My family and I spent an extended weekend at this house. The house was great! My wife loved the kitchen. The beds were extremely comfortable. Easy walk to Mass street to visit downtown Lawrence which is fun. Would stay here again.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

This house was great for four adults. It's in a quiet neighborhood, well positioned between campus and main streets (so you can get to and from the house easily, if you're still learning your way around town). Much more room - and more convenient - than a hotel, with a kitchen and laundry. We'll definitely be back when we're next in Lawrence!Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children.

I visited Lawrence for 5 nights in late November to visit family and friends. In the past I'd always stayed at the Eldridge but they were booked so I took a chance with VRBO and found Lena's Cottage. I will never stay anywhere else on future visits if I can can help it! The accommodation is simply amazing...comfortable beds with lovely linens, top of the line kitchen and bath remodel and 5 star attention to detail by the owners. This house has it all including easy to access parking for two cars off the alley at the back. The only thing to be aware of is that the bathroom is downstairs off the kitchen and the two bedrooms are upstairs. There also isn't a lot of storage in the bathroom which could be tricky if there are multiple people sharing, but really these are tiny issues.Recommended for: Sightseeing, age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, girls getaway.

We stayed for 2 nights/3 days in this lovely house and don't have a thing negative to say. And while a couple in love doesn't need much more than each other, the house would've filled the needs of anyone. We only ventured outside its doors twice and that was just to find sustenance. Luckily, it's located close to both eateries and markets so our emergence from bliss did not last unduly long. I'd recommend the house to anyone, and if you're not already in love, perhaps the energy left behind by us will bring you that much closer. Also, it should be noted that the beds, countertops, and couches are all comfortable and well-built.Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, tourists without a car, age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.

I reserved this little house as a place to host a bridal shower/ bachelorette party. Everything was just as the listing stated. It was a wonderful place to stay. Everyone kept remarking on how cute the house was. The owner was very friendly, everything was clean and tidy. We had a great stay! I would recommend the place to others. We stayed the weekend before classes started at KU. There were parties on either side of the house, but it wasn't an issue as far as noise, just a few beer cans in the yard in the morning. It might be a consideration if you are planning to stay on a game weekend.Recommended for: Romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.

This place was super nice. A very homey little bungalo with everything you need to stay a few nights or a few weeks. This place has lots of little touches that make it feel loved. Everything in nice condition, clearly the owner has had a lot of work done on the place (or, I bet, has done it himself). Appliances are nice and in good working order; owner provides little soaps and such like a hotel would. When we had a couple of issues, the owner came right over same day to get it taken care of. If you're coming for the game, this place could not be more convenient -- the end of the block is literally the entrance to the stadium. If you're coming to KU for something else, like a conference or a summer class, then it is also a conveniently short hike (though all up-hill to get there). Downtown Lawrence (which is lovely!) is also a convenient walk, just a few blocks away. We brought our bikes and took an easy bike ride from the house to downtown almost every day (easy to store your bikes on the enclosed back porch.Recommended for: Sightseeing, tourists without a car, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, girls getaway.

My old college roommate and I went back to "Larry" to golf and party like we did in the 90's. This house was clean and updated. The owner couldn't be nicer. I think it is a great option for parents or old grads to come back to create a new memory like getting kicked out of the Sandbar at 40 years old.Recommended for: Sightseeing, tourists without a car, girls getaway.

My family and I rented this house over a long weekend in the summer and it was perfect! It was clean and had all the necessary amenities- comfortable beds, nice bathroom and well equipped kitchen. The owner was responsive to any questions we had. The location was also great, right near the stadium and within walking distance to both the campus and Mass St. I would definitely return and recommend to friends!Recommended for: Tourists without a car, families with young children, girls getaway.

We stayed at this house for a week with our two small children. It was wonderful to have space to spread out just like at home. The updated kitchen was great for cooking and the house had all of the essentials. We were close to everything and spent plenty of time wandering around the city and campus. It's the perfect location for a night out on the town, or a trip to the farmers market or city pool. We would definitely stay here again!Recommended for: Sightseeing, age 55+, families with teenagers, pet owners, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.

A great home in the heart of KU life. Located less than a block from Commencement at Memorial Stadium, walking distance to campus, and only a block from a great liquor store, made this property perfect for our needs. The owner was outstanding to work with and the after graduation party was a success. In addition, the house has been remodeled to 5 Star status. From the granite counter tops to the wonderfully modern bathroom...this house was a perfect alternative to the Eldridge or the Oread.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0
