My fiancé and I had a wonderful stay at Carol's guesthouse. We were in Phoenix on a short visit to house hunt in preparation for our upcoming move to the city. Not only were we completely comfortable in the guesthouse, but Carol also gave us some excellent advice and insight regarding our home search. She went above and beyond as an amazing host! The location of the guesthouse is excellent. It's on a quiet and very nice street in a historic Phoenix neighborhood. We jogged around the neighborhood in the morning and walked 2 blocks to dinner on 2 separate nights. Postino and Federal Pizza were both wonderful! We are happy that we found a house on our short visit, but I will definitely recommend Carol's guesthouse to family and friends that visit me in Phoenix. Highly recommend!Recommended for: Age 55+, romantic getaway, adventure seekers, sightseeing.

Great property in a central location. Easy access to I-17. So much better than staying in a hotel. It was everything we could have asked for. Full kitchen. Decent sized bathroom. The bed was great. It was so nice to have a private pool right outside the door. The owner was very nice and helpful. Many restaurants within walking distance. A grocery store just down the street. This is a great place for 1-2 people, either on vacation or business. I would definitely recommend this to friends and relatives. Next time we are in Phoenix, I hope the casita is available!Recommended for: Age 55+.
Owner response: I am so happy you enjoyed the area, restaurants, shopping and all the amenities. I look forward to your return.

We really enjoyed our stay in Carol's guesthouse. We felt very relaxed and refreshed after a few days next to the pool reading and absorbing some of the Arizona sun. The property was clean and well-maintained and the photos online accurately reflect the rental. Carol was very helpful and spent time with us explaining the different features of the rental. I would definitely stay here again.Recommended for: Age 55+, tourists without a car.

Home away from home, very clean with all the conveniences. We enjoyed the restaurants that were within walking distance. If you enjoy antiquing like we do there is also an excellent antique shop nearby. It was nice to stroll around the area and chat with the friendly neighbours. After a long day of sightseeing and shopping it was most enjoyable to relax by the pool or in the gazebo. We particularly adored having Carol's dog Macy around. A wonderful companion and a real sweetheart. Carol was very friendly and helpful always available for anything we needed. We have already recommended this little jewel to our freinds and relatives and plan on returning some day.Recommended for: Age 55+, tourists without a car, sightseeing.

In the perfect North Central Phoenix location (one block from intersection of Central & Camelback) that is totally private - the perfect size for 1 or 2 people with all the comforts of home. Recently remodeled - everything is new. Nice kitchen (actually kind of oversized for a cottage) with a full size oven/range, microwave, fridge. Updated bath, wood floors throughout, new furniture, sliding patio doors lead right out to the pool that guests have all to themselves as owner doesn't use - you might have to share with the resident dog who is a sweetheart. Nice backyard area with grill so you can even have guests over. It is also a quick walk to the Light Rail so you can park the car (or don't even need a car while you are there) and go downtown or all the way to Tempe on the train. We only rented a car for an extended trip to Sedona and Jerome for a day. Owner bends over backwards to make you feel welcome (we had Xmas cookies waiting for us when we arrived) and is perfectly happy to answer questions and provide directions or advice on restaurants, sightseeing, shopping, etc. Other than the weather being unseasonally cold for this Xmas/New Years time period, we really enjoyed staying in this cottage and would definitely consider staying there again.Recommended for: Age 55+, tourists without a car, sightseeing.

The "casita" was so convenient to the light rail (I was attending a conference). My hotel-staying colleagues were jealous of our private pool, gazebo with grill, full kitchen, and off-street parking! The owner was helpful and included many amenities, including a W/D and iron. The location was quiet and convenient to grocery stores (including Trader Joe's and AJ's) and several restaurants for a quick bite after a long day. We had a car, and it was easy to get to the major routes to do some sightseeing. We would DEFINITELY stay here again if we travel to Phoenix!Recommended for: Age 55+, romantic getaway.

My husband and I couldn't have been more pleased with the guesthouse! It had everything we needed, certainly more than a hotel of comparable price would provide, and really felt like home! We spent the majority of our trip in Tempe (for the Arizona Ironman), and the house really felt like a short drive away from anywhere and everywhere we wanted to go. Carol was also very helpful in making sure we had everything we needed. It wasn't quite warm enough to use the pool, but we still sat out in the lounge chairs and enjoyed the yard and sunshine. Highly recommended!!!Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 2/2

The palce worked out great. Easy access to the light rail and to downtown. Nice grocery store and resturants within walking distance. Quiant little part of town. The place itself was clean, well equipped, and comfortable. I was in town for a conference at the Convnetion Center, a far better alternative to a downtown hotel room. The owner was friendly but gives you your privacy. I would definatley stay there again.Recommended for: Age 55+, adventure seekers, tourists without a car.

About the owner: I am a licensed commercial real estate & mortgage broker and have lived in Phoenix for the past 30 years. I have always lived in North Central Phoenix because of the fabulous historic neighborhoods and quaint, locally-owned shops and restaurants. I purchased this home 20 years ago and haved watched this neighborhood flourish and transform into one of the most desirable in the city. I love that I am so close to downtown Phoenix and I've watched it grow and mature into one of the nation's true "hot spots".
