The cabin is nestled under tall pines on the edge of a strikingly beautiful and secluded Black Hills meadow. The view from the front porch across a sweep of pasture, ringed by steep rock ridges and dense pine and spruce, is punctuated be a sheer white limestone cliff rising in the distance. This private little valley is graced by Jim Creek. The diverse flora and quietly tumbling creek attract a wide variety of Black Hills animals and birds.
Enjoy relaxing on the front porch, hiking in the woods, trout fishing in the creeks, cross-country skiing, birding, golf courses, restaurants and all major Black Hills attractions.
The brilliantly redesigned 1910 building features a lofted cathedral ceiling and a large field-stone, gas fireplace. Three sleeping areas accommodate up to eight people. The main level has a full bath, a well-equipped kitchen and dining area, a comfortable living room, and a bedroom with bunk beds and a double bed. Upstairs, the open loft holds a double fold out futon. This area also can be used as a second living room and has a special parquet card table perfect for games, puzzles or projects. An upstairs master bedroom has a queen bed and a private full bath.

Location & View
Stunning landscape featuring a distant, but looming limestone cliff. Depending on the season and time of day, it turns white, yellow, pink or lavendar. It plays hide and seek in fog, rain, or snow. And it is frequently aligned with single or double rainbows in the summer. It is a constant sentinel of the valley....morecollapse

This is truly a slice of paradise! We stayed with another couple for 3 days and we all agreed we would come back in a heartbeat. The cabin was even better than we expected. The layout provides for maximum privacy and the kitchen is fully stocked with everything you need (although more tupperware for leftovers would be helpful). Mary and Mark were great hosts and Donner and Blitzen (dog and cat respectively) were an added treat!! A wonderful oasis after a hectic day in the life of a tourist!!!

Perfect Place to Stay
Perfect Place to Stay
My husband and I have been vacationing in our beloved Black Hills for many years and we are always on the lookout for the perfect place to stay. Cabin at Green Mountain is everything that is advertised and more. It is certainly the perfect place for us. The cabin is a welcome retreat, filled with beautiful artwork and comfortable details. The veranda inspires one to indulge in tranquil moments, a bold cup of coffee and a good book. The surrounding property is a nature lover’s delight with beautiful views and great hiking opportunities. We highly recommend this cabin and we have no doubt that Mark and Mary will make your stay an enjoyable experience.
