When you arrive just throw your bags down and head out to the large spacious property filled with large Oak trees, Magnolia trees and fruit tress to snack from. There is also a barbeque pit, fire ring, a swing, chairs and a picnic table. So, pull up a chair, grab your book and take in the serenity of it all, or grab your binoculars and do a little bird watching while sipping on a hot cup of coffee.

Of course you could just head right out to waterfront and drop your line right off the new lighted pier. Don’t forget to set out your yo-yo’s or launch your boat at the launch on the property. After you return with your catch of the day, dress your fish at the fish cleaning station next to the launch.

For the golfer, we are located just minutes from the world class Cypress Bend Marina and Golf Resort. For the kids there is a flatscreen TV with satellite in the living room and an additional TV/DVD player in the 4th bedroom. In the fall and winter warm those chilly nights and cold feet by the fireplace in the center of the living room.

Hodges Gardens, for those with a liking to flowers and beautiful landscape is also minutes away. To the North, drive to Zwolle and attend the famous Tamales’ Festival in the fall. If you want to get away from for a few days, this is the place!

Guest: Brian (Pineville, LA)
Date of Stay: 10/15/10 Review Submitted: 10/19/10

Just returned from our stay at Da Camp. Me, my wife and our 12 and 9 year old sons had a great time. We had some TV problems, but that was our fault by hitting the wrong button on the remote. The camp is in a very quiet, peaceful setting. The only problem we had with the "quiet" was the neighbor three camps down decided to "chainsaw" all the stumps out of the lake in front of his camp. He chainsawed all afternoon on Saturday. My wife wanted to do him bodily harm, but thankfully she refrained. Again, the chainsawing was a problem not caused by Da Camp. The fishing right in front of Da Camp is great. We caught bass, white perch and catfish without having to venture into the main part of the lake. The yard seems like its endless with many places to sit and relax, and my kids played football with plenty of room to spare. Hopefully, we will rebook Da Camp this spring. I highly recommend it.

Great for the whole family!

Guest: Hollie (Lake Charles, LA)
Date of Stay: 02/11/11 Review Submitted: 01/17/12

My family and I enjoyed a weekend stay here. I wish that it was a week instead because we didn't want to leave. There are so many fun things to do and something for all ages. We enjoyed breakfast every morning around a large table that accommodated out large group. There is a great view of the lake from the dining area as well. We all enjoying fishing from the roomy pier. The kids really enjoyed taking a nature walk around the property and in the neighborhood. The beds were very comfy and there were plenty of them to choose from. I always bring my pillow from home to insure I have a nice comfy one, however, this was not needed here. We were able to enjoy a great movie via cable tv. Though we did not get to play, any we did notice that there were a few games provided for out enjoyment. I also like the swing overlooking the lake as well as the screened in back porch. Both nice places to read a book or for the kids to play. We paid an extra fee for our dog and it was so worth not leaving her at home. There were plenty of places to put her crate and lots of room on the property to walk her. I highly recommend this cabin for groups or families with kids of all ages or family reunions.

A wonderful condo

Guest: Phil (Boulder)
Date of Stay: 09/02/11 Review Submitted: 09/07/11

We rented this condo over Labor Day weekend. This condo is conveniently located, just a short walk to downtown, and to 2 playgrounds. It is well furnished, and tastefully decorated. The kitchen is well equipped, and they have a gas grill on the porch. Reasonably priced. The owners seem very nice and were quick to respond to all of our inquieries. Perfect for our family with two young girls and grandma. We would definitely rent again!

Great Property

Guest: Michelle (Houston, Texas)
Date of Stay: 05/30/11 Review Submitted: 06/11/11

The property was very clean. Unfortunately the water was very low and we were not able to use the boat ramp. House was very roomy. It is in need of some updating in the kitchen especially. I especially liked having the washer/dryer. We took 3 kids so it was very helpful. Was not prepared for the long dusty road to get to the property. We will book this property again and I would definitely recommend it. I am rating 4 stars because I think the kitchen appliances (stove & dishwasher) along with the the dish supply need improvement.

HAD A GREAT TIME AS USUAL, NEW TELEVISION IN HOME WHICH WAS NICE. THE GROUNDS AND HOME WERE NEAT AND CLEAN AS USUAL. THIS IS OUR 2ND STAY AND WON'T BE OUR LAST. WATER LEVEL WAS REAL LOW BUT THE LEVEL WAS LOW EVERYWHERE. HOPE TO USE NEW BOAT RAMP NEXT YEAR WHEN WINTER RAINS COME AND WE CAN ALSO HAVE A CHANCE TO FISH OFF PIER AGAIN.

Beautiful & Peaceful

Date of Stay: 04/01/11 Review Submitted: 04/04/11

I just spent this past weekend here with my girlfriend and we had the best weekend! Da Camp was very spacious and had everything we needed. There was a swing that overlooked the lake and a pier that you could fish from. It's a perfect getaway place! We are actually planning another trip here for my friends birthday. I would recommend Da Camp to anyone looking for a quiet getaway or a group looking to celebrate!

What a dump 2011

Guest: Dud (Idaho)
Date of Stay: 02/11/11 Review Submitted: 03/24/11

This place is worn out, used up. Kitchen, esp. oven was dirty. Furniture worn out, carpets worn out, stained.Mattresses were REALLY worn out as well as linens and towels. Kitchen was full of worn out mismatched plates-a total of 7 mismatched coffee cups, glasses about the same.Do yourself a favor and look elsewhere.

Owner response:In response to the above review, Da Camp is used as a Toledo Bend fishing camp. It is continually cleaned and is always in the process of being updated. We continually add amenities and make improvements to better serve our guests. Linens and towels are all relatively new. Coffee mugs and glasses, although many are mismatched, resemble the relaxed atmosphere that we are so proud of. Mattresses are the best Sam's Club offers and have always exceeded past guest's expectations. Rest assured that all above concerns will be investigated and addressed if necessary. Please take this comment in context with all previous comments.

The only reason I didn't it 5 stars is the boat launch needs some work. Plent of room and the outdoor kitchen is a big party room we spent all of our evening there. Went we weren't fishing on the great deck. just need small hooks, floats and some shiner. My wife is a clean freak and she was very happy with everything.

Peacefull Vacation

Guest: Granny (United States)
Date of Stay: 07/15/10 Review Submitted: 08/02/10

My stay at this location was very relaxing, peaceful and quiet. We felt like we were all by our selves on a deserted island. It was very spacious, we were not crammed like at a hotel or in a camper. We all had areas we could go to be by ourselves if we wanted to read a book, talk, meditate, think or take a nap. This is a great place to go to get away from the noise, traffic, people, etc. I would recommend this place to anyone who wants a peaceful vacation. Thanks.
