  booked the property in Jay Peak through VRBO. Owner sent me very legit looking form and asked to do wire transfer saying that he is just relocated to UK. There was real address and real account number at Barklay. I was a bit hesitant to do it but stupid me!!! still did the transfer. Today I received email from VRBO saying that owner's email was compromised and hthat I need to contact them ASAP. I sent email- no answer. I call my bank alarmed them.I rented private home several times and in different countries and this is a first time I got scammed. Any advise wom I need to contact and if there is any chance to get money back. Please help. Thank you. Still very very angry..

  Owner response: We very deeply regret that such a terrible scam occurred. As owners of this rental property for 5 years now this is the only occurrence. We are extremely diligent about our communications with our potential clients. Our property manager has strong policies regarding collecting money only through Paypal, credit cards and checks. Immediately upon learning of this situation we worked closely with HomeAway/VRBO to update all aspects of security for our listings and have linked the accounts to a new dedicated email account. HomeAway/VRBO immediately took action on their part to communicate to all recent inquirers that there was suspicious activity. We encourage our clients to call our property manager directly (he is listed in contacts). The best policy is to always know who you are dealing with. Our more sincere apologies.

  Loved staying in Frosty's. Great layout for large groups. Living room is cozy and fireplace works great. Hottub maintains temperature even in the coldest VT weekend I've experience in years ---- Jay shut down b/c of wind and cold that weekend --- so we soaked outside! The house is top notch -- linens, comfy beds, etc. I would return without hesitation and hope to do so! The pictures here are accurate and renting this house was a hassle-free and wonderful experience.

  This is the best rental we have ever had!!!! The house was beautiful and spacious with all the amenities. The nighborhood was peaceful and the ideal setting for a Vermont getaway! Great owners and property managers!! We will be back again!!!! We didn't want to leave! Thanks again for a wonderful vacation!
