Sunnyside house description
Fabulous location! Walking distance to Sunnyside Resort, Firesign Cafe, Spoons, Sunnyside Market, Kilner Park and Kent Beach. The Tahoe Rim trail is right up the street for beautiful summer hiking.
Rope lights illuminate the covered walkway to the Hot Tub at night or just walk in from the back deck. Enjoy private forest views while relaxing in the bubbles!
The home sleeps and seats 10 people comfortably. For your entertainment and comfort, we have: a wood-burning river rock fireplace; a 50” Plasma HDTV; Netflix via Roku; Wireless Internet; Wireless Thermostat; a fully equipped kitchen; and a laundry area with full-sized washer and dryer. Each bedroom is fully furnished with its own TV, VCR/DVD player and telephone; the two extra large upstairs bedrooms also have desks, tables and extra seating.
Tahoe is full of wildlife; fascinating to look at, but not so great up close and personal. But you'll be protected by the easily operated Bear Repellant electrical system; so you can relax inside, because the wildlife stays out! There is also a bear-proof garbage building for your use.

Amazing Sunnyside Home!!!!!
Amazing Sunnyside Home!!!!!
We just returned from our family vacation and had the most wonderful stay at this home. We spend a lot of time in Tahoe and this is a renters dream house. First, it is so clean! Second, every amenity you could possibly need, this house has it. It is also in a great location. You are a few minutes from Sunnyside and a short drive or walk into Tahoe City. We can't wait to rent again!!!

Perfect for family reunions
Perfect for family reunions
This is a BIG, roomy house. It has a good layout with two bedrooms up and two down and a bath on each floor. The furniture is comfy, the kitchen is incredibly well equipped, and the neighborhood is wooded and quiet. Everything was very clean, and the owners had left a lot of helpful instructions, inside and out. The outdoor gar BBQ was clean and had tools and plenty of propane. The bear fence offers peace of mind and is easy to operate. Lots of parking is available, including inside the garage. The owners were accommodating, organized, and easy to deal with by phone and by email. We would recommend this property, especially for family groups that just want to spend time together in a beautiful setting. We loved sitting outside on the large deck. "Walking distance" to Sunnyside and the beach is a stretch; it's about a mile, which is a lot if you're loaded with beach stuff and toddlers. If you're going to get in the car anyway, we recommend sandy Commons Beach over the nearby, but rockier, Kent Beach. Fire Sign Cafe has a great lunch menu but go early on Sundays.

About the owner: Hello from Rick and Sandy Matarazzo! We've been coming to Lake Tahoe since the 70's and chose it as our full time home in 1987. We enjoyed summer and winter sports for many years, but in 1995 we left the snow behind to travel in the colder months. We explored the country in our Beaver motorhome for a while and in 2000 we settled down in Arizona's Happy Trails Resort as our winter home. Rick plays Pickleball and Billiards and I enjoy working with Stained Glass. Now that we're no longer staying in Tahoe, we'd love to share the house with folks who enjoy the Tahoe lifestyle!
Why the Owner Chose Sunnyside:
We love the entire Tahoe area, but we especially enjoy the Westshore. It's got an Old Tahoe feel to it, small neighborhood grocery stores and more open space to enjoy. You can hear Ward Creek right across the street. The house backs to conservancy greenbelt so you can walk out either the front and back doors to skiing and hiking trails. The home's on a nice wide street, providing an easy walk to Sunnyside Resort, Spoons or the Firesign Cafe. You're only 5 minutes from town. This location combines the great outdoors with all the conveniences!
The Unique Benefits at this House:
The Hot Tub has a roof over it to keep the snow off and is accessed via a covered walkway; your view from the Hot Tub and the back door is unspoiled forest....there is plenty of open space to snowshoe or dish.....the attached two-car Garage makes it so easy to get into the house when the snow starts piling up.....you can pick up the Alpine Meadows Shuttle to Sherwood at the end of the driveway.....and you have peace of mind that the bears won't invade your personal space because the house is protected by Predator Repellant Electrical Fence.
