Casa Cuna Del Golfo, a Vacation Rental Home in Paradise!

Casa Cuna del Golfo is a rustic beachfront two-bedroom home located on a large private hectare of immaculately groomed gardens that include lemon, orange, mango, water apple, and banana trees plus several old growth primary lowland palms and a large assortment of ornamental shrubs.

The two story home features open-air architecture and has extensive covered patios on both floors, with hanging hammock seats on the first floor verandah and an extensive second store patio with hammocks overlooking the extensive lawns in front of the home that extend to the shoreline.

Each of the two bedrooms has a queen sized bed and there are two additional double foam mattresses available for spill-over sleeping. The overhang of the roof was built with Costa Rican rains in mind, and all the windows and the porch are safe from the spray of rainfall except during the most windy and violent of weather.

A combined living room and dining area includes an enormous dining table with seating for ten and a well equipped kitchen with lots of counter space and a new refrigerator. The single first floor bathroom is tiled and simple. There is no hot water.

The Casa Cuna lawn is neatly manicured and flat with extensive areas of shade for lounging. The beach in this protected part of the gulf, is very tame, more like a lake than a seashore, and wave action never rises above a couple inches and is typically nearly dead calm, with little more than ripples lapping the shoreline. Mangroves are abundant along this stretch of low-lying coast and bound the properties boundaries on both sides of the principle beach access. A gravel walkway connects the beach to the front porch of the home.

Howler monkeys are regular property visitors with occasional squirrel and white-faced monkeys also making appearances. The scarlet macaw, and two species of parrots are regular visitors in both couples and flocks. We have a resident tiger heron and a host of other wading birds, boons of frogs and slow fish, to name a few.

There are two sets of concrete yard tables for outdoor dining and hammocks both in the yard and on the second story verandah. An outdoor wash sink is available for washing clothes and outdoor water supply.

Casa Cuna del Golfo boasts full electrical power and cell phone access, and internet is available for $10 a day extra with a 3-G connection device.

A caretaker lives next to the property and provides security and maintenance as needed. The caretaker's wife provides catering services upon request for a modest additional fee..
