We had an excellent 4-night stay at this place by Renaissance Properties. It was clean, neat, and had everything we needed: ample towels, toiletries, and all the small appliances you expect to have at home (toaster, hair dryer, iron and board). Henry from Renaissance even left us some orange juice in the fridge! Henry was a great host--he answered all our questions about the area (we were looking for an apartment in Philly during our stay so we had many) and was available throughout our stay for additional assistance. The apartment is very conveniently located in the the ritzy part of town, a few blocks away from the energetic major shopping streets. From there we reached most parts of central Philly and the UPenn area by foot. There were also several great restaurants and grocery stores near by, allowing us to stay close to home when we wanted to. Overall, a great experience!Did you find this review helpful? Awesome! First, only a block to the bus that takes you downtown to all the historical sites. A couple block walk to grocery store and some fantastic restaurants. If you have the opportunity, try the American Brick Eatery for dinner. the best scallops and risotto I have ever had. Renaissance Properties has everything there that you could possibly need. Nice cozy unit, felt right at home. Would definitely stay here again. Oh, I almost forgot. Every afternoon after our sightseeing, we sat on the patio and had a glass of wine and talked of all the wonderful things we had done that day.Did you find this review helpful? I just wanted to join the overwhelming chorus of positive reactions to staying with Renaissance Properties this past week. Considering this was in one of the nicest parts of Philly and that the apartment was so stunningly great, the really affordable price makes it even more of a must for anyone traveling here in the future, The apartment is so spacious and beautifully laid out with a great downstairs living room and kitchen and a delightful bedroom with a super comfy and roomy bed and a perfectly equipped bathroom. To make everything even more perfect, if that is possible, is Henry from Renaissance Properties himself, a totally friendly, available and exceptionally helpful and accommodating host. In short anyone would be crazy not to take advantage of this phenomenal situation; the very best of the best!Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

Renaissance was fantastic! He bailed me and my son and mother out of a sticky situation after being let down by another airbnb host and we were left with no place to stay. Excellent communication from the start. The apartment was great. Spacious, comfy, clean, great kitchen with all kitchen equipment you might need. Location is perfect - 10 mins from a subway and only a few stops from the centre of town. Rittenhouse, is a great area with grocery stores, bars restaurants and boutique shops just minutes away. The Farmers Market is just up the street - again only a few mins away. The area is totally safe and very family orientated and super friendly. I would book here again if I ever came back to the city and I hope one day I will. I would recommend Renaissance 100% Thanks for making our stay in Phily very special. The apartment was perfect and precisely as advertised. It was extremely clean and tidy, and well-organized within a spacious soace. The neighborhood was quiet and very conveniently located for our center city needs. Extremely heavy traffic on I-95 delayed our arrival, but we kept Henry from Renaissance PRoperties abreast of our progress and he was there to meet us and made the hand-off of keys and information quite pleasant and efficient. Likewise he was easy to communicate with via email ahead of our stay. We would absolutely stay there again. [One bit of neighborhood dining advice: we got pizza from a place that begins with an R a couple of blocks away and it was hands-down the worst pizza I have ever had in my life. Seek an alternative. Sorry I can't remember the full name. Obviously a small thing in a very delightful Philadelphia weekend!]Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

My husband and I stayed here for 2.5 months and were very happy. The location is fantastic. Restaurants, bars and shopping are all minutes away. The building facilities are a particular strong point. The gym is well equipped with great views, there is an indoor pool and jacuzzi on the top floor and a lovely large sunbathing deck. We found the apartment, modern, clean, spacious and extremely functional. We would happily stay there again.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

Rusty exposed wires, a bath with no taps, mould on the walls and in the bathroom, peeling paint on the ceiling and doors ,rotting food in the fridge. I looked at this site and the owner said he needed to charge extra . I left as soon as I could . Don't be duped . I was not the only one who has been scammed by this owner. I advise you check this company and all the reviews about it very carefullyDid you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 1/2

Wow! I can't start telling you how wonderful this apartment, this city and this host is. Everything was better than we dared to dream of. The apartment is gorgeous, with real wooden floors, high ceilings, a comfy bed, a lot of lamps, huge windows, a clean and nice kitchen and bathroom, well-lighted, tastefully decorated, just amazing. The location is just perfect too, right in the middle of downtown, on one of the most beautiful streets in the corner, with a gorgeous little Frensh bakery around the corner. We had a heap of fresh towels, bath room supplies, water in the fridge, wifi, art books and everything you need and don't need. Plus, Henry from Renaissance Properties was superfriendly, she waited for us in the apartment until we finally arrived and he always replied immediately to all our questions regarding Phillie and even regarding NYC later. I would really recommend this place to everyone, it's worth twice the amount of money you're paying for one night! Thanks Renaissance for everything!Did you find this review helpful? This condo by Rittenhouse Square a perfect place for us. The unit was very clean and just as described. The kitchen was fully equipped, with new appliances, a convenient washer/dryer in the hall closet. The bathroom was very nicely upgraded..the best shower we've used/ compared to a couple condos in philadelphia, and another in nyc we've stayed at. We didn't have to bring any towels, which was really nice, and there were linens, bedding, soap, shampoo, wifi, and cable. The WiFi in the unit was handy for downloading e-books, and the TVs were nice too. The couch was very pleasant to sit and read, eat, relax, watch birds, etc. We were shown a neighboring unit, by its owner, and tho it was a mirror image, ours was so much nicer, with the updated bath and kitchen, and the higher end furnishings! The apartment was kept very clean The location was great, we liked the south side of Rittenhouse, it was very nice. It was nice having Henry (from Renaissance Properties) give us a call to see how we were doing..was everything going well..any problems..etc. Two years ago, we had minimal cooking facilities in the condo, so we ate out for almost every breakfast, and we tried almost the whole menu at the PARC Bistro.a absolute must...but with the full kitchen, I made breakfast for my bride all but 3 mornings ! We will return!Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

My wife and I stayed at one of Henry's properties for a few weeks. As far as PRO's, Henry was very responsive to the issues we ran into. The property was centrally located. There were a number of problems that were significant. First of all, the place wasn't cleaned properly. My wife had to go and purchase cleaning supplies to re-clean the place. The shower had hair in the drain preventing it from draining. The plumber had to be called to fix that. Then the plumbing broke and the water drained to the unit below. Addtionally, the window was broken and couldn't be closed completely. Though informed Henry never had that fixed. It allowed in the very cold air and noise from the street which made some nights. I literally saw a mouse run across the floor in the unit. The exterminator was called and a large hole allowing the rodents behind the refrigerator was found. We could hear the mice chewing during the evenings. Apparently Philadelphia in general has issues here. The unit was not supplied well at all when we arrived. We had 2 towels, 4 beer mugs and 2 plates and a pan or two. No coffee maker, no glasses, no bottle or wine opener, no more plates, very little silverware and so on. It seemed to be supplied by a bachelor. We let Henry know and we recieved numerous items via post. We appreciate that. At the same time, it was frustrating to have to deal with stocking the place. Addtionally, Henry had place visiting the unit while we were there, and we were told not to tell them we were vacation renters. Just not a professional experience. He has offered a $100 refund after a positive review. The reality was most of the issues were addressed, but all in all the experience was not positive. He is really nice but needs work if he is to succeed in this business.Owner response: Owner was offered alternate accomodations and a partial refund. Supplies and items were bought to accomodate the tenant's every want and desire to smoothen their stay.

We could not have been happier with our stay. The apartment was spotless -- it literally felt like we were the first ones to stay there. The 2 bedrooms are located at opposite ends of the apartment so it was perfect for 2 couples. We enjoyed the neighborhood and the delicious restaurants within walking distance. We highly recommend Rouge and Parc. Renaissance Properties were a pleasure to work with -- they went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed (including a free parking spot!) I will definitely be recommending this apartment to friends.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

I had a very comfortable stay of approx 3 wks - the apt is in a great location in the heart of Rittenhouse Square and is close to bars, restaurants, shopping and cultural activities. The apt itself is clean, spacious, fully stocked and comfortable for any length of stay. Henry was very helpful throughout the process including being flexible with check-in, following up on issues (the wireless internet went down and he was prompt about getting it checked out and fixed) and being responsive to any communication. I would highly recommend the property and look forward to returning at some point in the future.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

My wife and I stayed in the apartment the night before the Philadelphia Marathon this year. It was a great location close to the start/finish with several restaurants nearby. We walked to the convention center and Reading Terminal Market about 25-30 minutes away. That night walked home in the dark and felt comfortable on all of the surrounding streets. The 1BR was everything that we expected. There was plenty of room for the two of us, the kitchen area and fridge was a nice plus. The shower had hot water for both of us. The masterbed was great and we didn't need to bring out own towels or sheets. We did bring a comforter just in case it was cool. Overall the price and location were great for us to spend a night in the city. Anyone looking for a place to crash while enjoying the city should be satisfied with the accommodations. Thanks Renaissance!Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

We stayed here for 8 nights right after Christmas. We had taken the red-eye from San Diego and arrived at the property at 7:00am. The warm lobby smelled WONDERFUL and we were welcomed as weary travellers. The one bedroom suite was great although I had thought it came with a fireplace. Apparently none of the two bedroom suites have fireplaces. Oh well, no big deal. Our room was fantastic; extra large, comfy, & high end. I can't say enough about the location. This hotel is in the IDEAL spot; much better than where the Four Seasons, Marriott, Wyndam, or other high price hotels are. There is a great Italian gourmet market within a short walk, coffee houses, high end resturants and all my favorite shops (Anthropoligie, Athleta, Coach, Lagos, Ann Taylor, H&M, etc etc). Everything was fantastic Especially the housekeeping. The place is spotless but they only have housekeeping every 5 days. They come to pick up trash from the room daily (except Sunday) We will stay here again. It was my husband and I, our two kids and my sister-in-law and there was plenty of room. The sheets were high quality and the water pressure great. High ratings for this hotel. My stay was in late July, 2011, for a conference at the Pennsylvania Convention Center. Henry's apartment suited me perfectly. I enjoyed walking to and from downtown, through Rittenhouse Square and the charming old neighborhoods. Henry was helpful and happy to answer questions and provide tips only a local would know. A nearby bus line takes you right downtown if you get tired of walking. The location is choice! The apartment is clean, cozy and well-appointed (even has an iron and ironing board). I would definitely return for a second visit! Thanks for making my first trip to Philly go off without a hitch.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

Our stay with Renaissance Properties place was just what we needed and wanted. Henry from Renaissance was waiting for us when the cab pulled up. He gave us a tour of the apartment, which included having the fridge stocked with coffee, juice and milk. His apartment was well maintained, clean, inviting and comfy. He provided us with information about the surrounding area, maps of the local bus that literally lets you off on the corner, and tourist information. The place is ideally suited where one can either walk to Ritten House Square for a fabulous meal, walk around the corner for a slice of pizza at Randazzo's or go to Walgreens for any items one needed. We easily walked to catch a city bus to visit the Eastern State Penitentiary. Bus fare is $2 for single or $3 if you will need a transfer. The buses take coins as well as dollar bills, which is great if you can't get the coins. On one of our walks, we came across a great coffee stop, Metropolitan Bakery on 17th Street, one block from Ritten House Square, where they have great organic coffee, pastries and fresh baked bread. If you decide to sit on the outside bench like we did, be prepared to be visited by very cute and persistent sparrows -- who know all too well this is a great location for their allotment of morning pastry crumbs. We dined at Devons which is located on 18th Street on Ritten House Sq. On Sundays, they have 50% off any bottle of wine under $99. They have a great menu for seafood lovers as well as non seafood lovers.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

This was our first time visiting Philadelphia, and our experience couldn't have been better! Henry was an extremely gracious and helpful host, professional yet warm and friendly. He was in regular communication from the time we booked, and provided very clear instructions re: transportation to his place and around the city, providing city maps, bus maps, and even a couple free bus tokens. Michael had lots of literature available about Philadelphia, including guide books and pamphlets on various attractions. He provided personal recommendations to us based on our interests via email. Upon arrival, he provided some drinks in the fridge and made sure to meet us in person and show us around. The place itself was great. Spotless, really comfortable, and in a great location to explore the City Center. We would recommend to anyone and would love to stay again next time we're in Philly.Did you find this review helpful? Was completely delighted with the accommodations and host Henry, he treated me like an old friend. Had schedules of the buses that run by the place (#17 & 40 will take you anywhere you could possibly need to go in Philly!) He asked in advance what things I was interested in and had all sorts of brochures and (website hidden) map directions to the places. There were nice little touches around the apartment, from the little spa quality soaps and shampoos to a little "welcome" monogrammed hand towel and even a cold drink waiting for me in the fridge (which I needed & drank immediately!) It's fully contained, freshly painted, tastefully decorated and the bed was more comfortable than my bed at home! Did I mention the location was excellent? It's on a darling little street, very close to downtown and steps away from the famous South Street. As a female traveling alone (from Canada) I felt very safe in this neighbourhood and have no qualms about recommending it. Thanks Henry!!!Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 1/1

This is a great one bedroom in the heart of Center City. The kitchen is very big, complete with dishwasher and a full stove and microwave. The bathroom is HUGE and even has a tub with jets! The neighborhood is safe and I was very impressed and happy with how quiet it was. In walking distance to everything, esp. quaint local restaurants and coffee shops. Very "Philly" in feeling. A great stay. The furnishing is everything that you need without any clutter! Laundry in the basement is cheap and the machines work very well. I highly recommend this place! Snatch it up!Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 1/1

The accommodation was excellent. I ended up staying minutes away from the lively Rittenhouse Square in a very clean studio. It is very walkable ans safe area. The studio is spacious and was professionally cleaned just as I came in, it is pretty pleasant. I would definitely recommend Renaissance Properties!Did you find this review helpful? I have had to find places to live temporarily for a couple of times now. And without a question, my last time in Philadelphia was the easiest and smoothest one! Thanks much to Henry Friedman and Renaissance Properties who were very helpful and honest with everything. So, if you need a place to stay around that area, I highly recommend you contact them first if you don't want to waste time and effort. They have a wide range of places in great locations around Philly, and most importantly, you can trust on them. I will definitely have to go back to Philly, and when I do, I will look for them again!Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

Henry was a so attentive and organized. He communicated extremely well with me before and during my stay. An example is when he asked if I had any particular interest in Philadelphia, I told him I was interested in seeing fall colors. I thought he might tell me something quickly that he already knew. Instead, he researched it and gave me detailed instructions of how to transit from the apartment to the end point. I got thorough information on transit in the area, as well. There were lots of thoughtful details such as a many types of pillows and blankets, books to read (I read an entire funny mystery), several comfortable places to read, well equipped kitchen, soap and shampoo. I don't think there was a speck of dirt anywhere. Also, the immediate area has charming side streets that reminded me of Elfreth's Alley except without the crowds.Did you find this review helpful? The property location is great for someone seeking access to Center City attractions while dodging the local hotel rates. The main front room is pleasantly large, the bedroom is comfortable, and the bathroom is minimal. Furnishings are spartan and second-hand, but the three piece bedroom set is perfectly nice. It makes for a fine economy stay for someone looking to exchange the niceties of a hotel for the elbow room of a real apartment.Recommended for: Tourists without a car

The apartment had a very nice layout and was located in a great part of town. The bed was quite comfortable (nice and firm). The street the apartment is on is very tiny which makes it perfectly quiet at night, but it is just a short walk to all the great bars and restaurants on 20th st. Henry was easy to get a hold of and had helpful tips about the neighborhood. I had a very comfortable stayDid you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

.The apartment was beautiful and the location is perfect. I was pretty busy during my time in Philly and found this to be a great safe haven to rest and relax. Due to the scorching temperatures during my visit I did not make use of the patio, but it definitely seems like a wonderful place to relax. In my free time I was able to go out and explore a little, and there is much to do within walking distance. One of my biggest concerns was parking while I was in the city, and with the help of Mike (and map that he printed for me) I was able to find free parking within 2-3 blocks each day. If I ever need a place to stay in Philly again, this would be were I would go! .Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

Henry was an awesome host. Very hospitable, always making sure if we needed anything, and very helpful with local suggestions and directions. He even went above and beyond and sketched out a map of the area for us since I forgot my map of Philly. Very personable and friendly. Great location in a beautiful building with a spacious sunny room that can be closed off for privacy. The bed is surprisingly comfortable, and we slept like rocks. Close to the broad street main line and Rittenhouse. Would definitely recommend both the location and Henry as a host. Thanks!Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

The stay at Henry's apartment was beyond wonderful. He was prompt in his replies and assisted me in moving in quickly. Being in Philadelphia alone, his warm and friendly welcome definitely made me feel at home. Henry was very conscientious in welcoming his guest. After enquiring about my interest, he provided me with suggestions of where to go, what to eat in Philadelphia...Henry also provided me with brochures, useful information and Vitamin water to start off my day. The apartment is very cozy, clean and fully furnished with everything that I needed. The location is good. It takes you only a couple of minutes to get to Rittenhouse Square by foot. And a bus near the apartment takes you to downtown really quickly. I did not have any trouble getting access to downtown and the places of interest from the apartment. It is a pity that my stay in Philadelphia was short. I would have enjoyed staying in the apartment for a longer period. I would highly recommend this apartment to visitors who are looking for a place to stay in Philadelphia. I would definitely return for a stay there if I visit Philadelphia again.
