Terrific Cabin

My family and I just stayed here for Columbus Day Weekend, and we all agreed our stay was too short. This is a terrific place to get away from it all. The cabin is well furnished and appointed, with everything in the kitchen needed to prepare anything you may want to prepare during your stay. My family and I want to make a stay here an annual or semi-annual occurrence.

My husband and I stayed here last year and we can't wait to go back. It was so nice to have a place exceed your expectations. The cabin was clean and cozy. The area is very quiet and secluded and perfect for relaxing. Our favorite memories are hiking Owl's Head Mountain (so cool to explore the cave we came across) and really enjoyed canoeing & fishing from the private dock. Fishing resulted in one nice size Pike and lots of small perch. We would walk our dog on the many dirt roads leading right from the cabin door and never came across another person. Another favorite memory is canoeing over to Belly's restaurant and coming back in the moonlight. It really felt like an escape. Lots of good memories & relaxing by the fire. Much thanks to the owners for sharing this Adirondack treasure.
Owner response:We want all our guest to enjoy our authentic waterfront log cabin in the beautiful Adirondack mountains as much as we do!!

We couldn't have dreamed of a better time!!!! We loved your cabin, the grounds, all your special touches (well appointed kitchen, great movies and games to name a few!), your beautiful canoe, the shooting stars, the crazy loons, the beaver we saw canoeing back from Belly's one night for dinner, the fishing, and the peacefulness. What a treasure you have. I really miss being at the cabin. It's funny how some places are such a perfect fit and feel like home, or at least ,very familiar. How did you ever find the cabin? The whole area was fantastic! Loved the beach at Indian Lake, too! Please keep us in mind if you do have to sell at any point. At the very least, we would loooove to come back again! Thanks you for entrusting us to your little piece of heaven!

My family had a wonderful time at this cabin. We stayed for two weeks at the end of August. The weather was crisp and cool, and there were no bugs. The lake is beautiful and the outdoor fun is endless...lots of hiking, swimming, fishing, boating, campfires, etc. The cabin is just as beautiful as the pictures; and it is well equipped with everything you need to make your stay enjoyable. Beware of the following: 1. This cabin has mice. If you are the squeamish type, think twice. Store all your food in tightly sealed containers. We just put everything in the refrigerator. 2. This cabin is dirty. If you are traveling with young children who crawl (my son was eleven months old), it is nearly impossible to keep them clean. 3. This cabin allows pets. Pet hair and dander are everywhere. If you have allergies bring lots of medicine or think twice. 4. Everything is far away. Expect a 1/2-1 hour drive to get anywhere (even the grocery store). Overall are trip was wonderful. The trip to Ausable Chasm was worth the drive. My young boys loved the rafting (even the eleven month old!). It was nice to get back to the North Country for a few weeks.
Owner response:Please note that our cabin is on 6+ private wooded acres so occassionally mice are attracted to the food left by guests and get inside the cabin. We always set traps and have it exterminated annually. As far the cabin being dirty, in states in the lease that all renters should leave the cabin in renter ready condition since we can't offer a clearning service and we want the cabin to be affordable for families. We always contact each guest to inquire about the condition of the cabin and did not receive any complaints from the guests above so we were surprised to read the cabin was not in good conditon. We require a security deposit for this very reason. The cabin is definitely pet friendly (clearly advertised) and most of our guests bring their pets which are part of the family. Again we require the cabin be left in good condition and if if sn't ou property manager is required to clean up and we pass that costs on. Most guests have commented in our guest book they love brining their pets and are willing to accept responsibility by cleaning up after them. It is true the cabin is private, quiet and located in the Adirondack park so everything is approx 1/2-1 hour away as advertised. I provided cabin area information, activites and other websites which states this as well. I am glad the guests above enjoyed their stay and we appreciate alll constructive feedback. The majority of our guests have been coming for several years so we will continue to work on customer satisfaction.

We encourage our guests to provide comments on this online guestbook. We have a guestbook at the cabin as well and we read every comment. We found many useful suggestions including favorite local hikes, swimming holes and critter sightings. We really do learn alot and appreciate the feedback. We want our guests to enjoy being at an authentic ADK log cabin with their family including those with 4 legs (we have two labs!). There is lots of privacy, peace and natural beauty all around. We supply the cabin, lake, dock, firewood and some outside chairs and you make the memories!!
