We have been going to the Texas coast to celebrate our anniversary for the last 10 years or so (when we can get away for it). We have always enjoyed Port Aransas, but the last two times it had gotten more commercialized and busy, so we decided to try a less busy place. We found it. If you aren't a fisherman or birdwatcher, there isn't a lot to do in Matagorda - in other words, perfect! We thoroughly enjoyed out stay - Thursday and Friday, we had the beach to ourselves, and the other houses on the street were empty. Friday night, the other houses started filling up, and Saturday there were people on the beach, but nothing like you'd see in Port Aransas or South Padre. Even then, all we had to do was go back to the house and sit on the deck, watch the waves and hear the roar of the surf - aahhhhh. The house is clean and well maintained, and had all the amenities we needed to cook with. A totally enjoyable stay - thank you!

Thanks Rick, We really enjoyed the house and the beach! My friend and I didn't want to leave, but we now know where to go when we come back. The town is laid back, the beach was basically empty. Dax, Remington, and Rocket really enjoyed the beach too! They are part of our family and since you're pet friendly we didn't have to leave part of our family at home. Thanks again Rick...

Rick: We had a great time at Matagorda, the beach house fit our need very nicely. This was the first time we made a trip without having excretions lined up to keep us too busy. It was time to be layed back and enjoy the world around us. Leona did a great job checking for our needs. The fishing guide you recommended made my fishing a real treat. We enjoyed the ocean and our dog really had a great time. The people in Matagorda are the most friendly and cordial we have ever met. Thanks for the return of the deposit. Phil Anderson

Rick, Richard and I plus the our two Chesapeake's had a memorable time at Matagorda Beach this week. Your beach house was just what we needed. We found a welcoming, clean, home away from our home. The view was spectacular and the mattress was perfect. We enjoyed Spoonbills for dinner and breakfast on the screen porch. We hope to make this a tradition. Rick, As I said in our email, being originally from Bay City, I was very impressed with your Beach House. Me and my high school friends had stayed at other houses and none were equipped with the emenities that your house had. You also have your own private walk across the dunes to the beach. I was there just 2 years ago and now they have made that part a private beach where no one can drive on it. It was like we owned the beach. There was no one on it even on the weekend. Wonderful time. Screened-in porch was great. Wonderful view of the beach and the gulf without even leaving the house! Quiet beach was a great change from the chaos of other Texas beach towns. Can't wait to come back again! Thank you.

Thank you so much for allowing us to use your wonderful home!!!! We had a great time! We celebrated our daughters 7th birthday there and she had a wonderful time. She almost didn't want to come home! Rick & Dianne Thanks for the use of the beach house and location. The house was well cleaned and ample supplies of cooking equipment. We felt compelled to wash linens before we left just because of the pleasant surprise the clean warmth the place offered open entering the house. Table Shrimp purchased from a nearby Bait House provided a very good meal as well as some fish caught of the Matagorda pier to the jetties. We enjoyed the peaceful relaxation offered by the sound of the gulls overhead while watching the ocean. The scenery of the water was very pleasing and the breeze was enjoyable sitting on the open deck watching the quarter moon and stars. A few early morning and late night strolls on the moon lit beach were just the prescription we needed from todays rushed life. Thanks again and have a terrific and blessed week.

My gosh I had so much fun last week!!! I really did not want to come back. I was ready to buy a yellow muumuu and send a post card to my kids with my new beach address. The house was great and I appreciate you letting us stay. I ALMOST fell in love there, but thankfully I quit drinking wine coolers and quickly came to my senses. Thanks again for everything! Trish

Wow Rick! Your beach house was absolutely fabulous. My daughter and I had a wonderful time. The house was so stocked with cooking utensils, movies, books, and games. There was more than enough to keep us busy and the surroundings made for a nice quiet vacation. The weather wasn't bad, we were able to walk on the beach and gathered quite a bit of shells to bring home. The fresh shrimp we bought made for a fantastic meal, especially with a fully equipped kitchen. There was nothing extra we had to buy to cook the meals we ate. We appreciate your hospitality so much, we fully intend to go back, Spring break or any time during the year. Thank you so much for a great time!

Rick, Just wanted to let you know we headed out of Matagorda back to San Antonio yesterday afternoon, had a great time. Your rental house is really nice and its a perfect location. My wife, baby and mother in law all relaxed, enjoyed your video collection and I caught a couple of nice redfish out in the surf.....I think I could do that every day. It was just what we needed, we are already thinking about going back next year for the Thanksgiving break or maybe during the summer or both. Thanks again!
