Villa Mo is a great place for a relaxed vacation. We stayed there with our two kids (4+2) and had our parents visiting us for some days. The house is very spacious, and there is also lots of space on the terrace. The pool was great for the kids, and you just pass the garden to reach the beach. Monica and Juan were really great hosts, and Jani, who helps with the house, is a great cook! Monica also showed us around in Las Terrenas, which was very helpful. We liked going to Las Terrenas, especially to the buy fresh bread at the Boulangerie Francaise - just delicious. The minimarket run by Monica and Juan is only 5 min from the house. A car is helpful, but not necessarily required (the walk to Las Terrenas over the beach takes about one hour). The beach is great, and is especially good for surfing and kite surfing. All in all a great place, and we really enjoyed our stay there - thanks, Monica and Juan!

We spent the New Years with our family at Mo Villa. It was a great experience and can only give it a high five. I have recommended it to family and friends who want to visit DR and don't want the restriction of an "all included resort". Having the owners on property is and added advantage and very helpful. Looking forward to future stays a Villa Mo. We really enjoyed the fresh seafood prepared the Samana way with coconut.

Our stay at Villa Mo was memorable. The weather was perfect, great access to the beach. We were treated to Dominican excellent cuisine. We bought fresh catch from the fish market at Las Terrenas. The prawans and Mahi mahi were cooked to perfection. Try the local coconut sauce and fried Yucca-truly incredible! We took a horse back ride to the water falls at El Limon and spent a day at Cayo Levantado-both must sees!

My trip to Villa Mo was a dream come true. It was my first time to the Dominican Republic and it could not have been a more excellent destination. The house is beautifully designed to incorporate the natural elements of the ocean breeze and the sound of the waves to create a relaxing environment amid charming and elegant furnishings. The atmosphere was one of total relaxation, coupled with many available activities for those who were seeking adventure. We took a horse back ride to the most stunning waterfall and ate a delicious traditional meal in the town of El Portillo and went sightseeing and shopping for local art in nearby Las Terranas. There were many other day trips to choose from, including snorkeling and visits to local national parks. The beautiful days on the beach and the gorgeous full moon nights were unforgettable as we relaxed on the private beach that faces the property. It was truly a secluded tropical wonderland, yet within reach of the beautifully appointed home with all of the amenities of an exclusive hotel. The owners Monica and Coqui were very gracious hosts and the staff provided fantastic meals, excellent service and advice about local attractions and were just great people to get to know. My family, including my two year old grandson, were with me on the trip and we all found things that we enjoyed doing and there was plenty of space and excitement to keep everyone entertained. The beach is perfect for small children and adults and the pool was a tremendous hit with everyone! This is a place that was a dream come true for our entire family and we all made lasting family memories and life long friends while staying at Villa Mo. If you are traveling to the area, Villa Mo is the only destination you should consider! Once you have been, you can't wait to go back. The photos included not only reflect the beauty of the Villa, but hardly do justice to the actual beauty of the actual setting and reality of being there in person. Enjoy!

I visited the Villa this year and had a great time! This place is truly nestled in a corner of paradise and the views are breathtaking. Imagine a tropical paradise in your back yard! The villa was clean, roomy, and nicely decorated. Excursions are easy to access and nearby and we had a lot of fun going to the waterfall nearby on horseback. I would recommend that anyone thinking of visiting the "DR" consider Villa Mo. You can get a real DR experience away from the resorts and still have a beautiful, clean, and safe place to stay.

Villa Mo: paradise!

After a wonderful few days at here last August, I definitely added Villa Mo to my Top 5 places to stay around the world. It's private, comfortable, welcoming and totally gorgeous. We were in the Dominican Republic for a friend's wedding, and we could not ask for a better, more relaxing escape from the city. The beach is incredibly beautiful - that stunning shade of aqua that is only available in the Caribbean - and calm, gentle and great for swimming. There are plenty of sites to see and activities nearby, but you won't want to do anything except enjoy the ocean & sip a cocktail. I've traveled all over the world, and I rarely feel a desire to return to any particular place (there's too much else to see!), but Villa Mo is like a home away from home. I can't wait to visit again!

I am so glad that my daughter chose Villa Mo as the location for her destination wedding in the Dominican Republic. The house itself is a work of art, just beautifully designed architecturally and takes full advantage of the breathtaking ocean views, with the sound of the waves and the ocean breeze included. The decor is elegant yet relaxing, it could be anyone's idea of a dream home! Add to this, the personal attention and assistance of the lovely owners Monica and Cuqui and their staff who were happy to make the event extra special. The house was able to accommodate our nine family members which included the bride and groom very comfortably. It was also nice that a large group of young adult guests were able to rent a more rustic nearby villa on the beach that was very affordable as a group and they had a fantastic time attending the wedding and being guests of the house. There is also a beautiful resort just a short walk down the beach where other guests stayed. So, this house is ideal for large events such as weddings, family reunions, large get-togethers but would certainly be great also for just an intimate place to relax for a couple, a group or an individual. All the guests really enjoyed the house and the proximity to Las Terrenas to participate in the culture, view and buy inexpensive local artwork, enjoy restaurants, and shopping for souvenirs. We enjoyed the beach at Villa Mo under the sun and under the moonlight, the water was clear and perfect for a swim. The beach was great for walking and the area was very safe for adults and children. Some guests took advantage of affordable excursions during their stay which were easy to arrange. Of course the main event was the wedding and reception which was perfect. We had fantastic food, flowers, the beach and plenty of room for dancing to a DJ that evening. I would think it was a dream except for the beautiful photos that were taken! After I was home again, I would wish I could hear the rooster crowing in the morning that meant I was at Villa Mo and could wake to another day there, but no, it was just my alarm clock for work. :) I will definitely return there.

Perfect Vacation Awaits

I cannot fully put into words how beautiful and comfortable the house is. I have honestly never seen a more perfect house in my life. The whole place has so much air and light, and the pool is just the cherry on top. The staff was amiable and warm, and they were very accommodating every time we needed anything. The town of El Portillo close to the Villa was adorable and the ocean (which is literally steps from the house) was calm and perfect; you can even see some mountain peaks in the distance from the beach. You can access a lot of really affordable and fun excursions from the town, including snorkeling, horse rides to waterfalls, day long boat trips to national parks, etc, etc. My cousins brought their 2 year old, and it was a really easy place to have children stay. I didn't ever want to go home. I'm definitely going to stay here again.

Portillo Paradise!!!

Our family stayed at the Villa Mo Guest House for a week and we truly enjoyed it! Not only did we have a great stay but it was so relaxing and this is exactly what we wanted. The house was a clean, comfortable, spacious and friendly for the kids and the entire family. This is a good choice for people with children. My house was equipped with everything that we needed so we really did not need a car or any transportation to go anywhere. We had a wonderful view of the ocean and there were plenty of activities for the kids so you don't have to leave too far to enjoy everything. We will surely like to go back one day and visit again!!

Our family (10 including 3 small children) loved our stay at Villa Mo. Our hostess, Monica and her husband couldn't have been more welcoming and helpful. The villa was all we had hoped for, very comfortable, and spacious. Monica got a crib for the baby and there were board and card games to play. Our every need was looked after. Marisol looked after the villa and cooked for us most of the evenings and we ate very well indeed. She helped us with the shopping, showing us the best places to buy things, especially fish. We all came away saying we want to return again very soon. We felt we made some new friends and loved every minute of our stay. I highly recommend a stay at Villa Mo.

Beautiful and relaxing home. Wonderful views of the ocean and palm trees, as we watched the kite surfers entertain us. Sunning on the beach or by the pool was great. We enjoyed relaxing on the wonderful and comfortable covered patio, and had a full time friendly cook, who fixed us great meals. Occasionally we ate in town at one of the many restaurants. Town is a short trip by car, but we did mostly window shopping there. The people were very friendly. Beautiful swimming beaches everywhere. Many thanks to the friendly and helpful owners, Monica and Cookie for sharing their lovely home with our family. Thank you for making our trip special.

This is one of the most exclusive houses in the Terrenas Beaches, Price is Great, Service is Excellent, Amenities are great, the House is well equipped and strategically positioned near to the beach, The security is great and the Cooker Marisol is truly amazing, everybody should try Fish with Coconut or " Pescado con Coco" a typical and traditional dish in " as Terrenas" , Every time I will come back to terrenes, Villa Mo at portillo will be my first choice. Is a triple AAA opportunity Do not hesitate to live the Potillo´s Experience.

Our family of 6 adults spent the week between Christmas and new year's at Villa Mo and had an amazing time. This property is gorgeous, super clean and well-maintained and steps from the beautiful beach. But the best part were the friends we made. Marisol, Wendy, Monica and Cuqui are terrific and made us feel like family coming to visit.... except with the royal treatment! :) The food was exceptional and we had the great combination of modern comfort with a secluded environment to relax. We thank the owners for sharing their beautiful proerty with us and making our vacation the best one in 20 years!

The property is as beautiful as it is described in this ad and also offers a relaxing atmosphere. The owners are extremly friendly and go out of their way to ensure that your stay is as wonderful as possible. I would definetly recommed this property to someone that is trying to get away from the daily grind and wants to enjoy a wonderful time with friends and family. I loved that the beach is just a few steps away from the property, it is so close that you can hear the ocean while laying in bed at night! Truly Heaven! Cannot way to go back!!

Beautiful villa on the Beach. 4 bedrooms, full furnished and equiped, nice decoration. The owners are a funny couple and the maid cooks delicious food. Close to Las Terrenas Town were you can find gift shops, stores and a wide variety of restaurants. Road access is great, you can see the ocean from miles and miles away. A domestic flight airport within walking distance and an international airport at less than an hour away. We really enjoyed our stay. We didnt want it to end. I loved the walks by the calm beach which at the same time is ideal for kite surfing. We enjoyed watching the breathtaking sunsets. A stay in Villa Mo is an unfurgetable experience. Dont miss out on it.

We visited Villa Mo for a week and we LOVED IT! We could relax, my kids enjoy the sorrounding nature. My 5 y.o. boy loved doing horse backrinding. The maids were very helfull, and their food is the BEST EVER! They even helped with my 8month baby! I could enjoy the pool and beach, to come back to have our meal and house done!! I totally recomend it. We tried a "Morir sonando" (like a special milkshake) for breakfast that we loved! I recomend going to "El limon" waterfalls. Is a gorgeus place to visit, although you finish been exhausted. We also took the tour to visit los Haitises, and were able to see the WHALES!!! We are planing coming back again!

We stayed in Villa Mo for 5 days in the summer and just love it, is a great place for family vacations with all the confort you need, the house is full equiped, great hosts, great food and ideal for big families, my 2 and 3 years olddaughters had a great time. The kids can enjoy of the most calm and beatyfull beach, Portillo its a great place to relax and have wonderfull vacations. The area offers so many tourist attractions and activities from the mos relaxing to the most adventur. Being in Portillo and stay at Villa Mo it's like being in PARADISE.

Villa Mo, the name of this corner of paradise, is a place you wish you could never leave, and when you do, you look forward to coming back! We spent a week there in June and we loved everything: the house is on the beach and you can walk miles either ways, the ocean is calm and blue and so inviting all day long, the villa itself was built by the owners with such a care in decoration, comfort and details that you feel at home the moment you open the door. I can only say I miss Villa Mo and all the wonderful people I met there!

I know the area very well and let me tell you that of all the places i've stayed, this is BY FAR the most awesome villa in the area. It's located in a private residential area and it's just 100 mts from the most beautiful, turquoise water and golden sands beach i have ever encountered. It's owned and operated by a very laid back couple that live in a studio right on the property. They were very attentive and helpful with everything we asked for. The house itself is in amazing state, everything is in pristine condition and the decor is absolutely wonderful. The maid is an amazing cook and fed us delicious traditional home cooked meals everyday! This place is perfect for a family vacation, a trip with friends, and even a romantic getaway. There are plenty of activities to do in the area, from hiking to kitesurfing. To make things better, the charming little town of Las Terrenas is only 4km away. Hailed the "St. Tropez" of the caribbean, this town is home to one of the largest french communities outside europe, and you can immediately confirm this. The sweet smell of bakeries, the coffee, and the food...oh the food!!! If you're looking to escape the traditional touristy places, or fake resorts, this is the place for you!

This villa is located in Portillo, probably one of Dominican Republic's most beautiful beaches. I spent my childhood vacations on this beach so I still see it occasionally in my dreams. Some of my fondest memories were forged in this Paradise amongst family and dear friends. Last year I stayed in this beautiful new villa with some friends for 3 nights. This is hands down the best rental opportunity in the area!! Comfortable spaces and the most beautiful setting. It has been a year since my last visit and I still carry a picture of the beach on my mobile phone wallpaper. :) Can't wait to get back!!
