                        Excellent accommodations. Clean, modern, up-to-date. This is a large 1-bedroom condo with modern conveniences like a large flat screen TV and Wi-Fi for free Internet access. Well equipped kitchen with modern appliances including a dishwasher, ice maker in the refrigerator, microwave, etc. Laminate and tile floors throughout. A convenient covered balcony (lanai) accessed from the living room. Excellent, queen size bed and walk-in closet in the bedroom. Paddle fans in the living room and bedroom. Wall mounted A/C unit that is more than adquate to cool all rooms. The unit is on the 10th floor of a 22 story tower and the building felt very secure. The only draw back that we had was the noise from the nearby Interstate (Hawaii H-1). This prevented us from leaving the sliding glass door open and made conversation out on the lanai, difficult.

                        Recommended for: Romantic getaway, sightseeing, age 55+.

                        I stayed at this condo for 8 weeks during my time working in the area. It is newly remodeled with everything that you would need to live comfortably. Prior to my stay there was only one review that wasn't very positive but it was in the perfect area and was fully furnished so I decided to give it a try and I was blown away by it. I did not find a single bug or roach the entire time I was there. The condo is well maintained and the shared areas of the building are well maintained and cleaned daily. The cleaning crew that comes in twice a month to the condo are friendly and very thorough. The place is spotless and tidy after they leave. I was concerned whether the neighbors would be loud, but I felt like I was alone because I did not hear anyone above, below or to the sides. I rarely saw other people on the floor the condo was located on so noise was not an issue. The people I did meet in the building were very nice, helpful, and respectful. The location was perfect for what I needed while working in Aiea. It was centrally located with a large shopping mall just a block away and a grocery store was a short walk down the road. I was able to get by without a car or a bike since everything I needed was close by and there were bus stops right by the condo. I had visitors while I was living there and they rented a car, but parking was not a problem because the condo came with its own private parking space outside the front door. The views from the condo were beautiful because you have a great view of Pearl Harbor to the south as well as the mountains on the western side of the island. It was fantastic to come back here after work and sit on the lanai with the afternoon sun and get a tan or watch the sun set over the mountains. The condo has two outdoor pools with a hot tub and full laundry facility. I was there during a very warm period but the air conditioning worked perfectly and kept it quite comfortable inside. Honolulu was not too far away by bus and was very easy to get to with a car so the beaches were within reach even in this location. The manager of the property made sure to help me with anything that I needed and provided helpful information about the area. The owners are great people as well. I met them at the end of my stay and they were very friendly and thoughtful and even gave me a ride to the airport. They were very open to hearing any feedback about the condo and what they could do to make it better for future residents.

                        My wife and I stayed here for almost 2 months while I was working at Peral Harbor and we couldn't ask for a better place to stay. The cost was very reasonable and the condo was perfect for our needs. It is very clean as the pictures show and we did not have any problems whatsoever. Tina, the agent, was very helpfull and a very nice lady. I would definitely stay here again without hesitation.

                        Recommended for: Age 55+.

                        This is the second attempt to post a review on this property. This is a good stay. I keep looking for more time at this unit. It is excellent for my transportation needs. Medical and shopping facilities are nearby. Haleiwa and Honolulu are a 30 to 45 minute bus ride away. The roaches are not a problem. The unit is clean and well maintained.

                        Recommended for: Tourists without a car.

                        Owner response: We are so sorry to know that this guest has been unable to buy more time for a booking at our condo as he was a thoughtful, courteous one. We can completely relate to the difficulty as we have the same trouble booking a stay for ourselves -- and we're the owners! However, one of our goals is to provide a reasonably priced accommodation for guests who want a temporary but longer than the usual one or two week vacation stay. We did not, however, anticipate it being quite so popular and regret that this guest has been unable to book another stay. The roach issue was quickly resolved by hiring a regular pest control service and requiring housekeeping services, as well. The popularity issue is a mixed blessing -- please keeping trying, Gene!

                        My mother and I rented this condo for four weeks in February/March of 2012. It looked just like it does in the pictures. The furniture was all new and lovely, the bed was exceptionally comfortable, the shower was always hot, and all the china, glasses, and silverware were of very nice quality. However, with the highway nearby and the Pali Momi Medical Center just a block or so in the other direction with the ambulance sirens going all hours of the day and night, the unit was very loud. So loud, that it was uncomfortable to spend any time on the lanai. Even with the window and sliding door closed at all times, the noise level was high. In the shower, there was no handrail anywhere which can be very dangerous. And the most challenging thing of all to us was the roach problem. It was revolting. The manager was very nice but told us that it should not be surprising to find roaches in the islands because of the climate and that the situation did not rise to the level of an infestation. However, I was stationed on Oahu for 3.5 years and would not tolerate living with them so I know that roaches are treatable. The manager told us that they had just noticed the roaches for the first time and treated the problem with a store-bought product. However, we didn’t think the roaches got the memo. So after several days, we bought a different product and doused the condo according to directions and the roaches remained unfazed. So, it seemed to us that the roaches were very resistant to treatment. We were told that the roaches may have fled from other units that had been treated. We think that this may be part of the problem. In addition, there were very large gaps under each of the individual front doors in the building which we think facilitates the migration of the roaches. We did speak with other residents in the building down in the laundry area (ten washers and ten dryers on the first floor that worked very well and were very reasonably priced) and learned that they, too, had roaches in their units but the situation was just something that they tolerated. The manager did say that Terminex was scheduled to treat the unit right after we left and would return quarterly, but it seems to us that the only way to eradicate this scourge is to treat the entire building at the same time monthly. This might be a Herculean task, however. The roach problem, that appears to be building-wide, makes it very difficult for us to recommend this unit to anyone.

                        Owner response: This was a difficult guest who told me about seeing cockroaches in the condo within one hour of her stay. I told her we hadn't had any complaints about cockroaches before her stay, but because it is Hawaii, it is an ongoing concern, which we were happy to address. We have a notice posted in the condo that, in order to insure guests will not have a problem with cockroaches, it is important to take out the trash each evening. We provide an ample supply of kitchen trash bags for this purpose. Prior to her stay, I saw minimal evidence and treated accordingly. I suggested that she wait a day or two and let me know if she was still seeing evidence of roaches and that within a few days she should see none. I also told her that because we had treated, she might see increased activity for a few days. She called repeatedly, having counted the number of cockroaches she was finding, and complained about the "infestation". The first time she called, she said there were five cockroaches and each day she called she was seeing fewer and fewer of them. In Hawaii, five or fewer cockroaches is NOT an infestation. However, our goal is to make our guests happy. Therefore, I offered to have Terminix come in immediately and treat but, again, I told her she would see increased activity for a few days after any treatment. She declined my offer and insisted that we wait to treat until after she checked out. Within 24 hours of her departure,a Terminix technician came to the condo and did a complete inspection. He indicated to me that he saw no cockroaches and only evidence of them in one small, kitchen drawer. He also commented on how clean the condo was but that wasn't a deterrent to cockroaches. We had him treat thoroughly and are scheduled for repeat treatments. Subsequent, we have received no complaints from guests about this issue. Additionally, this guest complained about not having a grab bar on the bathtub, which we didn't represent in our VRBO advertisement. She complained about not having extra pillow cases, which we supplied her, even though we never had complaints about that prior to her stay. As to her complaint about the noise, the freeway is clearly visible in the lanai photo. If there were no noise with this lovely condo and great view, we'd be charging at least $1,000 more each month.
