Husband and I decided to go away for a weekend on a last minute basis, spur of the moment kinda thing, and now all we can talk about it going back. The owner was so quick to reply to any and all of my emails in a timely manner. We really enjoyed our stay and the gorgeous views, gorgeous weather, gorgeous everything! We spent alot of our time just sitting outside doing absolutely nothing, watching our dogs play and chase each other, and quite frankly its the most fun we've had in awhile. We also went for a drive around town and explored, a little hiking, and a cookout and bonfire. Our dogs, 2 german shepherds, absolutely loved it there and wanted to spend every minute of every day outside. The cabin was so nice inside, the pictures don't do it justice! I definitely wish my kitchen was that nice, and the spiral stairs was such a nice touch. Kitchen was well stocked with almost everything you could possibly need if you happen to forget anything. We definitely hope to come back sometimes this summer/fall and plan ahead this time. Maybe bring the dirt bikes and fishing poles :)Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, pet owners, families with young children, girls getaway.

My Family & I arrived at this Cabin on Christmas Day. We searched many cabins & decided to go with this one because of the good reviews. And let me just say that we definitely made the right choice. This Cabin exceed our expectations. It was super clean & had everything we could possibly need. We only left the cabin 1 day & that was only because I didn't want to cook. =) I have 3 boys from ages 8-14 & they had an amazing time. The Sledding right outside the cabin was fantastic!!! The upstairs part of the cabin was their own little club house. They only came down to eat & sled! The family movie selection is great. And the owner Trish is just another plus. I must have sent her 100 emails before & during our stay & she was always soooo responsive & friendly. If you are still looking for a cabin, look no more. We will come here again & again because this location had everything we needed. Thank you Trish for making us feel at home & for sharing this gem with us during the Holidays. We look forward to visiting again very soon!Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, people with disabilities, tourists without a car, age 55+, families with teenagers, pet owners, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.

The cabin located in Duck Creek Village is an excellent choice for a couple or family get away. Easy accessability of major roads to get to Zion or Bryce National Parks. Cabin has all the amenities needed for preparing your own meals as well as a home base to sleep and clean up after a day traveling to the many parks in the area. Even at the end of August, the remote location and elevation keep the temperatures cool and comfortable, while the sounds of the creek meandering in the front of the property relax you and make this location very peaceful. The owner (Trisha) did a great job in making us feel welcome and appreciated right from the moment we expressed an interest in their property. The cleaning staff had the inside spotless and smelling great upon our arrival. I would HIGHLY recommend this property for your stay in beautiful SW Utah.Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, age 55+, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.

We had a wonderful stay in Swains Creek. The house was extremely well supplied with everything we needed or could have wanted. Enjoyed using the ice cream freezer for home made ice cream and apple cobbler. Beds were comfortable and the kitchen... all I can say was I am talking my husband in to changing mine just like it. Tes, the outside is a work in progress but we enjoyed the porch, firepit, and neighborhood for walking. I would suggest this cabin to anyone who ask. Well located between all national parks and easy to get to.Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, tourists without a car, age 55+, families with teenagers, pet owners, families with young children, girls getaway.
Owner response: I am always thrilled to hear that my renters enjoyed their stay. We have put a great deal of time and money into our cabin, to make it comfortable and livable. When we purchased our cabin, it was in need of a major overhaul. We have focused much of or time on renovating the inside. The kitchen is one of my proudest accomplishments. We totally gutted the kitchen and updated it with new appliances, cupboards, counter tops and a deep fit granite sink. We also extended the counter top to include a bar area for additional seating. I try to keep the kitchen stocked with amenities that will make the vacation easy and hassle free. As mentioned, the outside of the cabin is still a work in progress. We have added a 900 sq. ft. deck that is made of a material that will withstand the varying weather conditions associated with the mountain. We also added a beautiful fire pit area. The river rock that was used to decorate the fire pit was gathered from our own yard and added to the sides of the fire pit and the walkway one stone at a time. The flagstone was bought in Las Vegas and provides a nice flat area to walk on and also was added to the sitting area of the fire pit. I like incorporating natural materials into the look of the cabin. We do plan to reside the cabin in the future, add a patio cover, and a garage with a mini deck. Both my husband and I, love attention to detail and have used our talents to add many unique qualities to our cabin. We will continue to improve upon our cabins aesthetics, as we plan for this home to be part of our families retreat for years to come. We also want those that rent from us to feel at home, as we do when we are are there.

Stayed there with my wife and 2 teenage sons. It was comfortable, clean and had everything you could want. Friendly people around the community. Great place to go catch fish. You get to see lots of wildlife. Deer, antelope, and wild turkeys. It is perfectly placed between Bryce and Zion. We will deffinatly stay here again. The owners had lots of info for us about all areas around. Very friendly and helpful.Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.

9 cyclists spent one night here. The best part is it was that this was the only owner who would allow us to stay one night on a three-day weekend. For that we were very grateful. The place is not fancy, but we weren't looking for fancy. It is very clean and had every amenity required for tired, hungry cyclists. It was about 5 miles down a gravel road, which made cycling to it on road bikes a bit difficult, but at the same time, it was in a beautiful, serene valley.Recommended for: Age 55+, families with young children, girls getaway.

We had a wonderful time at the cabin escaping life in Las Vegas. The cabin was more than spacious to accomodate five adults with two babies, and two dogs. The little ones had portable play-yards that worked well for their beds. We arrived when Winter seemed to be transitioning into Spring. There was only patches of snow left due to the mild season. The run-off made the creek that flows right passed the front of the cabin, swell to a rumbling little river. It was so relaxing to sit on the front porch with a cup of coffee, or glass of wine, and just listen to the water's movement. It's like listening to a nature CD, but as live music! The interior of the cabin is cozy and welcoming. There's a view of the surrounding valley from any of the large windows. We enjoyed the pot belly stove indoors, as well as the outdoor fire pit. It was surprising to us that the hot water came out faster and hotter than it does at home. We enjoyed preparing meals each night with all the amenities yoiu would find in your own kitchen. One of the highlights of the trip was renting four wheelers from Duck Creek Village, just up the road from Swains Creek. There are marked trails all over the area to explore. We would love to return when all the trees are green and the area is bursting with life, as it was preparing to do.Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, families with teenagers, pet owners, romantic getaway, families with young children.

Our family of four, plus our dog, had a wonderful time at Swains Creek. The temperature was a bit colder than we anticipated; but, we had the appropriate attire. Being from Las Vegas and seeing snow on the side of the house, my kids were excited! They made a snowman about 20 minutes after we arrived. We went on a nature walk, roasted marshmallows, played by the creek, ran in the snow, and had plenty of uninterrupted family time during our two-day stay. My husband initially requested a camping, spring break vacation. I’m just not the camping kind of girl so I sought out a cabin in an environment opposite of where we live. I took a gamble that our kids would enjoy it; and, they did. I think my husband and I were both pleasantly surprised to learn how much our kids enjoyed Swains Creek. We loved our “Utah House,” as my six year-old son affectionately calls it. It had most of the amenities we enjoy at home. We loved not having all the familiarities of home. This allowed us to talk and bond more. I think that’s what we will remember the most about our stay. We hope to return next year!Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

Hi Trish, Thanks for the e-mail. We had a wonderful time in the cabin, and Andy was great helping us get the TV working properly. He was a definite help, as well as a great source of information on things to do in the area. We will most certainly be renting your cabin again, as we really enjoyed the location, and the surrounding valley. Thanks again for your help.Did you find this review helpful? We had two families of 5 staying and this cabin was perfect. Plenty of room with two bedrooms downstairs and the loft for kids. A large kitchen which was well stocked made making meals easy. Huge dining room table had room for everyone. Beds were comfortable and plenty of blankets. The fireplace warmed us up after snowmobiling right from the front of the cabin. Beautiful views and right next to the creek. All the kids asked if we could come back. We will definitely stay again.Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, families with teenagers, pet owners, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.

Owner info
Year Purchased: 2004
About the owner: We purchased this cabin in 2004 as a fixer-upper. We have spent the last 8 years enjoying the cabin while refurbishing the inside. We are not completely finished, but have taken a 1972 cabin that was ready for demolition in to the 21st century. My husband is a carpenter by trait and has added many unique features to our cabin including a spiral staircase, pine wood walls, wood flooring, modern appliance, newly renovated kitchen, and other beautiful features. We love getting away and want to share our great fortune with others.
Why the Owner Chose Duck Creek Village:
We chose to buy this cabin because where others saw work, we saw potential. It has allowed us to take our children away from the city and experience the simpler ways of life, clean air, horseback riding, ATVing, hiking, fishing, and so much more. It is our escape.
The Unique Benefits at this Cabin:
There is nothing like getting up in the morning and sitting on the deck. The air is cool and refreshing, the sound of the creek is relaxing, and the wildlife is extraordinary. At night you can enjoy the outdoors sitting by the fire pit, roasting marshmallows, and telling stories. There are no street lights so the sky's glimmer at night with all of the stars. Fishing is close-by, along with hiking and ATV trails. It is the perfect get away from hectic city life.
