this property while vacationing in the North Fork wine country during the late Summer. The home is located nearby to tons of restaurants and vineyards and is set back from the road, nestled among the trees and surrounded by water making it extremely peaceful and quiet. Gorgeous views out over the water from the lawn. The "barn" itself is anything but a rustic place to stay- the space is incredibly clean, brand new furniture and appliances, the soaring ceilings and windows let in tons of light and give you room to breathe and the tasteful modern decor made me want to move in on a long term basis. Highly recommended.Recommended for: Sightseeing, girls getaway, families with young children, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with teenagers.

Why the Owner Chose Cutchogue:
Two hours from New York City, this amazing spot is really a whole world away. After the most challenging week at work and school, our family is instantly restored with just a few minutes of sitting in a chair, gazing out at the sun sparkling on the pond, watching the ospreys soar, listening to the many calls of the various birds. With a glass of North Fork wine or juice box in hand, this city family reconnects with the simple pleasures of fishing, collecting shells, tossing a ball and breathing fresh air in expansive space. At the end of our time in this special place, we return to our city lives restored, revived, reinvigorated and exceedingly grateful.
