This place is EXACTLY how it is described. It was perfect for our family vacation. I highly recommend this villa. It was so convenient and worked out to be a fantastic hub for our vacation. Lots of great restaurants near by: we really loved Casa Blanca-dined there twice.

Recommended for:Adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

I was amazed by how clean the place was when we arrived. It is truely 5 stars. The pool and hot tub were great. Everything under the sun was in the kitchen. Even rice cooker. The bathrooms were also 5 star with 2 shower heads. Walk to the beach was only 5 mins on a great walk path. The walk to the Hyatt also was only 5 min. We ate at Keoki's at the shopping village which is a great place to take out as well. The bar side is the best value. Only thing I found distracting is you can hear the people walking on the floor above you. If you don't need an ocean view this is most likely the best place in Poipu.

We stayed at the Villas for just under two weeks in Feb. and couldn't have asked for anything better. It was a wonderful place to stay. The kitchen had everything that you could ever need. Our family loved the location. It was a 5 minute beautiful walk to Brenneke beach which was wonderful for my two boys 8 and 4. It was a like a constant wave pool for them perfect for boogie boarding. In the other direction, you could walk to the Hyatt and explore their beautiful grounds. Our trip was a dream come true and hope to do it again soon.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Villas. The accommodations were just so very comfortable which made for an extremely relaxing vacation. We also appreciated the staff with how easy it was to book our reservation and for their quick response to our questions upon arrival.

"Great Get Away" - We stayed in the Villas at Poipu kai. The accomendations were great, beautiful and just exactly like the pictures... we are all a little afraid of not getting what we see in the photos.. but this was not the case, ours was exact. We also enjoyed the pool and spa they were wonderful and the beaches were within walking distance so we had it all!! There were 2 grills out by the pool for our use and we did take advantage of them! We had everything we needed in the condo even laundry detergent! I am having to stretch to find a negative... however, the only thing we were lacking was matches for the grill... so if you plan on grilling take a lighter or matches in your checked bags!

Where to begin! Everything about the Villa's at Poipu Kai is incredible from it's great location close to the beach to the great pool and hot tub in the main courtyard! And of course the incredible accommodations which had everything we needed during our two weeks there already in the unit made us feel right at home!! The units with their 11' ceilings and spacious layout never made us feel we were lacking any space and the huge lanai was great to sit on and unwind after a day of exploring the island. If we were going back to Kauai we would absolutely look at staying here again! Matt

We were so happy to arrive at such a wonderful place after a very long trip from Wisconsin (17 hours!). The Villas at Poipu Kai were everything we expected and then some for a relaxing, upscale family vacation. Our ground floor three-bedroom condo was spacious, well-appointed, and spotless. Everyone in our active family of five had ample room. While a unit on an upper floor might have been more private, the ground floor location proved very useful for us, with three kids constantly tromping to the beach with boogie boards and snorkel gear. We parents enjoyed our private master suite, quite separate from the kids' rooms, with our own large luxury bathroom (large footed tub and double shower) and television. The washer and dryer were indispensable, as was free high speed internet. As we found the restaurants options limited on this part of the island, we preferred to purchase wonderful fresh fish and shrimp from the Kaloa fish market and grilled nightly (there are two grills located steps away in the pool area). Our three boys (ages 16, 14 and 10) had lots of freedom to roam, to Brennecke and Poipu beach, and even the shopping center, for activities, shave ice, and other treats, to the pool and hot tub right outside our unit. Rent your boogie boards and snorkeling equipment at Kimo's, near the shopping center on Poipu Road--their prices are better than Nukumoi's and they didn't charge extra when we lost one of the net bags the fins came in. The tennis courts were an unexpected surprise, not mentioned by the other reviewers. For $60, my husband and I could play unlimited tennis for the week, with lots of pick up games available (thanks, Lori!). We spent most of our time on the beach, snorkeling at Poipu and at Lawai beach (near the Beach House restaurant), and boogie boarding at Breneke (just across the street from the resort) as we didn't want to spend a lot of time in the car. The walk from the condo unit to the beach is paved, easy to navigate and quite pleasant. Away from the resort, the kids enjoyed an afternoon of ziplining arranged through Kauai Outfitters, and all of us loved wandering through the Allerton botanical gardens. The hike near Shipwreck beach is also superb and easy to get to from the Villas. Thank you, Poipu Kai resort, for a memorable week! We will return!

"Wonderful retreat during a busy buisness trip" - I highly recommend the 3 bedroom pool side Villa at the Villas at Poipu Kai. The room was outstanding with all the ammenities of home and a very quiet and commfortable feel. I was there for a buisness trip and my schedule was very long each day. It was wonderful to come back to the Villa and feel the serenity and quietness of the complex and just be abel to relax and feel at home. It is a wonderful facility and I can;t say how much I enjoyed staying at the Villas.

"All You Could Ever Want" We stayed in the Villas at Poipu Kai for 6 nights, the Villa's are beautiful and have every possible gadget you could ever need. The bathroom was bigger than some apartments I have been to. The pool area was lovely. The place was very quiet so not recommended if you are planning a partying type of vacation. We did not want to leave and can't wait to come back again some time.

"Nicer than home" - The Poipu Kai Pool Side Villas are a wonderful vacation destination for any traveler no matter how you like to vacation. The property is very well maintained and the rooms are well appointed. All the needed amenities as well as some extras are there to make your stay very comfortable and memorable. The master bathroom is spacious and elegant with a roomy closet. The balcony is immense and we spent a lot of time enjoying the delicious food of Kauai. The kitchen has everything you need to make whatever you like and there is plenty of space throughout the unit to be comfy and relaxed. The staff was very accommodating as well and available to quickly help out with any requests. We loved the location of the property as it is close to the main road for quick access to any destination yet far enough off the road to ensure a quiet and tranquil experience. The green belt is great for pleasant walks and access to several great beaches nearby. Pool is very nice and bbque area is cleaned daily. We had a wonderful vacation and it was a sad day when we had to leave. We would definitely recommend this unit and property to anyone looking to have a first class vacation.

"Best Place to stay on Kauai" - We have been to Kauai about 15 times and this was the best ever!!! My sister and brother-in-law were very impressed with the place I chose for us to stay. It was close to the best beach for snorkleing, lots of fish and turtles, and for walks. We will be going back just as soon as we can....

"This is the way a vacation should be." - We loved the condo- it was very comfortable and we loved everything about it. It was decorated beautifully and the best part was the lani with the "disappearing doors" great outside/inside feel. It was very well equiped had everything that we needed. We would recomend it to others and stay there again on our next trip to Kauai. We only had a brief encounter with the onsite person- but she was very helpful and pleasant. The reservation process was easy and friendly.

"Best Vacation Ever" - When we arrived at our condo after a long day of travel and it was clean and exceptional. We loved everything about this resort. Beds were comfortable and baths were exquisite. Kitchen had everything we needed and more. We are trying to figure out now when we can go back and we would stay in the exact same place.

"Wow, what an amazing place" - This home was absolutely brand new when we stayed there; so new that we had to turn on some of the water valves (not a problem.) This is the nicest condo unit we have ever rented anywhere. It does not have an unlimited view of the ocean but the proximity is very good and the quiet was much appreciated. This is a great unit for kids; we had both of our young daughters (6 and 9) with us and they loved playing on the beach and swimming in the protected area. It would also be excellent for two couples.
