Privacy, relaxation and beauty! Nestled in the famous Swan Valley with its soaring peaks, abundance of wildlife, and lakes galore, these two neighboring cabins are truly the Montana vision. Directly on the bank of Piper Creek, these cozy cabins are surrounded by national forest and Plum Creek land.
Creature comforts – you don’t have to rough it to get away. Enjoy all the comforts of home, including a complete kitchen, comfy beds, books, games and movies. We even provide a few toiletries if you forget yours, as well as some basic food items.
Fishing is plentiful! Drop your line right off the deck, or make the short jaunt to the Swan River just 1/4 mile away. If it’s lake fishing you want, a multitude of lakes are within a easy 20-30 minute drive from the cabin.
Wildlife viewing – deer and turkey frequent the property. See them right out your window, or as you relax outside. In the area are also elk, bear, cougar, moose, wolves, eagles and more.
Hiking – dozens of well marked trails are easy day trips, and range from easy to difficult. You can even start your exploration right outside the cabin door.
Glacier National Park – easily seen in a day, but you might want to make it two. Renowned for its spectacular beauty, plentiful hikes, and pristine lakes, you’ll want to make this part of your trip.
Boating – motor across a number of lakes large or small, or choose a canoe for a more pristine experience. Rafting opportunities are up and down the Swan River. The opening of the dam creates class 4 rapids in Bigfork every Memorial Day weekend.
Swimming – lots of lakes offer great swimming opportunities. Don’t miss nearby Holland Lake’s fantastic rope swing. It is ride on the easy hike to beautiful Holland Falls.
Golf – within a 30 minute drive is the Double Arrow Lodge in Seeley Lake, or Eagle Bend Golf Club in Bigfork.
Hunting - The valley is unrivaled for hunting opportunities with Big Game species such as Elk, Deer, Moose, Bighorn Sheep, Moutain Goat, and Black Bear.
Winter sports - snowmobiling, cross country skiing, snow shoesing, even dog sledding! The winter months in Swan Valley offer some of the finest snow available in the country for all of your winter outdoor activities.

THE OVERLOOK CABIN:
This cabin has a log queen bed in the master bedroom. The open loft has one queen, one twin and a double futon. Divided from the sleeping area in the loft, is an entertainment area with seating, satellite TV, VCR, DVD, games and books. The living room has a sofa and loveseat, and a second TV. The gas stove with its glass door completes the welcoming atmosphere.
The dining area joins the living room and the modern full kitchen. This open floor plan, and the vaulted ceilings make for a great gathering place. The bedroom and bathroom have hand painted wildlife borders. From the antlered chandelier to the rod and reel décor, you’ll truly get a feel of the Montana life.
The large wrapping deck overlooks the creek. Stairs lead directly to the water’s edge, or take the meandering path to the bridge. The sounds of the water will have you relaxed, and wanting to stay forever!

THE TRAPPERS CABIN:
At The Trapper's Place, you will find that comfort prevails! With its eclectic lodge style and antique touches and Persian rugs thrown in for pleasure, you will have all the comforts of home and more!
This is a spacious log cabin that offers you a tastefully appointed rustic atmosphere in a spectacular wilderness setting. With comfortable accommodations for up to eight guests, there is a spacious enclosed loft bedroom with two double beds and two twin beds along with a large main floor master bedroom that has a queen bed. A fully equipped modern kitchen and large great room with TV, DVD/VCR, Satellite and gas fireplace will add to your comfort. Also for your convenience are a bathroom with a shower, and an extra sitting room with washer and dryer. To inspire your relaxing, a quaint loft overlooking the great room is complete with antique rocking chairs, Persian rug, log table, games and books.
Outside, you will enjoy rocking on the large covered deck while the tranquil sounds of the creek ease you. There is plenty of space for play in the large grass area with a fire ring for warmth and storytelling here at the Trapper’s Place cabin in the beautiful Swan Valley of Montana!

Thankyou so much for the use of The Overlook Cabin. It far exceeded our expectations inside and out. Very cozy, relaxing and comfortable. S did alot of fishing early in the mornings while I slept in and had coffee. We hiked out of the "Seeley Swan Day Hikes" book almost every morning. Holland Falls , Morrell Falls short but very beautiful!

The cutest memory I have is seeing a little round black furry behind going over the guard rail, when we saw a small black bear cub scurrying down the street. We've hiked and driven around the Piper Creek area, Salmon Praire, Bond Creek and the Swan Lake National Wildlife Refuge and my heart is so full. The accomodations were exceptional and we will highly recommend these cabins to others.
