The apartment was clean, well kept, and we felt right at home. Whole Foods was right around the corner and there are a ton of restaurants within walking distance, not to mention the convenience of being half a block from Golden Gate Park. Highly recommended in the area: Magnolia (pub food), Pork Store Cafe (Californian/Mexican diner), and the Lands End Trail. Many thanks to Mica!Recommended for: Sightseeing, tourists without a car, age 55+.

This place was perfect for my husband and I as we explored SF. It has everything you need, is close to cafes, shopping, and delis, plus you can walk to Golden Gate Park. Quiet neighborhood and it was great for morning walks. Parking was our only issue but as long as you pay attention to the street cleaning signs it isn't that bad. Next time we will rent bikes instead. Mica and Kathy were very helpful! Thank you for a great stay!Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, tourists without a car.

This apartment has everything you need for your home away from home. It's a great location for enjoying the Haight/Golden Gate Park area and just a $2 trip to go virtually anywhere else. You don't need a car and can find free parking if you're patient. I really appreciated all the extra touches in the apartment, believe me you won't be in need of anything and with Whole Foods around the block it's easy to take advantage of the kitchen. I loved the big windows and the wifi signal is great (I've stayed in some where it's practically non-existent). Finally I can't say enough about how nice and accomodating Mica and Kathy are. I've already booked another stay with them!Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, tourists without a car, pet owners, romantic getaway, girls getaway.

We had a terrific stay in this studio (thanks, Mica and Kathy!) - we were so pleased with the choice. The studio is very comfortable for two people. We thought there would be some street noise since the studio is on the front, on the first floor, but it wasn't an issue at all for us. The park is only half a block away so it is a wonderful location for running on the trails there. The Muni stop is only about a 5-10 min (?) walk from the room, an easy $2 ride into downtown for my conference at the Moscone, and the restaurants in this part of town are much better than what's available downtown (in my opinion!). The owners were very friendly, professional, and helpful. Street parking was no problem for us - we got parking spots within half a block of the apartment every time we moved the car.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

Hello Kathy and Micah. We just wanted to say we had a wonderful stay at your studio. It was a great location, convenient to transportation and your studio was just perfect for our needs. It had everything we needed to feel comfortable. I was able to cook meals, which we wanted to be able to do. A grocery store was just around the corner! We had no problem finding street parking. David and I and the girls thoroughly enjoyed San Francisco...Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, tourists without a car, age 55+, families with young children.

About the owner: We bought and lived in this building for many years. I love the look of it and since my mother and grandmother and sons were all born in San Francisco, I really wanted to own a piece of it. This is our castle. I volunteer at the Academy of Sciences in Golden Gate Park and love spending nights here. My husband and I are both retired chemists who enjoy what the city has to offer. Members of the family have lived here for different amounts of time. Currently we live in Marin.
Why the Owner Chose Haight Ashbury:
San Francisco is a unique city and the variety and quantity of foods, entertainments, shopping experiences, etc. make it an ideal place to own a vacation rental Also, my sons would be fifth generation San Franciscans if I hadn't been born in Texas. It is extremely convienent for me to walk to the Academy of Sciences when I work there from this apartment and we have many friends who live in the neighborhood.
The Unique Benefits at this Studio:
As with most vacations, it is away from home. I can easily walk or take public transportation to any part of the city-to the Ferry building for the farmers market or a trip to Sausalito-to USF for classes, to UCSF to visit patients we know. There is also just great city energy.
