    This place was exactly like we hoped. It was clean, quiet and had everything we needed. It was centrally located to nice restaurants which we could walk to. There was a bike rental place - Yolo - also within walking distance (which I would recommend). The beach was beautiful and actually couldn't ask for anything more. Would definately come here again and would recommend the unit. The kitchen was furnished with everything that we needed as well (although I have to admit I didn't cook much). I have no negatives to this place we had a great time :)

    My husband and I loved the time we spent in the cozy condo in captiva. The island is a perfect getaway without the touristy beaches of the other areas of florida. The water was perfect and shelling was very fun. The condo had everything that we would ever need! The bedroom was comfy and the tv with movies was a nice touch. The living room paint color was a bit bright and matched the color of my sunburn, but it set a beachy mood. Haha.

    Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

    Owner response: I have been all over the world and I have never found better shelling than I have experienced at Captiva. In fact the mirror in the bathroom I made out of mostly shells that I found on the beach. The gated community feel makes this resort and the beach villas in particular truly special. I am very happy you found the condo to have everything you needed I have 6 total beach villas each has its own decor/theme to accommodate different tastes and sizes. I am glad you enjoyed the colorful beach decor of this unit. Hope to have you back again.

    We stayed 12 days over Xmas and New Year in this wonderful condo and we really loved it. The condo is excellent located with a beautiful view over the gulf. All descriptions were more than good; the aminities and appearence of the condo were perfect as well as maintenance and cleanless. The owner informed us very well concerning all or questions and we can recommend a stay in this wonderful place everyone who loves staying in a nice surrounding with best options to relax. Beach and swimmingpool are only a few steps away also restaurants and shops. The best holidays we ever had on Captiva! We will come back for sure.

    My absolute favorite beach! Very quiet but not isolated - the water is amazing and beach full of treasures. The house is okay - the coffee table is super heavy and we could not move it to actually use the sofa bed - not sure when it was last used - considering...... super easy rental process - quick and efficient. We had to call for a lock out one evening and it was handled in a relatively short time. Overall no major complaints on the unit and the location is wonderful!

    Owner response: Yes the beach is wonderful. I have had quite a few persons use the sleeper sofa this is the first for the table being heavy I think really the glass on the table is probably heavy and that can be removed then the table moved if it was too heavy. So all in all I am glad you enjoyed your stay and the lockout service is inclusive of the fees that are paid and is a nice feature for guests. Hope to have you back in one of my properties.

    My husband and i went to Captiva for our 3rd anniversary. What a beautiful place. The lady that owns this place has thought of everything, you will want for nothing. The screened lanai was a great place to sit and listen to the ocean. The beach is beautiful at the condo but if you want more shells go to Blind pass, very near by, we found a lot of shells there. Not many places to eat in Captiva, stop at the store before you head to the island, cheaper and more selection. We had good food in Sanibel, we ate at Doc Ford's, Island cow,Lazy Flamingo and George and Betty's and we were happy with all of those. Get ice cream from Pinnochio's, love the dirty sand dollar !! We went to the tram tour at Ding Darlings wildlife refuge, did not see much, not the highlight of our trip. Went to Ft. Myers beach and lovers key on Sunday....do it, amazing, great day trip !! Anyway, can not say enough good about our condo and the grounds of South Seas are just amazing, have a great time !!

    My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our 4 day stay and the condo was exactly what the review stated. There are small things I wish we would have known (I will list those below), but for the most part it was perfect. There were a few more families than we expected, but that was only an issue because my wife and I didn't have children :) The restaurants were very good, but be prepared for pay about $5 more for dinner meals. I would strongly suggest the bubble room and Over Easy Cafe for two places to eat at. If you are flying into Fort Myers airport and simply coming to the island for your trip, I would seriously consider looking into a taxi and simply getting bikes. We rented a car and I am not sure if the $225 was worth a relatively short trip. The ocean was wonderful and the shells are even more than I expected (makes it very challenging to run or walk on the beach). The chairs and umbrella provided were perfect and made each and every trip to the beach wonderful. The condo was a typical beach condo and was decorated appropriately. The bedroom was very comfortable and that was a highlight that warranted mentioning. I would recommend this really for anyone that can survive time in an enclosed location with your party. We would have a difficult time in that space with our three children.

    Recommended for: Age 55+, girls getaway, tourists without a car.

I am always finding that meals out on vacation are more expensive especially when the vacation is on an island away from the immediate mainland. The Bubble Room is expsnive but worth it if you have never been. I do not recommend a one bedroom unit for 5 persons in fact the occupancy is only 4. I recommend a two bedroom for 5 persons. I would always want a car just in case an emergency came up but that is just me. Glad you enjoyed the embrella, chairs and cooler that I provide to make your stay a little less expesnive. hope to have you back.

    My wife and I stayed here for one week on Captiva prior to a planned stay at our timeshare on Sanibel. We wanted a nice 2 week retreat on the islands. This property was beautifully appointed and decorated. Nice lanai with view of pool and a bit of ocean in the distance beyond the palms and other vegetation. Unit is on second floor (third level from ground) and does not afford a view of the beach directly from that vantage point. The furnishings were quite comfortable with good television and internet availability. Kitchen was nicely appointed for cooking in, which we do extensively when we travel to our various timeshares owned. The one bedroom had a very comfortable bed and stayed very dark and cozy, even with daybreak looming from the morning sun rising in the East. It became "The Cave"...never slept better anywhere, I don't think. Like most places, nothing is perfect and things will go awry. We experienced some bumps in the road but give very high marks to the owners - Kim and Peter - to being on top of anything that popped up. They get 5 STARS for that. Our lanai ceiling fan wasn't working when we arrived on Saturday. But, we had a replacement by late Tuesday morning. The ice in the freezer of the fridge was removed by house keeping, which is apprently a FLA norm required by law. Ice maker produced nothing for about 6 hours and then very little the entire week of our stay. We learned from the owners the fridge was only a month old...good fridge with lousy icemaker is all I can say. We had to buy a bag of ice to supplement usage that week, and we are NOT heavy ice users by any stretch. So...word to the wise...bring some ice on arrival. We had a water heater overflow above us and dampen the walls somewhat. Owners inquired quickly to ensure that no damage was done to our belongings and to get an assessment from us of the damage, since they were not nearby that week. Loud bangings (at multiple intervals) from outside on concrete stair landings at 2nd or 3rd floor levels each morning starting arount 7am. Never determined source, just rolled back over in The Cave...Pool can get a bit noisy at times due to proximity - lots of families with kids in July...Lanais could get loud, since so many close together on 3 levels of floors w/ chatty families. All in all...a good week. Recommend it to anybody. If it isn't right, Kim and Peter will make it so. We won't hestitate to go again. It is a tremendous value for the money.

    Owner response: Glad you will be back for your yearly vacation at South Seas. We really try our best as you can see. also glad you enjoyed the really comfy bed and appointments. Also agreed I think too many people think things will be perfect and we cant always have that... But at least we can try. The ice must be emptied when a new rental begins I think it is the health code in FL. It is suggested to get a bag at the local store 2 min away from the unit on your way in if you want to have ice quickly. I also love how dark the bedroom gets and I also sleep very well there. The noise was probably the renovation that was going on in the end of the building. I was there just after your rental and they were just finishing up with one of the units on the far end. But again not sure it could have also been the linen bags that are dropped off in the AM for the south seas rentals?? I came to inspect the water leak from above and by the time I got there a few days after you left all was fine and there was no evidence of damage thank goodness.

    This is the way to go! South Seas Resort is a beatiful and has all you need. We had everything we needed and then some. They thought of it all from the chairs for the beach to the candles incase the power goes out. This was our second trip to Captiva and South Seas Resort and glad I didn't rent through the resort this time. As with my last visit I am not impressed with any of the resturants in Captiva so I did cook almost all my meals. The fishmonger came out to the general store with fresh fish just about everyday. The water was crystal clear and the weather was perfect. Plan on going back next year and will definatly be calling Kim to get her place again. Thank you Royal Shells for making my vacation perfect.

    We loved the location. Fan on the deck was broken and it was hot without it while in the lanai. Kitchen well equipped.

    Owner response: Glad you loved the location right on the beach. However the fan is not broken you must turn on the switch by the door that did have a sticker "fan" on the switch to operate it.     We had a terrific time- rain was a nice break from the sun. This condo is more than adequately equipped- don't even need to bring a hair dryer- it had two. We only stayed 3 nights so didn't do a lot of cooking but everything was there had we needed to. My advice, for a short stay, don't buy too much until you see what is in the unit- we had filters, salt & pepper, etc... and there is a small grocery within walking distance. The pool was nice, the location to restuarants- perfect, and a wonderful place to run back to the rest of the resort- make sure you get to Lands End just to see the views there too.

    My husband and I stayed in this great little condo in for our honeymoon/to say our vows on the beach in Captiva. We now feel that it was the best options available (and for a better price than any other place we could find) and allowed us to truly feel relaxed an enjoy our time together. It is even better than the pictures can show and is supplied with everything you could need. Everything was so organized and just perfect. The view from the balcony was one of the best and it was so nice to be able to have the beach just a short walk away. I definitely recommend staying here and plan on going back again in the future as it was one of the best vacations I have had. Also, Kim is very easy to reach and quick to respond to needs and Royal Shell has a great staff who made us feel so at home. We stopped by almost daily to grab some complimentary cookies and bottled water. Cynthia from the front desk was so awesome and willing to help us with anything. All around it was an A+ experience and I can't wait to go back.

    Great condo and location! We enjoyed it very much. The condo is well furnished, and very clean. Awesome beach. The only draw back was the noise, the walls are thin so could hear all the neighbors at all hours of the night and morning. The owner and the rental company were very helpful an easy to work with. Will definitely consider using again.

Just so you are aware the walls are concrete block between the units so I am not sure how they could be thin...,but this is the busiest time of year to visit captiva (March), the entire resort sells out the month of March and the first part of April. You probably heard the noise from the hallways not the next door units. I have stayed in the units quite a bit although never the really busy time periods and have never been bothered by noise. If you are looking for a non-busy time of year fall is great the resort is not that busy. Hope to have you back.

    We've always enjoyed the gated community of South Seas. The grounds are well kept and beautiful. What was great about this rental was that it appeared professionally decorated down to every detail, from the mirrors and tables to the glassware. Living room seating and bed were both comfortable (which isn't always the case). The view was outstanding, seeing the sunset from the lanai. We could hear the waves early morning before the sun rose. I don't cook on vacation (since I cook for my family every other day) so can't speak about the dishes or kitchen. The pool was convenient with comfortable chairs. This owner's beach chairs were over-the-top awesome. I am going to find Tommy Bahama chairs for my lake home as these were so comfortable, easy to carry, with multiple seating positions. This beach villa is an upper-end and comfortable unit with a great location.

    Recommended for: People with disabilities, age 55+, families with young children, girls getaway, tourists without a car, romantic getaway.

    Owner response: Thanks for the comment on the professional decoration, but I must admit I decorated the unit myself. We have several vacation condos we rent out from south seas to cape cod to VT and I take pride in the little touches or decorations. I actually designed, made (from shells collected on the beach) and hung the bathroom mirror myself. Yes the screened in balcony is great for taking in a sunset or just relaxing.

    Your property was just what we wanted and exceeded expectations. The location is perfection.We were most pleased with how well everything was supplied and labeled. One suggestion would be to leave the password for WiFi in the unit.

    Owner response: glad you had a good time and sorry that you had access issues we know how important good fast internet is, and for that reason not only have our concierge give you the code, but also include it in the house notes we send you, and have it written in the closet where the brooms and mops are by the modem and wireless unit. many units at south seas do not even supply internet, and the resort service is horribly slow, so we price ourselves on a fast easy to get to wireless perhaps we will post the access code by the phone too to further eliminate this issue thanks for the feedback

    There is no better place to be than Captiva Island in January and our stay at this property contributed to the glow we took away from there.The condo was clean, comfortable and very near the beach. Walking everywhere was easy. The property owner provided all amenities. Technology in the condo is complicated and needs more instruction if you want to use th WiFi or watch a movie. Worth time are the boat trips offered by Captiva Cruises. Be sure to have a meal at Traders Market and Cafe on Sanibel and have dessert from The Bubble Room.

    Owner response: Sorry that the wifi was difficult for you the password should have been given to you by the concierge on check-in. It is also posted on the shelf by the router as the house notes indicate. To turn on the TV you press the on button on the single romote both in the bedroom and living room. To watch a movie you press source on the romote. There is label on the DVD players to note what to change the source to. Please always give us a call to try to help you. Glad it was a great stay otherwise.

    First of all South Seas Resort is all about 1st. Class. To be able to find a wonderful unit such as this one at such a fair value makes me want to keep this a secret. What can I say--- clean,comfortable, modern ,close to everything . What a view. The Gulf, The Sunsets,The Pool, o yea open the door and listen to the waves wash up on the shore. Thank you Kim for providing and sharing your piece of paradise My wife and I celebrated our 30th. Wedding anniversary over the 2nd.January week at your place.We had a fantastic time. Your place was so nice and comfortable, and had everything you could ask for and more! I sure hope we can do it again next year.

    We were looking for a great spot to get away from it all and this was the perfect place! The unit was decorated nicely and the view of the beautiful sunsets from the screen porch was amazing. The kitchen had all the comforts of home. We can't wait to go back!
