  I am a frequent vacationer to the DR and I have stayed in several gated communities in the past but I must say by far this was my most peaceful and relaxing trip. Anyone that has experienced life in the DR knows that there is constant noise day and night in the inner city (motorcycles, taxis and people always on the go). The choice of staying in a resort is costly and dosen't give you the feel of the "DR experience" and staying in some gated communities can feel like being in the downtown area...too busy and noisy. Staying at Steves' villa was what I needed to experience in a gated community. It is a mile or two down from the very busy area of Sosua. As I drove away from downtown Sosua and Caberrte to the villa, I could feel the peace and tranquility of Lomas Mirones. It is located accross from the prestine Seahorse Ranch. I had no problem entering or exiting the property like I do with other gated comunities. There is no foot traffic or cars constantly going in and out. The surronding properties appeared to be occupied by property owners. Before my trip, Steve provided me with good information about the local restaurants, things to do, etc.. The price was too good to be true but I was very impressed with the quality of this villa. Anyone who has stayed in a villla or hotel room understands that maintenence issues are unaviodable. Maintenence responded both times within an hour to service the wi-fi internet and air conditioner. Both just needed to be reset... I would recommend staying at this villa if you want absolute peace and relaxtion

  We stayed at Steve's lovely villa for 7 weeks, and everything was perfect. He was very helpful, and the property management company was great too. The villa is well-equiped and nicely decorated with all the modern amenities. It had a great TV package, including channels like HBO, and a DVD movie collection. The backyard is a nice size, and has a very clean pool. The weather was great there, and was never too hot with the breezes from the ocean. We didn't need the air conditioning at all. You will be happy if you rent this villa, and the only suggestion I would make is to rent a vehicle because it is a few kilometres down the highway from the town of Sosua. Or you can take public transit like we did, but be prepared to ride in a van with about 24 people, and possibly a chicken or two!

  Recommended for: Pet owners, age 55+, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, sightseeing, families with teenagers, people with disabilities.

  Best trip to the DR ever!!! This was my third trip to the DR and of all the places I've stayed including ocean front this was my favorite. Very nice accommodations in upscale neighborhood, clean, quiet and very friendly. Centrally located close to everything Sosua, Caberete, Beach, and Golds Gym. Security was excellent very safe and secure which is very important in the DR!!! Would definitely recommend this Villa for a quick getaway or long term stay.

  I had a great stay here. It was safe, clean and in an excellent location- close to beaches, good restaurants and tennis courts. I did a lot of research and the price of this place was unbeatable. For cheaper than a hotel you get a beautiful place with comfy bed, full kitchen, TV, etc. The owner lives nearby, so if you need anything he's there to help. I need to use the internet and the WIFI was fast and without problems. We had a little rain when I was there but other than that it was perfect. I have been to the D.R. several times and will stay at this place again! Thank you!

  Recommended for: Girls getaway, pet owners, age 55+, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, sightseeing, families with young children, families with teenagers.
