  We have come to Maui every year at about the same time, for the past 25 years. We have even stayed in another unit in the same complex. This condo is not only convenient to the elevator and parking, it is also very spacious. We didn't use the upstairs but was nice if we had others staying with us. The TV and Netflix were a nice touch after a long day at the beach. Barb and Skip even made sure we had a french press for our Kona coffee, thanks nice touch! The photos don't give the whole story usually but they were accurate this time. It has a recliner that you won't find in most condo's, great for us guys. It was clean and and we felt appreciated with the welcome goodies that awaited us at arrival. The air conditioners were nice quiet units and served us well. The Beach chairs and coolers were a welcome addition for our use! If there was a down side was that the folks in the unit next door were very noisy upon their arrival and the sound carried thru the wall. We left many spices and essentials there upon our departure but had most everything we needed already there, which the owners seem to leave alone for the next guests. You don't always think about salt, pepper and sugar until you need them and don't have them. Very comfortable Lanai with excellent furniture. The Wi-Fi served me well as my business doesn't always take a vacation when I do. We would recommend this condo for a nice Maui getaway...

  We had a fantastic first holiday to Maui. It was the perfect cure for the stress of a very busy year. Due to availability issues we stayed in two VRBO's and both exceeded our expectations. We will certainly recommend the VRBO route and particularly this condo. The location was great and everything was exactly as described. We did our own cooking and there were good grocery stores close by. Skip and Barbara; you were so friendly and helpful. It was especially nice to meet you in person, Skip. We wish you both well. Alas, it had to end. Tuesday we were sitting on the beach suntanning. By Friday we had donned three layers of clothes and shoveled the driveway twice. Canada, eh!

  This is a very nice condo & the owners did everything possible to be sure we had a good time. The price is competitive but the unit is much nicer than others in the same price range. We loved our time in Maui and will be back again. I hope this condo is available. Thanks!!!

  This was our first vacation to Maui and what an absolutely spectacular vacation it was! The Alii Kai is an excellent location that is close to the beach and walking distance to many great restaurants and shopping. The people there were so warm and friendly. Skip and Barbara your condo was perfect. It was clean, well maintained and stocked with everything we needed to make our stay comfortable. You were both were very personable and responsive to any questions we had. We highly recommend this condo and would definitely come back and stay if it was available. Thank you so much for the nice welcome basket! We loved staying in Kihei and we were teary eyed when it was time to go back home. Its paradise! Mahalo

  Close to the beach and nice long walking trails on the beach and on the sidewalks. Unit needs some upkeep and updating. Nice to be able to use the kitchen and LOTS of items available to use, but would be good to have an empty shelf or two to put groceries.

  Although the pictures online looked good, you just never know so when we arrived at the condo, we were pleasantly surprised as it exceeded our expectations. It was well laid out, clean and had a great location within the complex. We thoroughly enjoyed the easy walk to the beach; it is a law that cars stop for pedestrians so crossing the road was no problem at all. The owners thought of everything: super comfortable bedding, lots of utensils and cookware in the kitchen, nice furniture and even upper end beach chairs for our use! We would book this condo again without hesitation!

  I was traveling by myself with my two kids, ages 9 and 5. The condo was perfect for us. The loft with two beds were great for the kids and much more convenient than the traditional wall bed or hide-a-bed in most other one bedroom condos. We also enjoyed the lanai for breakfast, dinner, and a glass of wine after the kids were in bed. This was the fourth one bedroom condo I have rented in Kihei in the last six years and this was by far the condo in the best condition.

  Recommended for: Families with teenagers, families with young children, romantic getaway.

  This was our 15th time to Maui, second stay in this complex, and have re-booked this unit again for our upcoming holiday this fall. First off, this complex is in a perfect location in Kihei; walking distance to great restaurants, shopping, and one of the best beaches. The complex has a tropical feel and is quiet and peaceful. The pool and hot tub are clean, and were never crowded. The units in the Kihei Alii Kai are generally larger, and have bigger lanai's than many other condo complexes in Kihei. This unit in particular has many advantages. It is close to the upper elevator so there are no steps to deal with, in a complex full of them. It is also close to the larger, upper parking lot where there is never an issue with available stalls. One floor down are the lesser used upper BBQ grills. Perfect location. This condo is clean, nicely decorated, and well equipped, including items like a cooler and quality beach chairs. So spacious with the vaulted ceilings. The living room furniture is comfortable, as are the beds and linens. The kitchen is well stocked and has many various small appliances to use. Very important to us when we travel are internet access and also a second TV in the bedroom, this unit comes with both. Staying in a condo rental verses a resort makes it a much more personal trip, like we live there, and we can't wait to return again and again.
