We've been visiting the islands for 15 years - stayed at very nice places - None has been as clean and so well equipped as Hale Pomaika'I. Liz & Mike have gone the extra mile in providing EVERYTHING needed to make their guests feel at home. Thank you so very much for your thoughtfulness. We enjoyed our 4 day stay; definitely will make it a wek next time. Aloha and Mahalo.

Hale Pomaika'I is a clean and convenient house to stay while in Puna. Mike and Liz were gracious hosts and excellent caretakers for a vacation property. Would stay again in a heartbeat.

From the Guest Book: It was so nice to stay in a real home and not a hotel room. The house has everything we need. We ate all our meals outside, rain or shine. Everything was very clean. We saved our pineapple, papaya & watermelon shells for the chickens. We took a day trip every day and it was great to have the cooler. Just loved everything. Mahalo!

Although we spent so much time out and about, coming back to your home was always a joy with its peace and calm. We didn't mind so much getting woken up by the birds as it was nature's alarm clock. Came for vacation before the volleyball tournament. Enjoyed the 2 bedrooms and the kitchen!!!! Used the washing machine for the volleyball uniform and the garage kept us dry when the rains came. The amenities were terrific and we'd like to come back next year. Mahalo nui loa!

We were totally amazed on the price we paid to be able to stay in such a CLEAN, serene, peaceful place. It gave us such a comfort of being home. From the Guest Book: Aaah, so nice to rent a home and not a hotel room! We felt very much at home. Loved the carport when it was raining! The coqui sang us to sleep each night, and the morning birds woke us with song!! Nice, cool nights! Everything we needed was in the house & more! Thanks so much for a great home to stay in and for such a reasonable rate! It was so nice to be able to eat breakfast here, pack a lunch, and set off on our daily treks!

From the Guestbook: We had such a wonderful time. The house had great energy (loved the colors) and was so easy to feel at home in. We did a lot of baking & never ran into a lack of kitchen equipment. Absolutely everything anyone could want in a home-away-from-home was provided. Had so much fun in the area - black sand beaches, Astronomy Center, Hilo, Volcano, tropical gardens, Tsunami Museum, lava flowing into the ocean at night - WOW! Plus lots of relaxing time together enjoying fantastic weather! It seemed to rain mostly at night with beautiful days. We will certainly suggest your peaceful hale to others and hope to be able to come back again ourselves. Mahalo!

We were here for the Merrie Monarch and even though it's a 30-minute drive, it was nice and soothing. Now we know why you don't have air conditioners... nice and cool.
