We really enjoyed our stay at this cabin. Calm and quiet. Great for relaxing and leaving the plugged in world behind for a while.. Don't miss the Honduras Coffee shop in Stuart or the Villa Apalaccia winery just off the Blueridge Parkway. If you are lucky you will see a flock of wild turkeys feeding in the yard. There was one that was jumping up to pick the berries off the holly tree. Very entertaining. We had such a great time we have already booked the cabin for a return trip. We hope you will enjoy it as much as we did. The owners are great to work with. They really want you to enjoy the cabin as much as they do. They go out of their way to make sure you have everything you need to enjoy your stay. Sincerely, Sarah and Ron WelchRecommended for: Families with teenagers, sightseeing, pet owners, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with young children, girls getaway, adventure seekers.

My husband and I, four daughters, and grandparents recently spent a fabulous weekend at Veronica's mountain "getaway". This home is only 20 minutes from Stuart, Virginia--home of the Wood's Brothers Racing Museum. (My husband wanted Nascar fans to know that.) We were within 30 minutes of everything. We visited Fairystone State Park, Nancy's Candy in Meadows of Dan, the Stanburn Winery...My girls, though, were perfectly content hunting mushrooms behind the house, playing board games, spoons, and working on the "mother nature" puzzle. We roasted marshmallows in the firepit out back and told ghost stories. The house has everything that you need-towels, linens, coffee maker, grill, hot water, outdoor folding chairs, firewood and rocking chairs on the front porch. We plan to visit again in the winter to fire up the woodstove! Oh! I forgot to mention---no TV. It was great! My girls never asked about it. *So quiet. * Veronica was kind enough to send a few links pertaining to local festivals, shopping spots, etc...I give the ranch on Pleasant View an A!Recommended for: Families with teenagers, sightseeing, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway, adventure seekers.

Two girlfriends and I stayed for a week at this awesome, peaceful cabin. The house is so cute and the kitchen is awesome. We cooked out on the deck and spent many hours talking and rocking on the front porch. We hiked off the Blue Ridge, kayaked on Lake Philpott, picked blueberries by the bucketfull, and visited the winery (Chatteau Morrissette). We also went into Stuart for the fabulous coffee shop and live music. At night we would sit by the fire, roast marshmallows, look up at the beautiful stars and just relax. The beds in this cabin are so comfortable and everything we needed was there at the house. I can't wait to come back with my family in the fall when the leaves are changing! Apple picking time! I have stayed at a dumpy hotel in Stuart for about the same amount of money. Amazing. Thanks Veronice!! About the owner: John and Veronica Kressel live in Northern Virginia. Veronica is a Realtor with Samson Properties in Chantilly, VA. My website is LoveVAHomes.com We have 2 children, 2 dogs and 5 parrots. John is a Backpacker. Our son is an Eagle Scout and will be attending GMU this fall. Our daughter is studying Biotechnology at Osbourn Park HS.
Why the Owner Chose Patrick Springs:
Veronica has lived in Virginia all of her life. This area of VA is so beautiful. What attracted me most was the undeveloped lake (Philpott) and the serenity of the property. Reminded me of my Grandmothers cabin up in MN. I wanted my children to get out of the city, unplug, and experience another way of life. Most of the happiest memories our family has is the time that we have spent and still spend at the cabin. Our hope is that you will find happiness and make life long memories of your own.
The Unique Benefits at this Cabin:
WARNING: You may not want to go anywhere except the front porch! This place begs you to slow down and watch the butterflies and the hummingbirds. On clear nights the star gazing is fantastic. Kayak in the morning, Honduras Coffee Shop in the afternoon, porch sitting before and after dinner, smores and the stars = a perfect day!!!
