I stayed at The Walled Orchard with my wife, young son (21 months at the time of our visit), and parents for a week in September 2012, and the experience was terrific. The house is large, modern, attractive, and extremely comfortable. The furniture, appliances, and fixtures are all immaculate and fastidiously maintained, and the exterior (yard/garden, patio, etc.) are equally well kept. The outside space was particularly appealing for my son, who was able to run around and play in the yard with his grandpa. The location of the property is also appealing; we were able to walk into Leixlip, hop in the car for an extremely short drive to Lucan, and stroll a couple minutes down the street to a very handy bus stop. During our visit we also made a few trips to Dublin Airport, and that took only about 30 minutes. Martin, the owner of the property, is remarkably helpful and friendly. He was a wonderful resource during our visit and he was quick to respond to our questions, from requests for restaurant and attraction recommendations to navigation and logistics queries. His input really enhanced our visit. My son got married in Ireland and I needed a big house to have the whole family under one roof (10 people). The house is absolutely beautiful and the owner Martin was extremely helpful and nice. The house is in close proximity to the bus stop so you can easily jump on the bus to get into Duplin, which I recommend taking the bus so you dont have to find parking in downtown Duplin.
