Our much loved family cottage is over 100 years old and although it has been updated it retains its charm and character. There are both a gracious front porch and a large screened, rear porch. It is from the screened porch and from the house that one has breath taking views of Portland, Portland Harbor, other islands and on a clear day Mt. Washington.
The cottage faces west so the view each evening is of the sunset, sometimes turning the land and water to rose sometimes to gold.
We have a large eat in kitchen a dining room and a living room, with lots of book shelves filled with choices to meet everyone's interest. There is a full bath on the first floor. Up-stairs are three bedrooms and a full bath.
Our cottage is a ten minute walk from the ferry and the island shops and library. It is a few houses from the school yard, which has a playground and basketball court. It is also only a short walk, or bike ride, to the island clubhouse for children's camp, tennis or sailing.
