  Swinkels was exactly what we expected after looking at the pictures, speaking with Dennis (the owner) and reading the reviews. Clean, comfortable and affordable. Very easy access to the beach and plenty of romping around for our Jack Russell's! October is a great time to visit; no crowds, but still nice and warm for enjoying your time on the beach or for sight-seeing around Hatteras Island or down at Ocracoke. After 40 years of OBX surf-casting, someone finally shared the "finger mullet rig" secret with me....be sure to visit the local tackle shop and stock up on the rigs and bait if you are down in Frisco during the spring or fall bluefish run. It was nice to actually NEED to use the fish-cleaning table for a change! We inadvertantly left our bike locks attached under the house, which Dennis found and returned to us nearly 6 months after our stay! Overall, a great place to stay. We'd definitely like to come back next year.

  Swinkles is a great place to stay for relaxation. Frisco is quiet and relaxing and still close to all the attractions. The house was clean and very comfortable with beautiful views and everything we needed to have a wonderful vacation. The sunsets over the sound were incredible! It only took a minutes walk to get to the beach which was never crowded and so beautiful. I will definately return to Swinkles when I return to the Outer Banks. The Quarterdeck across the street has wonderful crabcakes and Risky Business seafood market in Hatteras has the best seafood around if you are looking to cook at home!!

  This was a perfect cottage for our family of 5. The layout is nice and effective for a comfortable stay. Great sunrises and sunsets from the decks and screened porch. Beach access is a very short walk & Beach was clean and uncrowded. Location is very conveinient to Buxton (Lighthouse) and Hatteras village. Ocracoke Island is a must see (where we have stayed most years camping) accessable by ferry @ hatteras. Water sports and activities everywhere. We look foward to a future visit. Thanks for sharing your home with us.

  Really comfortable atmosphere, we enjoyed the reverse floor plan with great views from the living area above the bedrooms. We could see the ocean from one deck and the sound from another. The beach house was well equipped with nice appliances, lots of cookware and dishes, entertainment system, and even a movie collection to choose from. We brought our dog and he felt right at home too. Very clean and well kept. We look forward to returning next year.

  VERY CONVENIENT LOCATION....NEAR LIGHTHOUSE...NEAR OCRACOKE FERRY....NEAR SOUND...NEAR SURF....LOVED IT. HOUSE IS COMFORTABLE AND EQUIPPED WITH ALL ESSENTIALS FOR A GREAT STAY. GREAT CRAB CAKES RIGHT ACROSS THE STREET AT QUARTERDECK RESTAURANT. NICE VIEWS!!! HOPE TO BE BACK SOON!
