Downtown C B, Contemporary, Sunny 2BR + Loft, Stunning Views
- Minimum stay:N/A
- Internet:Yes
- Pets allowed:No
- Wheel chair accessible:No
This modern town home, fully and lovingly renovated in 2011, combines the comfort and style of contemporary furniture with the warmth of family heirlooms, all in a dramatic architectural space. There are NO CLEANING FEES AND NO SECURITY DEPOSITS, so you’ll know in advance exactly what your vacation will cost.
Settling in: Mingle in the upstairs great room, where the kitchen, living, and dining areas flow together under a cathedral ceiling. The Vermont Castings gas stove will keep you toasty on a snowy winter day, while in summer the windows on opposite sides will bring in the fresh mountain air. There’s satellite TV with a built-in DVD player, a stereo-CD player, and 7 megabyte wireless broadband internet. Washer and dryer, too.
Sleeping and unpacking: The two bedrooms, both downstairs, have new queen beds topped with cozy comforters and comfy cotton bedding, closets, and plenty of drawer space. There’s a comfortable full-size sofa-bed in the living room, plus two foam cushions in the loft that make up into two singles for the kids or a queen for another couple.
Cooking and eating: The fully-equipped granite kitchen has everything you’ll need to prepare a morning breakfast or a Thanksgiving family feast. Add the leaves to the dining room table and it expands from seating six to ten. There’s even a covered deck with a gas grill for BBQing year-round. But why you’d want to cook, given CB’s culinary diversity and reputation, is beyond us!
No bathroom traffic jams: The downstairs bath has a double-sink vanity and a separate room for the toilet and tub. Upstairs is another gorgeous ¾ bath with an oversized shower. Plus two-person-wide mirrors in both baths and the softest Egyptian cotton towels you’ve ever wrapped up in.
Views: Enjoy a sunny summer breakfast on the deck with its wildflower garden, or gaze out the great room windows to a knock-your-socks-off view of Mt Created Butte or up-valley to the ski area and the July 4th fireworks celebration.
Getting around: With two off-street parking spaces, you’ll have no alternative side of the street parking hassles to contend with. Just park your car and put away the keys. You’re one block from the Mountain Express bus stop that takes you (for free) straight to Mt Crested Butte and the ski area. You’re one block from the paved “recreation path/bike path” to the mountain; and three blocks from Elk Avenue, Crested Butte’s historic main street, with its shops, restaurants, bars and coffee shops, and more.
Four-season enjoyment: Crested Butte’s best kept secret is its wonderful, sunny four-season climate. Its nearly year-round snow-capped peaks, abundant wildflowers, splendid fall colors, and funky Fourth of July parade make it even more popular in the “other” seasons than it is in the winter.
Keywords: Skiing, X-C skiing, hiking, mountain biking, wildflowers, fall colors, lots of playgrounds, near shuttle to ski area, near historic downtown

Our stay in your townhome could not have been better. If we had a second home in the mountains, it would be just like yours. Thanks so much for the fabulous accommodations. I really appreciated all the strategically placed hand lotion! If we come back with more than just the two of us, we will definitely try to stay with you again. Very best wishes to you, and THANKS again, for everything!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, tourists without a car, families with young children, girls getaway, sightseeing.
Owner response: We're so pleased that you enjoyed our condo and the amenities. Crested Butte is such a wonderful place to enjoy year-round that we do hope you'll come back and stay again soon. Donna

Our visit to Crested Butte, which is a beautiful mountain valley with a vibrant victorian style town full of attractive shops and very good restaurants, and a world class ski area, and in summer great hiking and mountain biking, there are almost more bikes and walkers about then cars, was made very comfortable and like being a part of the place by the rental shown above. It was well appointed and everything we needed was perfectly provided. The stay there made a great place perfect.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, sightseeing.

My sister and I stayed in this lovely condo. It felt like home almost immediately. The beds are very comfortable, the living room is nicely appointed, and the kitchen was well equipped. The heating system kept us warm and cozy throughout our stay. The location just a block from the shuttle stop made getting around the town and the ski area so easy. Sarah responded quickly to any questions we had. And the spring skiing was spectacular! Thank you for sharing your home with us. We strongly recommend eating at Maxwell's anytime and enjoying breakfast at McGill's. And if you need any new skiing equipment, check out Flatiron Sports. They are very knowledgeable and helpful. We'll be back!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, tourists without a car, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, sightseeing.

This is a fabulous place to stay! The condo was exactly as described. Every detail was wonderful – first-class – top-notch – it felt like we were in a luxury hotel! Everything was very clean and well-maintained and the condo is in the perfect location. It was my first trip to Crested Butte and I loved it! We had so much fun – tubing, horseback riding, dog sledding and we even rode the Red Lady up and took the ‘rickshaw’ down to Uley’s Cabin for lunch. Not being a skier, I never thought I’d get to ride the lift in winter! It was amazing up there. We ate great food in town – didn’t have time to try every place I wanted – so I have a list for next year! I would definitely recommend this condo to everyone.Recommended for: Age 55+, tourists without a car, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, sightseeing.

This property is a wonderful place to stay in Crested Butte! We stayed for 4 nights and we loved it! The condo is extremely clean and well-maintained, thanks to the caretaker who is very helpful (thanks again!). The place is bright and filled with sunlight, and it is bigger than what the pictures show... As foodies, we really enjoyed the fully-equipped large open kitchen! The living room is inviting and has the most comfortable recliner seat ever (you'll fight for it!), and the dining room can easily sit a group of six! Very important to us, the beds are very comfortable! We are very grateful to both the owners and the care-taker who really made everything easy and perfect! The condo is nicely decorated (nothing overwhelming!), functional and charming... The place is perfectly equipped, you won't miss anything! Even a fondue set... very enjoyable on winter days!!!!! We really felt like home, it was hard to leave! The condo is close to everything. It is a 10 min walk from the Nordic Center if you want to go skating or cross-country skiing, a 2-minute walk to catch the free shuttle to Mount Crested Butte (10 minute bus ride to reach the base) and a 5-minute walk to the Crested Butte Mountain guides office if you want a little adventure (back-country skiing, ice-climbing, etc...)! This condo is also very close to the only 2 supermarkets in town! And mainly, it is downtown Crested Butte, which is a very welcoming and warm mountain town... you are steps from the life and entertainment of Elk Avenue (you MUST try the Ginger Cafe and the Secret Stash!) Our stay in Crested Butte couldn't have been better! We will be more than happy to recommend this place to friends, relatives or anyone going to Crested Butte... Once again, thank you!!!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, tourists without a car, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, sightseeing.
Owner response: We are extremely pleased that our guests enjoyed their stay at our condominium and in Crested Butte. They are both indeed very special places at any time of the year. Donna + John

Year Purchased: 1992
About the owner: We, Donna and John Mullins, first came to Crested Butte in 1972 and have been in love with the town and area ever since. We are seasoned travelers and still believe Crested Butte is among the most beautiful places in the world. Our two daughters, Kristina and Heather, grew up in Crested Butte as their second home and now share it with their families. Our three year old twin grandsons think riding the big ski bus to the mountain is the coolest thing ever! John is a professor at London Business School and shares his time between England and Colorado. Donna is a gerontologist and senior housing design consultant. We anticipate many, many more years of family enjoyment in Crested Butte and the area.
Why the Owner Chose Crested Butte:
We made a commitment to Crested Butte in 1972 and have owned property of one kind or another here ever since. We wanted a place to call home in the mountains. We enjoy all seasons in Crested Butte and find the drive from the Denver Metro Area spectacular with the time flying by.
The Unique Benefits at this Townhome:
We think it's wonderful that we can park the car and leave it parked during our entire stay if we choose to do so. Almost everything we do is accessible by foot or bicycle or bus. We enjoy hiking, biking, the music, art, playing in the playgrounds and especially the restaurants in town..
