Nestled in the mountains, we are surrounded by tall, fragrant pines… perfect for bringing the family together in this spacious yet cozy cabin with huge loft.
There are 2 bedrooms, each with a Queen bed, and a Cal-King bed and 4 Twins in the loft. The loft also has a separate video/Xbox area plus many games and puzzles and is a great place to keep kids of all ages entertained (baby gate available for stairs). We have free WiFi, a full kitchen, large living room with comfy couches, wood-burning fireplace, and dining table (with leaf) which is perfect for dining together or playing games with the whole family. The wrap-around deck is brand new, pet- and child-friendly, and has a gas BBQ and tables and chairs so you can enjoy the beautiful surrounding trees.
On a special note, our cleaner uses only green, environmentally-friendly products (without adding cost or sacrificing cleanliness) so we can provide a healthier environment for your family and for the beautiful Sierras you’ve come to experience. The house is also up-to-date with smoke alarms and a carbon monoxide detector for your family’s protection.

THINGS TO DO IN THE AREA:
For summertime fun, it’s just a short trip (less than ½ mile) down the hill to Fly-In Lake, complete with a small sandy beach and floating raft for swimming and playing (and don’t forget to watch the geese “fly in” at dusk!). Nearby is an 18-hole golf course as well as the Blue Lake Springs Recreation Center where your family is welcome to use our Owner’s Pass to enjoy the swimming pool, tennis courts, basketball, ping pong, bocce courts, volleyball and outdoor movies shown during the warm summer nights. With our pass, the Rec Center is $8/person or $25/family per day and $45/person or $125/family per week.
In the winter months, Bear Valley ski resort, just a 25-minute drive to the east, is known as a family-friendly, affordable resort, which offers excellent downhill and cross-country skiing for all skill levels, as well as other popular winter activities such as are sledding, snowshoeing, snowboarding and snowmobiling. (And don't forget mountain biking and hiking in the summer!)
Not to be missed in any season is Big Trees State Park where you can experience the Giant Sequoia Redwoods standing 150 feet tall and 30 feet across. With great nature and hiking trails perfect for all ages, this park is less than a 10-minute drive away and a great opportunity to see some of California’s true gems.
Fishing, boating and other water activities abound in one of the many lakes, streams and rivers including the Stanislaus River, Alpine Lake (our favorite!), Mokelumne River, Bear Creek, Rattlesnake Creek, New Melones Lake, Mosquito Lake, Union & Utica Reservoirs, New Spicer Reservoir and many others.
And don’t forget a visit to the nearby Gold Rush towns of Murphys (quaint downtown with shops & restaurants) and Colombia (preserved 1850’s main street, carriage rides, old-time photos, panning for gold) as well as many award-winning wineries and tasting rooms, three golf courses, or three of the area’s breathtaking caverns (California, Mercer and Moaning) which are open for exploring and tours.
Phone numbers and website links to many of the above attractions are on our website at ArnoldVacation(dot)com - Things To Do In The Area page.
We always enjoy ourselves so much when we’re in this area and know your family will too. Re-connect, have fun, and make yourselves at home!

We needed a place to unwind and relax....and we found it at this home. Everything was as promised, and readily available. Lots of pots/pans, dishes, glasses, cups, silverware, etc. The only hang-up was the owners inability to control the weather! Rain, hail, sleet and very cool temps. That wasn't all bad because it gave us time to do absolutely nothing but read, eat, and relax. We did drive to Big Trees when the rain let up for a while....beautiful. The White Pines park and lake are great! Wife, dog and I all came back home with a "refreshed" feeling. Nice place. I recommend it.Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, pet owners, romantic getaway.

My family needed a weekend to get away! We were so excited when we found this cabin to rent in Arnold. This cabin had a mountain feeling and it was the perfect getaway! The cabin was clean and had lots of beds to sleep the 7 of us! The owners were great to work with to plan our trip and and gave us detailed information on what we needed to bring, what they supplied, how to close up, and things to do in the area. We will definitely be back!Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, pet owners, families with young children, girls getaway.

Just spent the week-end at this cabin in Arnold and it was fantastic. The cabin is clean and everything worked well. The owners provide very detailed directions and instructions for using everything..first thing we did was get a fire going which was great on a winter evening. For a cabin this size, the price can't be beat! Drove in Friday night and left Sunday with a trip to Bear Valley (only 30 mins) for a morning of snowboarding. Cabin is in a great location surrounded by trees so you definitely feel like you are in the forest. There are other cabins near-by as well and the town of Arnold is only a few minutes away so not completely isolated. I live in the SF Bay Area and the drive to Arnold is shorter and much less stressful than the drive to Tahoe. This will definitely be our new winter escape and looking forward to going in the other seasons as well.Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, pet owners, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.

We stayed at the cabin for 4 days. We choose the cabin because it was: 1- Much cheaper to rent than many of the places around it. 2- Close to all the attractions and activities we were interested in (all within 30 miles from the cabin). We spend sometime looking for a place we can afford and we were not disappointed. The cabin was clean, has everything you need and easily accommodating the 6 of us and our cat. We enjoyed our stay and we will try to comeback this summer. Terri recommended few places to visit, we found them all worth visiting. We enjoyed skiing at the Bear Valley ski resort ( 30 miles from the cabin). We visited the town of Murphys and Mercer caverns ( 10 or 15 miles from the cabin) . We visited the towns of Sonora, Jamestown, Angels camp, and the old town of Columbia ( all can be visited in one trip and all are within 30 -40 miles distance from the cabin). Thanks TerriRecommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, pet owners, romantic getaway, families with young children.

Great cabin! Was exactly as described, owner was easy to correspond with. Our party of 4 adults, 4 children and one small dog were all very comfortable here. We loved that everything was there and all we needed to bring was our food and towels. Owner provided directions, lists of things to do/where to go, and helpful notes about the cabin which all came in handy. Big Trees is very close to the cabin and is something to see after the snow falls! Really enjoyed it! The surrounding area is beautiful, and we can't wait to return here in the near future! Great cabin for a great price!Recommended for: Sightseeing, age 55+, families with teenagers, pet owners, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.

Great cabin, great price, great people! Terri worked wonderfully with us setting everything up, addressing needs, etc. The cabin was exactly what we expected. Plenty of room for our party of 12. We stayed for 5 days and it was one of our best family vacations ever. We were even able to bring our 2 dogs! You won't find a price this good anywhere for such a large group of people! Thanks Terri & Tim!!!Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, families with teenagers, pet owners, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.

Owner info
Year Purchased: 1999
About the owner: Tim, originally from Santa Rosa and making trips to Arnold since he was a boy, purchased the cabin in 1999 and it quickly became the location for family gatherings and lots of fun all year round. Terri joined the family in 2004 and instantly fell in love with the area as well. Unfortunately we now live in southern California and are unable to get to our “home away from home” as often as we’d like… So we’ve opened it up for friends and family to enjoy. And now we invite our “new friends” from VRBO - you are welcome anytime!
Why the Owner Chose Arnold:
Fresh air, tall redwoods, hiking, skiing, rivers and lakes, caverns... and great wine tasting in quaint Gold Rush towns. Need we say more!
The Unique Benefits at this Cabin:
Relaxing outdoors on the large deck with trees all around, or inside on the comfy couches with a big fire. Add some hot chocolate or glass of wine... Heaven!
