If I could have wished for one thing it would be for a white Christmas. We'll we got it! Besides the most perfect Christmas the Ridge View is the most perfect place. I have stayed at many cabins in the Carolina mountains but this is the best. The all around view of the valley and the other mountains from inside the cabin is spectacular. The open floor plan with cathedral ceilings makes the cabin so spacious. Sitting in the Hot tub with the snow falling on your head is a moment to remember. Relaxing by a cracking and roaring fire with a cup of hot spice apple cider is another memory that won't be forgotten. A photo of the sun rays shining on the new fallen snow isn't like experiencing the real thing. It's 10 minutes to Waynesville for supplies and groceries. We had the best breakfast at the Mountaineer restaurant just outside of Maggie Valley on Hwy 19. It has a beautiful view and homey atmosphere with old antique piano to play and sing along. It's a very private location so you can short walks on the less traveled trials to clear your mind of the worries and woes. Up to date kitchen and bathrooms and comfortable beds you can't ask for more. The paved road is easy to navigate all the way to the cabin. We enjoyed watching and feeding the little snow birds that would appear and disappear at a blink of the eye. Fast Internet service and Dish TV plus HDMI...Warm, cozy, comfortable, relaxing, and reasonable priced for what you get. We will have a Merry Christmas & Happy holiday!

What a beautiful home. We brought our oldest grandson with us and we all had a wonderul time. We enjoyed sitting on the deck looking across the wonderful mountain view. We enjoyed watching the clouds rising from the valley to the top of the mountain and beyond. We had a visit from a bird every morning "Crazy Bob", seeing the shadow on the sky on the windows and sliding glass doors, he had to think he was flying through the sky (but he was flying into the glass). Our grandson enjoyed a visit to Cherokee and Ghost Town in the Sky, and being able to enjoy the mountain streams skipping rocks. We highly recommend this beautiful home, we were able to leave the windows open at night enjoying the coolness of the mountain breeze and during the day enjoy the breeze with the sliding glass doors open, nevering turning on the AC. We left on Saturday with the temp. being 67 degrees having to return home to South GA at temp. in the 90's. Thank you for sharing your home with strangers and making us feel like family while in your home.

My husband and I rented this wonderful home near the mountain top over the week including Memorial Day. The house itself is lovely, spacious, and comfortable, with beautiful, restful views of the ridge below and the ridge across the valley--so lush and green, here at the beginning of summer! Access to the home was very easy--a nice drive up the mountain (which made us feel we were really getting away) and a very easy access up the nicely graded and well gravelled driveway. Very simple to get in and out, and far enough up the mountain to ensure privacy and beautiful quiet! The towns of Waynesville and Asheville, not too far away, had wonderful shops and great restaurants, when we went exploring. The days were warm and the nights and mornings, cool and great for sleeping. On the one day we had rain, it felt like we were enveloped in the clouds. We loved our stay and will definitely go back again next year. We highly recommend this property--and our conversations with the owners were most helpful, they are maintaining a beautiful, comfortable, well-cared for home.

Horrible driveway entry issue. Neither one of our cars could make it on the 1st attempts - Its' an extremely steep & sharp turn to get into this property. It was perfect weather - no rain/snow etc. - The driveway needs to be re-graded and paved. The view from the main deck & living room is the power line view (last picture). And you get to be your own garbage man....the instructions for departure lets u know that......so u can travel home with it in your car or leave it and they charge you $5. per bag......only one trash can inside - NONE outside - and the county convenient stations u could take it to are closed on SUNDAYS....the day we were leaving. And the real estate company does NOT have a dumpster so u can have an option either. I say..."Hog Wash" on your trash charge, stop nickel and dimeing your guest...u have no solution but to leave it on Sundays !

Manager response: We are always interested in feedback from our guests and hope that everyone will be happy with our house. Our apologies for a less than perfect stay. A Ridge View is up in the mountains at 4000 ft and while there is no trash pickup, the collection sites are very conveniently located. Because we typically rent the house from Saturday to Saturday, the "closed on Sunday collection sites" do not usually cause a problem. We are happy however, to accommodate vacationers who would like to spend a long weekend and depart on a Sunday. Wow!! We were surprised by the strong commentary on the driveway as we have never had any complaints. Certainly steep inclines come with the mountain location but we take feedback seriously and have contracted for an evaluation and potential modification of the driveway. We will certainly do any repairs necessary to make coming and going easier.

We have been visiting A Ridge View for a number of years. The proximity to hiking, rafting, skiing, tubing, and nature in general, cannot be beat. It is also close to Maggie Valley and Waynesville and 1/2 hour from Asheville. There is so much to see and you can never be bored!

I have been to this lovely house several times and absolutely love it. As a matter of fact, I am on my way there next week for a repeat experience. It is nestled in the mountains above the charming town of Waynesville...and only 20 minutes to Asheville. The hiking in the area is spectacular...and plenty more to do if you love the outdoors...I also love all the anitiquing in the area too... ...you can't beat the Sunsets sitting on the porch looking out on all the Mountains resding a book and drinking tea!

                          Why Waynesville:
We bought this house to get away from the heat and hustle and bustle of city life in Miami.. and come to the mountains. Since then we have moved from Miami to Minneapolis, New York City and now Cincinnati. No matter where we live we always come back to the mountains for vacation.

The Unique Benefits at this House:
We love to hike and there are so many outstanding hiking trails around Western North Carolina. Lake Junaluska is about 15 minutes and we love to go down the mountain and take a walk around the lake . it is quite beautiful!!! The town of Waynesville is historic and has lots of wonderful shops. When we want a dose of the city, Asheville is about 20 miles east of here. We love having lunch or dinner at the Grove Park Inn sitting on the terrace and looking back at the mountains, who knows you may even see a President!! Asheville also has great shopping, art and great people watching!! There are several access points to the Blue Ridge Parkway and the drive is just breathtaking. Because Smokey Mountain National Park is so close there are many hikes to choose from. There are trails good for all types of hikers from beginners to advanced ... it never gets old. If you just want to have a relaxing day at home sit out on the deck where there is a panoramic view of the mountains. Put your feet up, have a nice cold beverage and read a good book or just look at the mountains... nothing better than this!!
