Serenity on Sugar is a beautifully decorated and well-maintained home on Sugar Mountain. This is not your typical rental home and offers exceptional furnishings, linens and accessories. Level entry gives easy access to the house with hand rail assistance during inclement weather. The master bedroom, bath, and living areas are on the main level with an open floor plan, which makes this an excellent home for entertaining. My home has a comfortable, relaxed atmosphere and there is ample space so multiple families can spread out and not feel cramped.
The guest rooms are located downstairs and each have their own private bathroom. A sun room for the warmer months offers additional tv and office space which is excellent for reading and relaxing in a cozy chaise lounge. Laundry facilities are located on the downstairs level. Two tiers of deck totaling 1000 feet for entertaining inside and out.
Located less than a mile from the ski slopes, golf and tennis, my home is easily accessible at all times. In the winter months there is a ski bus that runs non-stop from the house to the slopes to avoid parking and lines. Grocery stores are approximately a half mile, Grandfather Mountain, Gem Mining, Trout fishing, Tweetsie Railroad and many other activities.

Serenity on Sugar was a delightful place for us to spend our Christmas vacation surrounded by family and beautiful snow...lots and lots of it...we were lucky! This was our 2nd annual stay at Serenity since our 1st visit was amazing and left us wanting more. Our first visit in Dec, 2011 was a 7 night stay and this year was increased to 11 nights. The house was clean, warm, and inviting on both of our visits. Our dogs always travel with us and the fenced yard allowed for them to romp in the snow, safe and secure. We felt at home with the beautiful Christmas tree we purchased nearby, decorated with the beautiful ornaments which were generously shared with us by the homeowner. Skiing was fantastic, a little crowded this time of year but still fun. The fireplace made the chill outside melt away:) Christmas and our vacation were PERFECT!Recommended for: Families with teenagers, pet owners, families with young children, sightseeing.

As we enter week 2 of our 3 week stay, we wanted to say how perfect this is. First, location - this is where you what to be. Not only is it convenient to basic necessities, but you can get to Boone, Blowing Rock, Banner Elk, etc, easily. Its very centrally located and does not take 20 minutes just to get off the mountain. Second - the house itself - Roomy, well-appointed, comfortable. The kitchen has all the appliances/pot/pans/dishes you'll need. Plenty of towels, etc. Cable and internet work great, which was critical since we were working remotely part of the time and needed good internet access. I can't think of any reason not to stay here.Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, pet owners, families with young children, girls getaway, sightseeing.

About the owner: I moved here from FL and have lived in these beautiful mountains for 10 years. I own and operate Serenity Day Spa which is about 3 minutes from the house.
Why the Owner Chose Sugar Mountain:
This area is very relaxing and healing yet offers so much diversity. You feel tucked away in these beautiful mountains yet not isolated from civilization. There's so much to do and great restaurants all close by. Most people visit once or twice, by the third visit you'll want to live here too.
