Our private Blue Line Stables guest camp with horses on premise, sits on a knoll overlooking the rapids of the South Branch SCENIC Grasse River( Scenic classification is determined bY NYSDEC and Adirondack Park Agency and places very restrictive limits on future development). The distant sounds of the river flowing provide a gentle melody. Not too loud but, just right.
The cabin provides 1 bedroom down with queen bed ,and upstairs sleeping loft with 2 twins, a walkway connected to a front living loft with TV and fold down double futon.A full bathroom downstairs and open concept living, dining, and cooking area. There are 2 flat screen TVs (Dish provider) DSL cable internet- WIFI ,and phone(new strong cell phone service).
The dining area has service for 4-6 with 2 refrigerators and lp gas stove with oven. The sliding doors in the kitchen opens onto the deck. The deck overlooks the pond and river with seating for 6 including a table with umbrella. This easterly facing spot is great place to start your day with your morning cup of coffee.
The pond provides a private place to sunbathe and relax. There is a swing set and sand pile for the children. Horseshoe pits are established for those so inclined. There is a 12 foot rowboat ,18 ft canoe, and paddleboat and 2 kayaks for guests use.
Our property adjoins the 6 million acre Adirondack Park with the Blue Line(park boundary) as our eastern border. The surrounding forest land within the park allows public access (this was recently opened to the public July 1,2012) We offer 25 acres of forest and pastures with 1800 feet of riverfront. Our 8 horses make their home here.Trails along the river and pasture perimeters are for hiking, sightseeing, golf cart rides and horse back riding. We have 3 picnic areas along the river with fire rings and wood supplies.Nice places to sit and watch the beaver floating or trout rising. geese with goslings;otter and mink at play, Often we see a doe crossing the river with one or two fawns..We like to relax and picnic at these spots.Sometimes we throw a line in the water towards dark as the brown trout become more active.
The nights dark skies showcase the stars and planets that sometimes offer a brilliant display. It is especially pleasant to hear the yip of the coyotes among the other nocturnal sounds.A cozy fire provides a special aura some even say spiritual ..
Our horses are all friendly and gentle. However it is important to remember they can be spooked as any prey animal (that they are).We train them using gentle techniques. We enjoy ,respect and love the animals. We have rescued 3 of the 8 horses (providing them with a better life). Our goal is to provide a forever home and to grow as possible by adding horses needing help.Any proceeds generated from renting our cabin and riding are dedicated to the needs of horses and animals .
Nearby are a series of waterfalls outside our property entrance along the Tooley Pond Road. The 7 waterfalls ('St Lawrence County Waterfalls Guide') are 1 -7 miles from our location. Some are visible from the road and others are a short hike (2000ft).

About the owner: We love the woods and water with all that nature has to offer. This location bordering the Adirondack Park with river waterfront looked like a perfect place to build. We bought the lot in 2005 and constructed a spring fed pond while grading the property to allow views of the river rapids and to establish privacy .The land and adjacent property were part of a 1900s farm.We have restored some of the fields while still protecting the forest setting. The sandy soil has been an excellent for the horses hooves, providing well-drained footing ..
Why the Owner Chose Cranberry Lake: This property provided an excellent opportunity to have immediate access to hunting and fishing Adirondack land.It was evident the adjacent lands would be open to public access in the future .The Park provides many opportunities for those who enjoy the flora and fauna. It offerred excellent exposure to the Scenic river.
The Unique Benefits at this Cabin: The peace and serenity of this location with the sound of the river in a private forested setting provides opportunities to enjoy the Adirondack Park. Time will make the Park more special by day.
