In searching for just the right villa near Florence for a group of 4 couples, I researched about 450 villas throughout Tuscany. Villa Luciano offered all the right qualities and amenities that we wanted: enough private bedrooms and baths, plenty of public space, gorgeous grounds, an inviting pool area, a decor that spoke to the villa's history and authenticity, and a great location within a small village that would be convenient for day trips to Florence. All 8 of us fell in love as soon as we arrived! Situated on 10 fully landscaped acres on a street that overlooks this mountain village of 1100 friendly Italians, we had a commanding view on every terraced level of the grounds and spent hours enjoying all the different sitting areas. Most people in Londa don't speak English but they are very helpful and welcoming. We also felt very safe walking anywhere in Londa. Sandra, the village manager is more than helpful and accessible. We loved shopping locally and did so daily. Two local restaurants offer excellent food. We hired Gabriella, the available cook two nights and were so glad we did. She introduced us to the simple Tuscan dishes that have made Italy famous and showed us how are Americanized version of "Italian" is far less appealing. The website accurately represents the villa, its cleanliness, the amenities, the privacy, and the authenticity of the villa as an 18th century home. The Spagnoli family has retained the villa's grandness as a family estate but kept it comfortable and useable. My husband and I renewed our wedding vows in the courtyard, surrounded by rock walls draped in honeysuckle, hedges rows, and potted plants. We couldn't have scripted a more Italian or more romantic setting. Leaving the villa and Londa was very sad for all of us. It was the perfect place for our group, the kind of Tuscan experience we'd longed for, and it was convenient to Florence and other towns. While a car is not absolutely necessary, we were glad we had them. They allowed us to drive off into other areas and explore the stunning countryside.Did you find this review helpful? We finally realized our dream of traveling to Tuscany and we did it in style at Villa Luciano! This grand estate is beautiful and steeped in history with the stone walls, Italian gardens, quiet wooded paths sitting above the lovely town of Londa. We loved the blend of old and new - the downstairs 18th century kitchen with brick oven or the two modern kitchens on the main floor. The antique funishings yet complete and modern bathrooms. The villa's manager Sandra was an excellent hostess and she guided us to some of our best finds in the area such as the winery Il Prato or the ancient city of Montereggioni. She also introduced us to Graziella, a true Tuscan gem, who cooked a beautiful milestone birthday dinner for one of our party. Now we dream of a family reunion one day at Villa Luciano.Recommended for: Romantic getaway, adventure seekers, age 55+.

My group of 9 just returned to the states after spending 7 days in Londa at the most beautiful Villa Luciano. Planning such a big event and relying only on the web can be daunting and scary. I am here to tell you not to fear. Villa Luciano was more that I could have ever expected. Sandra was a joy to work with and never let me down. The pictures hardly do the Villa justice as the property is so much bigger in person. The village of Londa is so quaint and the people so sweet. We really did feel at home. The location is great if using the Villa as a home base. We toured the Tuscan wine country as well as Florence. The biggest treat was to have Gabriella make us dinner one evening. Her smile, spirit and love will be with all of us forever. Our only regret is we did not use her more. If coming to Villa Luciano please tap into the treasures she holds. I can not say enough about how much we enjoyed our experience. Do not hesitate to book this fabulous place. I must have looked at 500 Villa's on the web and I have no regrets....you won't either.Recommended for: Sightseeing, romantic getaway, adventure seekers, families with teenagers, age 55+, girls getaway.

What a wonderful experience for our group of 10 at Villa Luciano! The Villa is huge and has absolutely every amenity for a fantastic stay. The rooms are huge and comfortable, kitchens well-equipped and the property is amazing...from the gorgeous and serene Italian gardens to the swimming pool which was so enjoyed by our group on warm, sunny days. The town of Londa is beautiful with all the services needed for a great vacation and the people warm and welcoming. While we visited many locations in Tuscany, we also enjoyed several days just hanging out at the Villa. How I miss the sound of the church bells ringing throughout the mountains! Sandra, the property manager, is a gem. She was so helpful in planning our stay and was always there when needed after we arrived. And Gabriella cooked us two wonderful meals and provided us with life-long memories (and some great cooking tips) during our day-long cooking class. She is the best! There is nothing negative to say about our experience at Villa Luciano. It will always be remembered as two of the best weeks of our lives.Recommended for: Sightseeing, romantic getaway, families with young children, families with teenagers, age 55+.

What an amazing vacation! From the very first minute we arrived, we all fell in love with Villa Luciano and the hill town of Londa. My family was looking for a vacation that we could remember forever. We wanted a place close enough to a town so you could walk around and experience the flavor of Tuscany, and yet far enough out in the hills for a break from our city lives. After searching Italy and Spain on line, Villa Luciano seemed perfect; and it was! The rooms are huge, yet cozy, we never felt like we were too small a group for such a grand villa. The meals prepared for us were wonderful, and so much fun getting all of us together. We wound up staying on the Villa grounds and in Londa more than we planned...it was just so beautiful and relaxing; and a great place for the kids to blow off some steam and enjoy the reunion. Londa proved a great location for day trips into Florence by train, and the north western Tuscany towns by car. We expecially loved the mountain road to Stia and the Chianti area. For a family or a group of friend I can't imagine a better place!Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 6/6
