'Hyggeligt' is a Danish word that translates to cozy or homey; warm, inviting. This condo has newly updated furniture and amenities. It's right-on-Lake Pepin with views of the water and Mississippi River bluffs – grand year round. These elevated views are available in this third floor vacation rental in the Willows on the River Resort in Lake City, Minnesota. Unit is serviced by an elevator. Overnight boat docking possible based on availability and for an extra fee. Four to six people can stay comfortably here. Floor to ceiling windows provide wide-open vistas. This get-away rental is inviting, comfortable and affordable. Watch season 1 and 2 of Downton Abbey on DVD or select from dozens more available in the unit. Ask for unit #301.
Relax and refresh; lots of outdoor activities -- then have a dip in the hot tub or pool on the first floor. You may never want to leave!
Bedrooms:
The main floor master bedroom has a king bed, flat screen TV and an adjacent large walk-in closet with a washer/dryer. A large full bath, including a tub, adjoins the master. Bringing friends or grandchildren? The second floor open sleeping loft overlooks the living room and has a queen bed. A bath with shower and a closet are adjacent to the loft sleeping area. The living room sofa also pulls out to a sleeper with comfortable 'memory foam' mattress.
Bedding, towels, soap, shampoo and similar amenities are provided. This unit is also equipped with a washer/dryer.
Kitchen/Dining and Living areas:
The galley-style kitchen opens to the living room and is equipped with full size refrigerator, range, microwave and dishwasher; tableware, pots, pans and utensils are also provided. Counter-height dining table and stools 'face the lake' so you can enjoy the view while dining in. If you’d rather not cook, a separately owned and operated restaurant is on the resort property and is open year round for dining there or delivery to your unit. The living room has a gas fireplace and new furniture in 2011, The media center is stocked with over 70 DVD movies – from old favorites to new releases AND the first 2 seasons of Downton Abbey! The breezy and fun behind-the-scenes book, 'The World of Downton Abbey' is also on site. A telescope in the unit lets you zoom in on the abundant waterfowl and wildlife. This unit is also kid friendly/family friendly with board games, cards and DVDs especially for children.
Can’t TOTALLY unplug? Free Wi-Fi, flat screen televisions and cable will keep you as connected as you wish to be. An indoor pool and spa on the premises offer year-round relaxation and the fitness room means you don’t have to miss a workout, unless you want to.
This is a two-story unit located on the 3rd floor; the building's elevator is nearby.
No pets and no smoking allowed in this resort property. Two day minimum stay required on weekends from Memorial Day weekend through Labor Day weekend.

In winter, cross-country skiing, snowmobiling and ice boating opportunities are nearby. The National Eagle Center is 13 miles south in Wabasha because the Upper Mississippi area is eagle territory; they can be spotted year round in Lake City. If your recreational interests tend more to vineyard tours and exploring interesting shops, the drive around Lake Pepin fits the bill. The Pearl of the Lake paddle wheel excursion boat docks at the Willows and tickets are available at the front desk for boat tours from approximately May to October.

I'm here from Wisconsin with my Mom and Grandma on a three-generations road trip along the Mississippi River. The first thing we said when we opened the condo door was WOW! We are so impressed by the decor, cleanliness and view of Lake Pepin. We dined on the patio with the company of an adorable stray kitten. I wanted to take it home! The evening view of the moon was incredible, especially when seen through the telescope. THANKS! We enjoyed the night we spent here and hope we can come back again soon. We came to Lake City for a much needed family vacation and had a wonderful time together. There is so much to see and explore in this beautiful area that we are already planning to return next year. In town, Rabbit's Bakery has delicious pastries and excellent coffee. We also enjoyed a nice lunch Now, as we leave, we are looking forward to the drive around the lake. We are in town for our annual girlz weekend. In the past we went to the North Shore but we have thoroughly enjoyed our time in Lake City--and will likely return next year. Yesterday we went into town for mani/pedis. Today we went on the Paddleboat, Pepin Heights Apple Orchard (yummy! love the sweet tangoes) and then to Wabasha to shop a little and see the eagles. The weather has been absolutely perfect (72 degrees). The lake is stunning and beautiful. We have had an awesome time in this great little town!Did you find this review helpful? My husband and I stayed at this condo back in October and we absolutely loved it! It was like being on a boat because the view from the 3rd floor looks right out onto the Lake. It was clean and well-maintained and was within walking distance of many attractions, including restaurants, the marina and other local treasures. We cooked gourmet meals for two in the kitchenette and enjoyed coffee on the balcony with the morning sun and the evening moonlight. We were able to fully unwind at this property and found it to be very tranquil yet near any kind of adventure we wanted to get into! We recommend this condo wholeheartedly!!!Recommended for: Sightseeing, tourists without a car, girls getaway, families with young children, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with teenagers.
