Welcome to 'Blue Waters', a two story 3 Bedroom - 3 Bath Key West home, on the water with a Sunset View. Located within the Key West City limits and one of Key West's only waterfront neighborhoods, It is only 1 mile to the Key West Golf Course and 4 miles to downtown. Enjoy the beautiful outdoor entertaining area down stairs. Our neighbors call it an art gallery. Enjoy the many paintings mounted on the fences and decorative accessories. Relax in tropical wicker chaise lounge or the padded Hammock.
Keep your boat in the water docked behind your vacation home. 'Blue Waters' is located on a quiet canal that offers boaters quick direct access to either the Gulf of Mexico or the Atlantic Ocean. Ice down your coolers with 500 pounds of Ice from your own Ice maker located downstairs. This will keep your drinks, lunch and the fish you catch cool when out on the boat or taking a picnic to the beach. (You won't have to pay for a boat slip and also you can wash your boat with our cistern rain water.) Water has to come from Miami and this helps save our environment by using the rain water. (This home is GREEN) Come in from a day on the water and clean your Fish and Lobster right in your own back yard. You will enjoy a great 6' shaded fish cleaning table. Then stash your catch in the downstairs freezer or cook it on the beautiful large stainless steel gas grill. Jump in the canal and cool off or just relax in the Hammock with a cool drink. With 60' of dock space, this property will easily accommodate two 25' boats. Large fish table, gas grill, 500lb Ice Maker and a Large Freezer, makes this home perfect for a Fishing/Diving/Lobstering vacation. If you do not have a boat you can also fish in the Canal (full of Mangrove snapper) or take the Canoe (provided with the home) out to the end of the Canal and Fish in the deep area.
For fun and exercise, 4 Bicycles are provided to ride around the Islands.
Up to the second story and inside your 'Blue Waters' vacation home you will find a spacious 40' long living area that has vaulted ceilings and 12' of glass sliders opening to the Sunset view over the water. Outside of the Sliding doors you will enter the tiled screen porch. It has seating for 8 at high dining tables and two lounge chairs with ottomans to relax, read, or just chill out and take in the view. Back inside you will find a large gourmet kitchen also overlooking the sunset and water, with all the amenities and dining area that will seat fourteen. The refrigerator has Ice and Water in the door and the stove has a flat glass cook top. Blue Waters is immaculately clean and has just been newly painted and furnished in beautiful tropical colors inside and out.
The master bedroom is oh so comfortable. With a king memory foam mattress and a deluxe memory foam topper you will sleep like a baby. The bamboo sheets and master bed are probably the most comfortable you have ever experienced.
The best thing about this neighborhood is that it is so close to Key West yet far enough away enjoy your boat and all the water sports. You can safely drive or ride the bikes just 4 miles to town and eat at some of the best restaurants, Café Sole, Louie's Back Yard, The Bagatelle, Abbondanza, El Siboney (Real Cuban Food and lots of it) party all night and then hit Camille's for a gourmet Breakfast, You can enjoy Sloppy Joe's for Dancing, Irish Kevin's for Jokes, and Schooners Warf for music outside on the waterfront. Less formal and where the locals hang out (more like Key West use to be) is the Hog Fish Grill on Stock Island (2 miles away). Here you can eat with the Fishermen of Stock Island. Also on Stock Island is Rusty Anchor. This is casual dining and excellent food.
VALUE: WOW… You can vacation in your own large home with your boat docked in the back yard, plenty of room to cook out, party and relax at the house for less than the price of hotel rooms!
On the water and close to town, this house is in a quiet neighborhood and offers visitors the best of Key West. Save gas stay and close to Key West. Enjoy the water and also the endless and colorful activities on Duval Street and the City of Key West.
Remember, it is the memories we make and share with others that make life worth living. Your life can be a true adventure. Reserve your time today and make Blue Waters the place you will visit year after year to make memories with your friends and family.
How are you doing on your 'bucket list'? As we should always ask ourselves… How many more years do we have to enjoy life and do what we love to do? Better 'get 'er done'!
Life happens… Make it memorable and make sure to love, and laugh often.

I thought I knew what to expect from the Photos and property description but was even more pleased on arrival. The home is beautiful ,functionaly perfect and a delight to be in. Our family vacation was immensely successful in no small way due this lovely and well equipped home with its outdoor recreational toys available to enhance our visit. Ages 3 to 72 in our family group found the home inviting and functional for our diverse needs and no one felt crowded or limited during the experience. A low table for drawing and projects kept the 3 and 6 year old occupied during at home hours. We had up to 6 people at one time in their own bedrooms but the home could easily take two more using the fold out sofa in the large open living space We did not use the dock space this trip, too much else to do, but the canal is plenty deep enough and the dock long with a fish cleaning table and showering facilities on the lower floor. Lots of oudoor chairs, tables and a great BBQ. Parking for three cars and a boat trailer at one time was a special benefit for us. Short trip to downtown Key West by vehicle, a healthy bicycle ride for some one fit or with time. A real gem and well worth the price. Great vacation spot for boaters and fishermen with families.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, sightseeing.
Owner response: So glad you enjoyed your stay in Key West at our home on the water. I know you made some great memories your family will never forget. My grandsons do love fishing for the little snapper right off the dock! They also snorkel in the canal almost every day. We love boating and that is why we bought a home in this location. It is easy once you get used to the waters to get to the Ocean or the Gulf. There's something about that beautiful turquoise blue water and the sunshine that is so relaxing! Hope to see you again this year!! You can come when the water is a little warmer and bring or rent a boat. There are so many places to explore... Thanks for the great review!

The perfect choice. It was in Key Haven, an upscale neighborhood just barely outside the City of Key West, so it was "easy-in-easy-out." And right on the water. Beautiful views of the sunset and a great back yard "living area and art gallery" complete with hot outdoor shower, comfortable furniture, huge grill and icemaker. Not to mention the beautiful Tommy Bahama themed home. Would go again!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, sightseeing.
Owner response: WOW! So many people like that you can go into town and have a great time and also keep your boat in the water to go diving and fishing. Everyone loves that the charm of Key West is so close. It gives you Three vacations in one (SHOP FISH and EAT). You can enjoy the events in Key West, the convenience of the grocery stores and all the restaurants and Bars. You could eat out every meal and never visit the same place. One of the best is Stock Island's Hog Fish Restaurant. It has received many honors as a great place to eat. The City of Key West was just voted "The Best U.S. Winter Location, by the Farmer's Almanac just-released in the 2013 edition. What better way to spend the winter? Come to a place with mild temperatures and no frost. Almanac staff wrote. "Our first three choices are based on places that boast comfortable temperatures and plenty of sunshine Key West: "What better way to enjoy winter weather than in a city that has no known record of frost, ice, sleet or snow? Thanks to its location, this city enjoys a mild, tropical maritime climate and lots of thing to do. Put Key West on your Bucket List TODAY!

This place is more beautiful than I ever imagined! Greg hooked a sailfish the other day... WOW! What a sight. The water is soooo clean, I will buy a mask and fins when I get home just so I can (and will) get in the water next time. Very cool! Thank you very very much for one of the best vacations of our life. FISH ON !!!!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway, sightseeing.
Owner response: I know this year has been a great fishing year. So many more Sail Fish have been caught. We were down a few months ago and saw one boat with 21 Sail and Marlin flags flying. I am sure you enjoyed having the Ice Machine and Freezer for your fishing trip located in your own backyard. Hope to see you again next year! Thank you for taking such great care of "Blue Waters". Linda

Blue Waters During Lobster Season.. What could be better ?! We had a great time Lobster with the family in all of the favorite spots. We went Skiing and Wakeboarding as F18 flew overhead... Loved the beach at Snipe point and snorkeled at Looe Key. We even found the time to hang out a little bit too! Your home is so convenient to the Ocean or Gulf. Key West was fun as always we could not believe the Cat Man at Mallory Square. He is the same guy we saw years ago in the 80's. Thanks for turning us on to the whole keys and lobster things so many years ago. Thanks also for sharing your great home with us.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 1/1

Blue Waters has gotten better every year. It is one of the most peaceful places to be. In November of 2000 Ken had discovered the 300 bars in Key West. At that time he only had 78 left to visit. But now five years have passed and Ken is older he still has 66 to go..... Hog Fish Bar and Grill can serve up some good food and hospitality. Thank you for the tip. Our visit has come to an end. We want to thank you both for sharing your Paradise with us.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

Thank you so much for the chance to enjoy Paradise - it has been a delightful experience. Just putting all the cares and worries on the back burners of my brain has helped dramatically. We will surely miss Blue Waters when we leave, but I know each of us will carry happy memories with us. Again thanks for the sole rejuvenation.Did you find this review helpful? My family (six adults and a baby) spent a week here over New Year's Eve 2011 and had a blast! The location is perfect - just outside of Key West - so it's an easy trip, $20 cab ride, or bike ride into town, but relaxing, quiet and out of the way in a very nice neighborhood. Linda (the owner) was great to work with and very accommodating. They use the place as their getaway home and not just as an income producing rental house, and it shows. The place was completely stocked and well decorated. Just bring your clothes and you are set! They had all kinds of information available on local activities, including phone numbers for emergencies, doctors, and the neighbors. The house was very clean and well organized. The place is spacious and easily accommodated the seven of us. In fact, I don't think the pictures do the house justice. For boaters, the house is on a canal with a dock that can accommodate a large boat, and has easy ocean access. There is an industrial ice machine, fridge for bait, cleaning station and freshwater wash-down. They also have several nautical maps, which we found incredibly useful not knowing the area. All in all, we had a fantastic time and are already looking forward to our next trip. I wouldn't hesitate recommending Blue Waters to anyone!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway.

Hogfish Bar and Grill View on map
Hogfish Bar and Grill www.hogfishbar.com At the Hogfish, we don’t say “A Great Place If You Can Find It” without a good reason — the Hogfish really is tucked away in Safe Harbor Marina on Stock Island. Overseas HWY turn left on 3rd Street and then left on MacDonald Avenue. Follow this for approximately 1 mile and make a right on 4th Avenue (across from Boyd’s Campground). Take your next left on Front Street and drive almost to the end—you’ll see the Hogfish Bar and Grill on the right.

Owner info
About the owner: Jerry and Linda live in the Tampa Bay area of Florida. Some say Linda married Jerry because his father had a boat. Their life has been a great adventure traveling down to the Keys since 1971 every year for Lobster season. Camping at Big Pine Key in the 70's and then renting homes in Big Coppitt, Cudjoe Key and then Key West. Because of the family's love of the Keys they finally bought a home. Even though more expensive, they invested close to Key West to enjoy the culture of the city and great access to the ocean and the gulf, but still have a short safe driving distance at the end of the night. Linda loves the Water, Art Galleries and Gardens of Key West. You will find some of her art and photos in the home. Jerry loves the fishing and diving and that the family gets together every year to experience beautiful sunsets and canoe rides through gin clear water, snorkeling for lobster, scuba diving on coral reefs and wrecks, fishing the deep blue sea, exploring for a dolphin encounter where they hitch a ride on the wake of your boat or just laying back enjoying the beaches. It is our family tradition… MAKE IT YOURS! NOTE: This year our 6 year old grandson helped catch a 27 lb Mahi, caught 7 yellowtail snapper by himself and caught his own lobster! Our 2 ½ year old grandson snorkeled with his dad. We made some great memories!
Why the Owner Chose Stock Island:
Over the years we have rented homes in other areas farther down the road from Key West, but we always hated that drive when we just wanted to pick up some groceries or run out for a great seafood dinner. When our kids were old enough to drive, they put hundreds of miles on our car because they wanted to go into town every day. When it was time to invest, we knew that we wanted to be a 'safe' and convenient driving distance from all the fun and activities in town. A 10 minute drive home at the end of a crazy fun evening in town is a lot better than driving 45 minutes up US1, a 2 lane road.
Another huge consideration was having convenient access by boat directly to both the gulf and ocean sides of the keys. Many locations require a long boat ride to one or the other. Deep sea fishing one day and lobster hunting the next requires this easy access.
The last consideration was a safe and secure neighborhood. Many times the gear required for fishing and diving is either left in the boat or drying on the dock. This most prestigious residential neighborhood offers safety and security for your family and gear.
The Unique Benefits at this House:
This safe and secure residential neighborhood is where many local professionals from Key West live. They want to be close enough to easily commute to town, but yet have deep waterfront homes in a quiet neighborhood in which to raise their families. The owner of Conch Train, local restaurants, Sebago Tours, Realtors, Attorneys and Doctors all live on our streets.
