Just up the avenue at 60th Street and 1st Avenue is a Flagship Food Emporium a block long. It is the best in the city. TJ MAX just opened beside it..
And there is a Citibank on the corner of 1st avenue and 57 street. If you have forgotten any toiletries Duane Reed is on 1st Avenue between 57 and 58 street and Bed Bath and Beyond is at 61 Street and 1st Avenue. Walk to Bloomingdales, Zaras, Daffy's, Diesel, H&M etc on Lexington avenue. Lunch at California Pizza Kitchen after shopping at Bloomingdales or stop by Sprinkles and enjoy the gourmet cupcakes. This is a fun area with lots of shopping, a strip of restaurants and casual cafes. Additionally a great spot to get to all areas of the city.

57th street is a midtown hub. You are one block north! Fast transportation is just Steps Away : R,N @ 60 St & 3rd Ave and stops right at Times Square, ROCKEFELLER CENTER, 34TH ST HERALD SQUARE (MACY'S) and continues on to UNION SQUARE AND SOHO. Subways~4,5,6, @ Lexington Avenue & 59 St ~The 6 train takes you to China town.
Walk or take the 57 STREET cross town bus to Tiffany's, Bergdorf Goodman, CENTRAL PARK,
Carneighie Hall.
On 5th Ave visit St. Patrick's Cathedral, shop at Tiffany's, Cartier, Feragamo, Prada, Trump shopping mall ,Saks etc

The apartment definitely corresponds to the description, it is nicely furbished and all amenities are in excellent condition. It has been freshly repainted, and was perfectly clean with fresh linen and towels provided. We spent a very nice week there with our 2 daughters, the beds are excellent, it is calm at night (you can only hear some distant street noise), the comfort of the living room with a modern flat TV and wifi, and a dining area where we could easily sit all 4 to have a meal prepared in the small kitchenette. The bathroom looks a bit older than the rest of the apartment, but is perfectly clean and functional. I would have given only 4 stars however because the apartment is not close to a metro station, there is no real view from the windows, and the building and lift are not very welcoming. But Kelly's awesome service clearly compensates those small drawbacks. She was very flexible with our check-in check-out times and she literally saved our holidays when we had a problem with our return flight. Five stars !Recommended for: Tourists without a car, girls getaway, families with young children, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with teenagers.

Five stars !Owner response: We are actually very nearby 2 different subway lines on either side of Bloomingdales at 59~60th street. The R train on 3rd avenue side and the 6 train on Lexington avenue side. No need for expensive taxis! Located around the corner from 57 street, a major cross street, which is a select (limited express) bus stop on all avenues.
