We went to Boston for a surgery. We had 4 adults and stayed for 2 weeks and this place was great! Chris was super easy to work with and always super fast with his response time. It was so much more comfortable and affordable than getting a hotel. Loved being able to cook our own meals instead of having to eat out for every meal! There were a couple of minor things that could be improved, but none of them were deal breakers. The front door is quite drafty. Chris provided a space heater and this helped a lot, but the living room area was still quite a bit more chilly than the bedrooms. The other thing that was slightly annoying, but again, not a huge deal was that there were no hand towels in the bathroom or kitchen towels around. This made it difficult to get things out of the oven, because there also were no oven mitts. But we made it all work. I highly recommend staying here, just be prepared for the drafty front door. Also, I think I saw somebody else suggest that some folding chairs would be helpful and I would agree with that. My mom, who is not very tall, had a hard time sitting at the table and the seating arrangement didn't fit her very well. So a couple of folding chairs might be more comfortable for those shorter people. But overall this is a very homey, comfortable place to stay. The beds were very comfortable. Loved the water pressure in the shower! Also really liked how easy it was to get to the silver line and public transportation. Walgreens (just 2 blocks away) was a life saver for all of those little things that we forgot to pack and for those late night snacks.Recommended for: Sightseeing, tourists without a car, people with disabilities, girls getaway, families with young children, romantic getaway, families with teenagers.

Had an extended stay in Boston for a conference and collaboration at Northeastern. The condo is in a great neighbourhood with adorable tapas joints within a stone's throw. Wifi worked great which was critical for work, beds were comfy, easy access to public transportation, cabs, and other areas of the city. Christopher has the place adorably appointed, and is incredibly nice and easy to work with, especially as we were paying through our university department the UK. Christopher was concerned with our comfort during the stay, which I can say was top notch. Would definitely stay again for business or pleasure, and will recommend friends.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

My husband, two kids, and I spent four nights in this apartment over the Thanksgiving holiday. We were in town to visit family who live in J.P. but were looking to have our own space. We could not have asked for a better experience! Chris was very accessible, friendly, and helpful during the booking process (this was not true of several other apartment owners we contacted prior to finding Chris!) and afterwards, as well. Check-in was flawless. The apartment is the perfect size for a family of four - two large bedrooms with a decent living/dining/kitchen area. Incredibly, our three-year-old sometimes-napper took a nap every day we were there. (That's probably the highest compliment one can give a place!) The apartment was clean and well-stocked with amenities. Though we were there when it was rather chilly, the heating worked great and there was an additional space heater that warmed up the draftier area by the front door. Parking spaces are limited (obviously) but we managed just fine. The walk to the T was short, though we were grateful we brought our stroller. (A perk to being on the first floor -- easy to haul the stroller in and out.) This was our first experience renting an apartment while vacationing and I don't think we will do it any other way again. Thank you, Chris!Recommended for: Sightseeing, tourists without a car, girls getaway, families with young children, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with teenagers.

This property is right in the middle of everything and contains some great local restaurants, bars, parks, and shops. Go to Flour and get a sticky a bun, it's worth the price of your vrbo admission. The house is perfect for couples or families, but on your arrival be sure your cabbie knows it's in the 400 block. Our guy kept "missing it" on one-way streets, but such is the MO of every Masshole cab driver. You can easily find bus stops or even rows of bike rentals nearby. The walk to the subway takes about 15 minutes, but it only takes 2 or 3 quick stops to get into the heart of Boston. Also, for those first time vacation renters out there: this price for this space and location is tough to beat. The property is just as well-kept in person as it is in the pictures, if not better. Chris is a great owner and is totally focused on creating the best, most comfortable experience during your stay.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 2/2

Chris, the owner of this property was responsive and prompt in responding to my queries. The property and the area of Boston where it is located was charming. It is on the ground floor of an apartment building and is an old shop. It was very clean and private, it had 2 comfortable Queen size beds with good quality linen and a reasonable sized bathroom. The kitchen was very well equipped with heaps of nice china and glassware. It was a 15 minute walk from Back Bay Station with trolley bags where Amtrak stops from New York. The Mexican restaurant three doors up was excellent and the Martgueritas were very good value. There is a very large supermarket in the Copley Centre near Back Bay station where you can buy ready made and fresh food. We rented 3 apartments on our trip to North America on this trip and this property was exceptional, we highly recommended it.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 2/2

Owner response: Thanks so much for the nice review of my condo Jean! I am glad you all had a nice vacation and that my home made you feel very comfortable. It was also nice to meet you and your family, as I don't usually get to meet my visitors! I hope to see you all again in future travels.

This was our first time ever to Boston and our first time ever renting an apartment/condo instead of staying in a hotel. We were referred to Christopher's place by friends that had previously stayed there a couple years ago, so we decided to give it a shot. We are SO GLAD WE DID! Christopher was so helpful from the minute we first contacted him up until our departure. I don't ever recall getting that kind of friendly, genuine service from any hotel, and we have stayed at some of the best around the world. The neighborhood is very cute and quaint with many cafes, shops and restaurants all within a short walking distance. We enjoyed walking everywhere and also utilized the public transportation that was also very close to the condo. We were able to see all that Boston had to offer very conveniently and were delighted each day to come back to our 'home away from home'! The condo is very cute, cozy, and beautifully decorated, as a lot of previous reviews have mentioned, but most importantly to us, it was extremely clean! We were provided with everything we could have wanted for our short 4 night stay. I will highly recommend this condo to anyone interested in visiting Boston, and we can't wait to return! Thanks again Christopher!Recommended for: Sightseeing, tourists without a car, families with young children, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with teenagers.

Owner was flexible with my last minute booking and was always available for quick questions or help. We really appreciated that as well as his laid back approach. While the neighborhood has several eclectic offerings, it's in transition. In true city form, a few blocks can make all the difference. Loved the local artist retail store across the street, especially "Toby" their dog. As for the apartment, it's cute on the surface. It's apparantly a former storefront on the ground floor. Cozy and homey. The owner has a stack of takeout menus, maps, and a guest book which were fun to thumb through. After a day or so, however, you start to notice the details. No cable TV , uneven flooring (understandable, due to historic age of unit but still), the crazy draft from the incorrectly hung front door, missing light switches, unsecured bathroom fixtures, and limited hot water in the evenings, just to name a few. I wouldn't change the stay and love the alternative to hotels. But, think a balanced review is in order. It's possible the place just needs some quick TLC after seeing so many visitors.Recommended for: Tourists without a car, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, families with teenagers.
Owner response: Thank you for your review and insights! I have been in the condo for the past week after your departure and did indeed give my beautiful home a little TLC! In addition to addressing the aforementioned minor issues, I have also upgraded both bedrooms with new Crate and Barrel bedroom sets, and added some special touches, such as new leather barstools, linens, and kitchenware. I am confident that future guests will continue to find it a fantastic place to stay and deserving of the 5 star ratings it is used to getting!

My family and I enjoyed our stay in Boston. My daughter had eye surgery at Boston Medical Center and the condo was close enough to easily get back and forth to appointments. The condo accomodated 4 adults and a small child without being cramped for room. Chris was available by email and responded very quickly. The condo is in a great neighborhood where we felt very safe. There is a great little shop named Code 10 just down the street that has the best Lemon Chicken soup I have ever tasted. We will definitely stay here again when visiting Boston. Thanks again Chris for the wonderful stay!!!!Recommended for: Sightseeing, tourists without a car, girls getaway, families with young children, romantic getaway, families with teenagers.

We were there two couples traveling together. The location is great. The apartment is really cozy and homey. We will stay there next time we are in Boston :) The only downside to this apartment is the lack of parking places, but Chris (the owner) had already mentioned that to me :)Recommended for: Sightseeing, tourists without a car, girls getaway, families with young children, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with teenagers.
